Same story here! There was one arcade in Melbourne with an imported cabinet and it was my dream to become a weapon on it, but never was really able to because I didn't have much money and the cab was ages away. Now I can achieve the dream at home 😈
I played IDAS3 back then but I was more of a WMMT person. These cards remind me of the WMMT tuning cards, I had 3 back in 3DX+. I lost all of them and the arcades always have broken card readers since then.
I was regarded as a god when I showed the worker at round 1 in grape vine when I showed him these cards. I also had my maxi tune cards since they had 3dx+ machine there only to find out the card system doesn't work.
I still have my card from my HS days, i got 14 stars with idk what color aura but i was pretty good at the game. Its been tucked away in my wallet since 07 lol, i keep it now as a relic of the good ole days 😂
My local arcade just got IDAS3 but as far as I know, our card reader doesn't work 😭 I'm gonna say "yet" though. They're usually pretty okay about going the extra mile for certain games. I'm a sucker for games that let you come back with your previous progress. It shows you're in the know and you're dedicated.
Haha i still have the one card I always used when on vacation went pretty far into the game too! Ended up putting the card behind my work ID badge haha maybe one day it will be used again!
I wish the Initial D Stage 3 cabinets at the Fujiwara Tofu Cafe in LA have working card readers. I'd be on it again like how I used to ditch class in high school to play Initial D LOL
