The reason you need a factory steering column is because they’re collapsable. Before those existed cars would have solid shafts like you see in some racecars. What happens with those is on really hard impact those would shoot in to the cabin and penetrate you like a chicken on the barbeque.

18:30 The best handbrake configuration is pull up but with like a 40 degree tilt. It's the best of both worlds, because it's still in your peripheral vision but you're never going to confuse it with the shifter or vice versa. It also just look's better than an upright.
Thought of you today Jimmy! I met an old guy at Walmart driving a SUPER clean 240SX. He said it was an '89 with about 118k on it. I didn't see anything wrong with the paint and I'm pretty sure he is the original owner cuz he said his wife wants him to get rid of it. I told him to not take anything less than 15k for it. I live in Northwest Arkansas btw and we don't use salt in the winter so I'm sure that chassis is spotless!!

Orange is also one of my favorite colors on cars. I wanted my te27 corolla/mango levin in orange, but it was lime green. When i sold it the new owner painted it orange and converted it to a trueno sprinter, which i wanted to do.

For mock up purposes those bolts in the steering rack will work but they arnt long enough the nut didn’t grab very many threads
