Synopsis:
Cheng Shao Shang is a young girl who was forced to grow up alone after most of her family had to leave to fight in a bloody war. Thus she becomes stubborn and untrusting. She fends for herself in a town populated by people like her, who have been left behind by the war.
One day, a talented and powerfu general named Ling Bu Yi comes to the town - and falls in love with her at first sight. He resolves to marry her, even though it will cause him no end of problems if he decides to pursue this union. She also warns him that she doesn’t trust him, and that her stubborn personality might not be suitable for the wife of a general. But Ling Bu Yi also has deep secrets, and there are facts about his true identity that even he does not know. This has to be one of the best Chinese historical drama I've ever seen so far. Perfect script, perfect actors, perfect cinematography, perfect everything. But the best part is , it's uniqueness. It's the only historical drama I've watched that had a marvelous, understanding and super king not forgetting the friendly and passionate queen and the most reasonable consort their could ever be.Its the only historical drama with a humble crown prince who never cared about the throne in the first place and of course a rival prince who became the crown prince justly without evil schemes. The list is endless my people... Kudos to the writer and the people involved. We got something different at last.

@@gracekoko5713 wow.. Novoland is down your list. I actually liked Novoland. The friendship between between the Emperor and his friend was out of this world. That s truly what being best friend should be. They protected each other. I haven't watched Any other series that showed best friendship between a king or emperor and his subordinate. Did you see how the emperor protected his sub ordinates woman, even when he knew that the right thing was for her to be executed. He took her in as his concubine just to protect her. It is a very realistic series. Novoland is my best. It shows you what true friendship should be about. They were more than brothers. They were soul mates. Even in death, they were there for each other. I like love like a galaxy but it is only the Lu Buyi and his fiancée part. I also liked her family. About the royal family, I didn't see any wow thing or special thing there. It was a royal family full of competition, jealous, envy, hatred. Imagine, suggesting that the crown prince should be remove just because he is too soft. I was angry. I understand the crown prince's mom regretted ever getting married to the king but I hatred the fact that she kept emphasizing it while she was on her death bed. How does she want the king to feel. She made it seem as if she was never happy and that the palace was very in bearable. The king was so nice to the empress, he doesn't joke with her and treats her well. Even better than his other wife but she decided not to see the good side of him and focused on how compatible, the king was with the second wife. There was no need for her to force the king to dethrone her and her son, she still decided leave the royal life she hatred. Based on every thing that she displayed, I agree with her. She is not fit to be an empress, she is too weak and she didn't even hide it. It is because of how weak she was that Lu Buyi's girl couldn't leave her side and forsake her family. I didn't even like the fact that the empress allowed her to stay in the palace and abandoned her own family. No family is prefect. Lu Buyi thought her family is bad but the royal family is worst. It is still the same family that came to rescue her at the last episode before Lu buyi even showed up. Family will always be family. And finally, it didn't make sense that she couldn't forgive Lu buyi jut because he chose to die for her to live. They will have killed two of them and because he wasn't ready to tell her his full identity shouldn't make her bad. Is it easy to trust some one. She was stupid for making them bite each other to form an oath just because she wanted him to say the truth. You don't force some one to trust you. You have to allow them to be the one to tell you themselves. She kept on putting pressure on him and that forced him to be quiet about his identity. The only forgiveness I can understand that she was waiting for is the one of trust and the abandonment, no man or wife will allow her or his lover to die. They will not only have to die together, their families will be executed. It is not worth it, that is not how to show that you love each other. She didn't even think that her whole family will get implicated and executed. She was indeed selfish. If not for love, I will advice Lu buyi to leave her. The girl was already behaving like a girl with a lost soul and she was still proving stubborn as not to forgive him because she knows that indeed he loves her and she was confident that he will come back. If not, she will not be that stupid. Imagine, that she didn't forgive him, she can't even married again because she tried and it never worked. She will grow old alone, she might not even want to go back and live with her family. Lu buyi will surely get married to another woman and have kids. He will surely have to do it because he is the last blood line in his family. She will be old and full of sadness and regret. That is a more reality version. Instead of making Lu buyi look bad as if he committed a deadly crime to her. And for all this reasons, Love of a Galaxy is not my first or second best movie. Producers should create more realistic scripts.

The emperor was such a fresh breath of air to the character 🤣😂 and it was really unfair for them to the wedding without him when he was their number 1 and biggest shipper ⛴️ They really needed to do a second wedding for his sake👍👌😊 Moreover we needed like an extra episode for him to realize his biggest dreams🤔😽

