I wanna complain....for you getting me hooked on these Weltool lights ;-) I love em. I've been collecting lights for about 20 years and these are right there at the top. I'm hooked.
It should be noted the USB-C cover on the Olight is not related to waterproofing, it just provides a barrier against dust etc getting into the port. The port itself is IPX8 with the cover open.
Yeah, there's no seal on the Olight's twist cover, so that port is water proof. The larger hotspot and greater spill are more adequate for actual tactical/defense purposes. And this tail switch that Olight has on this is grade A+.
One important point about the Olight. It uses their proprietary 21700 battery which is difficult if not impossible to charge outside of the flashlight. Also, other 21700 batteries may not work at all in the light. I have at least 30 Olight lights but really hate they have quite a few lights that take proprietary batteries.
I have both and while I hate the BS Olight battery proprietary thing and god dang it the magnet in the tailcap drives me crazy, the X4 is actually better. First impression would be T12 plus is a better light but after using it for nearly month, I go back to X4. Weltool got dangerously hot in turbo, mine reachs 64C before stepping down while X4 will step down at 52C. The battery working temp maxed out at 60C so it could be dangerous if user keep grinding for turbo. At 1000 lumens, X4 runs much much longer than T12 plus. The T12 plus hotspot is too tight for me, I prefer SFT70 with stronger, fatter beam (this is personal preference though).
Olight is superior in term of run time. Weltool 1000 lumens for only 92 minutes while Olight 1000 lumens for 159 minutes, and drop to 300 lumens for another 20 minutes. And that port on Olight is waterproof it self, the cover ring doesn’t make any difference. Besides, Olight warranty is 10/10 while I don’t have a good experience with Weltool warranty. It is pretty slow, rude and lame actually.
Olight wins hands down! I can live with proprietary batteries because their customer service is insanely good. Weltool on the other hand never even answers their email.
Boohoo. If you buy an Olight it comes with a battery and charger. All you need for it to function. If you have extra non proprietary batteries and cables that work in your other flashlights you MUST have purchased them at some point. Olight sells extra batteries and cables
no, they actually dont but they do offer the most innovation and choice had a brand new nitecore mh25 pro go tits up and I have to send it back to china for "repair" - it seems the company is owned by one guy that answers the phones too and really isnt interested in returns and it was going to cost about 1/4-1/3 the value of the light to ship it back and get a return label - not worth it

Cant find weltool in Canada... Whats your top 2 favorite self-defense lights at the moment .

can you compare with weltool t8 plus tac
Switchback DF actually fits the Warrior X4. Feels great with it.
The Warrior X 3 tactical ring fits on the X 4

Weltool all the way... i don't like Olight, over-priced for what you get. Acebeam is way better
Olight, weltool, imalent, acebeam, thrunite, nitecore, fenix, klarus, sofirn, lenovo, tti are all chinese companies. China makes the best quality
@jalee6587 i know but Olight is not worth the money, just my opinion
Olight is junk
You cannot judge the WX4 based on prior knowledge of what Olight has made. This light exceeds everything produced by Olight.

Who cares if you trust it or not, is it rated to be waterproof? That is what’s important
And yes the olight is ipx8 waterproof

Like most things about the weltool but HATE that UI
Weltool wins by far.
Olight was alot better ...put them both up against the wuben t1
Was never a fan of Olight, i hate their proprietary bullshit
bit dramatic

Javelot is more thrower.....
