- I decided to upload a series of final fantasy vii piano (most of them from the official piano collection) to celebrate the release of Final Fatansy VII remake this month! I picked my favourite arrangements from the OST. I will upload every 1 or two days from now!

For anyone wondering, this is actually playable, it seems harder than it actually is, and it is even easier if you do the arpeggio with both hands, just in case you were wondering if this was very advanced for an intermediate, I'd not recommend it for beginners though, but what a glad surprise I got when I tried to learned it, hope this comment was helpful
so true. my ass. was like i need to learn this song. lil did i know. i was a complete noob at piano. but to learn this song was a journey . that was amazing. brought me back to life after my divorce. lol
A couple nights ago, I spent a few hours putting together a classical guitar arrangement.
The funny thing is, while you may hear this and think it's more difficult to play than it actually is, the opposite is true for a guitar arrangement. I was thinking about which video game theme should be arranged for guitar and this immediately came to mind. Coming from a different musical background (guitar, rather than piano) I actually thought this sounded like something that would be easy to play, but found that it's deceptively difficult.
Like you, I would not recommend it to beginners. And on guitar, intermediate players will find this to be quite challenging as well.
I love it, though. Such a beautiful and nostalgic piece and a fantastic etude on both instruments.

I remember I heard it for the first time in 1998 when I played Final Fantasy 7 for Playstation 1 and even today I am enchanted by this wonderful nostalgia.
I first heard this song in the old NES game, the FF soundtrack as well as the Castlevania/Mega Man soundtracks really got me into video game music back on the NES. Something about that sound chip just made all this stuff sound really cool. I think it's only the intro arpeggio type part in the original NES "prelude" song, the FF7 version is definitely one of the better versions of it.

I like this version, it's friendly for beginners learning to play, and it doesn't scale up and down the *entire* piano after the beginning. I'm now reading the sheet music and simplifying the left hand while I'm learning and will eventually attack it with all the summons when I'm good enough :)

This brings me back to the 90s.......Back when times were so much easier and life was so enjoyable and simple! 😢😭😭
I wasn't born in the 90s, and I have only bits and pieces of information about these times, and I was a toddler and elementary school student in 2000s

I finally got around to playing FFVII after forever, and it’s great so far. Definitely feeling the age, but still great. Can’t wait to try Remake out, too
I put it off for so many years, but I knew I wanted to go back and play the original. I knew how big a deal it was to gaming, so I didn't want to skip it. I am SO GLAD I played the original. It is so, so good. It's got all its old game clunky charm, but at the time it was breaking new ground. The whole thing is just beautiful though, top to bottom. The art, the story telling, the script, the emotions, the MUSIC. I have yet to play the remake stuff, but I can't wait. Working my way through the Crisis Core remaster right now, and oh my god. Just... oh. So good.

I was practicing this as 1234 1234. I didn't notice he was playing it 2341 2341.
It makes a big difference and it's definitely easier to play 2341!
How does it make it easier?
I play with 1235 and it works too!
At this speed most fingerings are possible, however, for faster arpeggios you need to pay close attention to the fingering

imo the Prelude kinda sounds like a Chopin piece so maybe it's not that alien to them

Everyone forgets about that one on snes. Man that game sucked me in back in 1991/92 and I’ll never forget the emotions that game made me feel. The music is what brings FF games to life.

M P umm i used right hand only for those arpeggio which isn’t necessary. U can play with two hands crossing each other.
I find keeping the rythm clean through out the whole piece to be the hardest, good luck in learning it >w

How are your videos made? Do you have a special piano or do you splice the footage with something else, and if so how do you get the light on the keys?