Пять лет она меняла сознание Буи, а теперь почему не торопился к ней на помощь.хотя это её шутка.
Он меняется, она не будет? Природе мужчины меняться сложнее, тогда как природой заложено гибкость женщины в отношениях, как залог стабильности брака. Очень интересный брак. Юаня она просто задавила бы, а Буи она любит, поэтому углы не будут такими острыми.
Она поломала стереотип дамы при дворе, вот почему её не взлюбили они. Деятельная, она хотела что бы её заслуги признали и считались с ней, пусть она не царских кровей. Но отвоевав право самой решать, идти на войну или нет, она поставила равенство между мужской силой и женской. Вряд ли её жизнь будет длинной в итоге, понимая это, она заранее просит его после неё жить полной жизнью и не скорбеть о ней. Но если Хо Буи меняется то возможно он и после будет жить хорошо, так хотела она.
'Til the end the emperor was always my favorite character, without him I don't know how this drama could have continue. He was definitely the best, when he was so mad that he wouldn't be there for their wedding was hilarious, he even wanted to cancel it just because he wanted to be present and then the empress just leaves him there talking to himself🤣🤣🤣

I feel so bad for the emperor. He was their biggest supporter, and he wasn't there for their wedding. I support what the emporer said, their wedding doesn't count. They need to hold another wedding with him there. We should have an alternate ending just for the wedding.
I think the ending scene is just perfect. The irony of their biggest supporter not being there for their wedding is indeed hilarious. Plus the wedding itself was just right for this drama. But I also wish there was a huge celebration at least when they get back.

We just wish there was a Special episode showing a actual wedding as well as (maybe) a jump of a couple years after the wedding to see their happiness.
Although they have sweet moments in the series a lot of times they were cut short and surrounded by chaos though the ended was perfect it goes without saying that they definitely deserved a full episode focused on just happiness. 😊

You know what I'm most thankful for in this drama? It's that A'qi and A'fei didn't die. Unlike most dramas that the subordinates die for their masters.
And I love Shaoshang and Zisheng too but I love Yuan Shen more. Qiqi and her husband's relationship is very cute

they were very good in the long Ballard if you haven't seen it
I cried when the Cheng family entered to help shaoshang, specially her mother. In the first episode they showed how shaoshang was abandoned as a baby at now at the ending they show how her mother and family came to her rescue, when she was in danger. This drama has really come to a full cycle. Kudos to the writer for keeping the plot interesting for whole 56 episodes. Not a single dull moment from start to end.
I think I prefer what happened in the book. It wasn’t her family to the rescue. It was herself and her soldiers, her twin who went to get soldiers from another county and Lou Yao’s wife soldiers (just some of them) CSS soldiers were the queen’s before. They, like CSS are expert firefighters , because of everything that happened during the 5 years she was in the palace. That’s why she chooses to go to Gu village, even though Huo Bu Yi, didn’t want her to

Right!?!? Her mom went through a lot of talking about trying to do right by Shaoshang from now on when Her Highness died. Then backed it up by the whole family showing up to fight together, taking orders from their NiaoNiao. Actually healing and understanding the relationship! "We are here to support you" not "we are here to save you" and bulldozing her plans/eforts. Shaoshang gets rescued a lot but her whole family coming for her are clear that they are at her disposal, that they trust and love her and how dare anyone attack her, they'll be her support.
It Aldo is reminiscent of the first village Shaoshang saved when she lost Miao (really wish they had something about her being a maid! She cared for and raised Shaoshang for 15 years. Her Highness was with Shaoshang for 6-9 years total and I absolutely adore the Empress but let's not snub Miao!) and how she could only be thrown around when danger came, but unpacked her dagger to stand and fight. Now she's picked up a sword and stayed in control of putting out fires, saving the crops, managing the fighting.
😂😂😂😂😂 Fei and Qi just sitting there, watching the Cheng family drama unfold. Just another ordinary day in the Cheng household 😆
I wish there was more episodes where they have kids and everything else. One of the best dramas I have watched so far, I didn't want it to come to an end. The emperor and empress in this drama were different to others I have much, so refreshing to see them get along, jokes around and wanting the best for the country. The cast were all amazing playing their roles.

I know, even YangYang rode the horse with the husband and played their part according to Shaoshang's instruction. Qiqi and Song are real soldiers, so is Aunt Cong and twin brother, but the parents are awesome.
I loved that 😍😍😍! The plot twists were Amazing from start to finish!!! The father went to war because his woman was a warrior 🪖🪖🪖! The sister-in-law was Niao Niao's Best friend and drinking buddy who was ready to lay out the nasty little aristocrats that dared malign he friends character!!! Gotta love it!!!

