Maybe it's just my imagination but it feels like the tune goes from being happy and optimistic in the first ones to kind of sad in 7, like a feeling of forlorn hope. It's like it's warning you what's coming in the game lol.
Now hold on there partner. Ik its not what you were expecting. But in all honesty i think its pretty good that they tried something different and (to me) at least its fitting for the theme of the game
i actually like X's version. the guy they hired to make it pretty much only plays the keyboard instrument but he did a good job and and gave the prelude a nice turn of the century almost electro touch as ffx was pretty much on brand new hardware back then especially since despite keeping a lot of what makes ff great, ffx was the first for a lot of things in the series to me such as voice acting, motion capture characters, a full 3d world, more intimate interpersonal character relationships, a more serious story, etc and that just makes it impact so much stronger when the ps2 was a beast of a console
@@SparktheYoshi Because it's not the real prelude of the game. In FFX, "To Zanarkand" is the real prelude of the game. And that's a masterpiece, much like the "classical " Final Fantasy prelude
It fits the game's theme so well, so I really really, love it even. It's my most favorite Prelude, because it's catchy, and doesn't afraid to be experimental.
As with virtually every component in every different final fantasy comparison, 7 is the best. It truly is square’s magnum opus… and one of the greatest works of art of all time, across all mediums. Absolutely astonishing.
You can hear how technology evolved to allow better music...then hear how the music itself declined into generic and forgettable tunes that only vaguely sound like the prelude.

Not all heroes wear capes
Eh wol?
Brave Exvious prelude is top 5 for me.
This song is core to my childhood. Always makes me somewhat emotional. Timeless piece I’ll always listen to.
Especially 6. Can’t even make it all the way through without tearing up 🫣
lol I like how X gets all funky

Your Father

final fantasy 12 opening is the best... ♥️
XIII may not have followed the mold, but it was still a banger (all of XIII’s music are bangers)
Sabers edge, lightning’s theme, Serah’s Theme, Gran Pulse theme, Sunlit Waterscape, etc.
It’s a shame they broke tradition, every ff game should have it, or at least a melody somewhere
Agree. FF13 is artistically a masterwork and imo one of the more funny games to play through. Extremely underrated.
I love them all, even the thirteenth one
MaxStoryTeller
13's is one of my favorites
The best prelude for me is IV is so magicaaaal
Agreed
IV is when the soul really started to shine OST and STORY wise
VII Is calming
7, 6, 12 are the top 3
12 has the cleanest orchestra
6 has the best bit tune
7 has the strongest nostalgia
6 feel foggy, mysterious. 7 feel dark, saddest (2nd Part). In opposite 10 feel fun. 12 feel fresh, clear sky.
If there was an 80s Pinball Version of Final Fantasy, I think it would sound like the FF2 Crystal Prelude.
(Best Compliment I can give it…)

i love part of this song is from G E N O V A instrumental but just the begining
X is the best version when it comes to being very experimental
FFBE still has the best prelude among these. Though it's a mobile game
I like ffxv 19:21
Nothing will top 6 and 7 for me. Some of the best video games I’ve ever played
4!
The real interlude from XIII is Serah's theme/The Promise
6 is the best
I love XIV
Nostalgia.
Votes for VI and IX :)
15 kind of sounds like a fusion of 14 and Phantasy Star Online.
Ffxv feels like fresh version from the others
It like it. It's my alarm ring tone lol
7 imo is where it began to feel magical. Probably because of the ps1 sound
I prefer VI. Can listen to it over hours. IX is close to VI.
FF7 prelude has Sephiroht motif
FFX is my favourite game of the series, but I cannot stand its prelude, they ruined it.

Where's 16?
@@aarontorres8101 If you give me a Time Machine, I can add it to this 7 old video lol 😂
not including type 0 is criminal
Well, it's in the title. It features only the Preludes from the MAIN FF titles

Calm down buddy.
Final fantasy 6 would like to have a word.
@@xaby996 I listened to FF6. It recognizes that it’s not nearly as good a game as 7 lmao
X is a better game
@@yoh8238 X is definitely number 2. Incredible game for sure

It's like with graphics, they have gotten better, but most games lost their artistic use of shadows, colors and character, creature, world designs.
If youre calling Crystaline Chill generic. Youre tripping lil nigga 😭😭
What do you mean? 14's and 16's (relatively recently gams) are amazing.
Okay grandpa
@@electricx2375 Oh no, I have been called out for my wisdom and experience!
The best prelude: Final Fantasy Vll..
The worst prelude: Final Fantasy X..
(Obviously)..
Agree 💯 X prelude is trash. VI and VII excellent and IV is excellent as well