This movie shows you the true meaning of "love" and how to express love. They didn't need to do the things our generation are doing today or what our generation call "expressing love" today. The love was pure, and built, from the king to the parent to the shaoshang. Every body has to watch this series to really understand how to love and what it means to love.
People of today do not know what genuine love really is. People today do not comprehend devotion and commitment especially in the union of marriage. People today are so use to meeting, having sex, “moving in together and “playing house”.Because we see a a fantasy series well presented based on a novel about life, love, death, family, built on true commitment, devotion, and loyalty between two people. Why do we praise it and cheer it? And, seeing the outcome brings us happiness. Maybe, we should ask ourselves why we are drawn to such dramas? Is it because we and our society are missing this element in our lives? Are we just settling for what we can get out of what American Hollywood Film and TV Makers tell us “love is”? (Meet, have sex, move in, play house, and if not happy, split up) -- no mention of commitment to stay together. No hint of commitment or loyalty to Work at being true to vows, (which in this case are never spoken).
Devoted committed loyal love is not experienced in homes of today, examples of such life is not demonstrated in homes and families of today.
Could it be that we are lacking so much of genuine deep rooted devoted committed loyal love the only place we can find it is on a Fantasy where the outcomes are controlled by the presenters? God help us get over ourselves and come to the realization genuine, committed, devoted, dedicated, loyal love is work and not just a fantasy.
No wonder the US is bankrupt and twisted about what love truly is.
I think the problem we have these days is that we have so many drama and books which talks about fantasy love, sex and all those unreasonable things which really love doesn't represent. We have so many films that says, " love is that feeling of attraction you have for someone" whereas true love is not just a feeling but a decision(a decision to respect, to commit, to grow, to communicate etc) and it has caused a really huge problem in marriages, that why we have lots of divorce now a days.
I hope good writers like this can come up and keep writing good movies like this that truly educate the young ones coming up. With the way divorce is increasing I fear for our generation, talk more of the ones to come

This drama in particular raised my standards in watching dramas. The cast, the story and the way every character was portrayed was fabulous. How the role of niaoniao's mother was getting hate which means how phenomenal her acting was. Even the maturity of niaonaio from scene one to last episode was developed was insane. The emperor and empress were so damn different from the other costume dramas I have seen. The love , the revenge , the fear that this drama showed was too deep. It looked original like I can't start a new drama because of the impact this particular drama has left on me.💓💓💓💓

Love how General Huo's facial expression gets so soft when he looks at the love of his life! So glad for a happy ending! 123, I highly suggest: "New Life Begins" (Custome CDrama). It's my TOP CDrama and I honestly think it should be displayed in Educational contexts/institutions. It contains some similarities to this one and 1 is that ML (6th Royal Young Lord) fights for his beloved (rural and quite illiterate girl) to become his Wife. He even tries hard to get her interested in him. The guy has been neglected by his Emperor Father and Concubine Mother and humbly makes his way only on his Merits.
It contains various Life Lessons, but the Acknowledgment of Women's Dignity is the Top one.
there are Humourous Scenes, Gastronomy, even wonderful Music tracks since the Opening one itself and Happy Ending.

they really have captured Love in its many forms, Love between lovers, Love between parents and children, love between siblins, love between ruler and subject, love between employers and emploees, love between general and army, love between society. and they never showed just positive or just negative, they always showed both. we see the realistic situations and feelings between Zisheng and Shaoshang, we see the ridicule from society but also the friendship with qiqi, we see CSS's mother and the difference between strict parenting and loving parenting. and that no child is the same so you cant use one type for all of them. we see how CSS never let her mothers inability to show love to her daughter get in the way of Yang Yang and CSS's sisterly relationship. we all see how the royal children treated CSS and Buyi as outsiders when Shaoshang sat with the emporer and the Empress on her deathbed when no other child of hers or empress yue were allowed. This drama encapsulates the term "you make your own family" as that is exactly what cheng Shaoshang did. she was able to add her birth family to that family, allowing for a happy ending. RIP to the Empress you were the mother Shaoshang needed but not the mother the royal children needed. right person wrong setting!

This has turned out to be one of my all time favorite C-dramas. It blew it out of the park for best cast, solid character development, plot and pacing. The characters' relationships were complex and compelling. I deliberately avoided spoilers and was presently surprised by many unforeseen plot twists. I will probably see this drama again in a year or so. It's definitely a keeper.

This historical drama is a master piece,Unique,different and captivating. The actors did so well in portraying their characters. Yao was one of a kind character here ,simple and understanding. The main leads so entertaining with their acting skills. The cheng family is a serious support system. The emperor is selfless,a father and a friend. The late empress and Empress Yue gave sisterhood a touch here. Women don’t always have to fight ,learn to understand. They taught us some conditions aren’t our fault and for greater picture sacrifices must be made. I literally enjoyed this drama .Kudos guys . Future viewers are lucky 😁

What an amazing journey we have been on with these awesome actors, especially ML & FL with their chemistry. ❤👏Everyone performed their roles flawlessly. They had us so captivated that we were waiting with eager anticipation for the next episode. I still don't want it to end.😢 We would share in their laughter, sorrow, anger, pain, love and hope for forgiveness, along with a bright peaceful future. The musical soundtrack added so much to the emotion the actors were portraying. The costumes designer, scene set designers and camera crews were outstanding
Overall, the directing and script writing was extremely good. There were a few episodes I felt a little rushed. One of the scenes I would have like to see was how they rescued General Cheng from the copper mine situation. The ending was happy and wonderful which I loved in the fact we saw the Cheng family united...fighting along with Shaoshang to help save the village, along with Huo Buyi and Shaoshang being reconciled, overcoming all their trials and being engaged.❤❤😊😊 However, I am feeling a little bit robbed like the emperor when he isn't going to be at the wedding after he invested so much effort and concern in getting them together.😢😢 I would have liked to have seen the wedding and then see them living in the home he promised they would build together again gazing at the stars together. Followed by them looking at the stars in each other's eyes with an ending kiss not on the forehead this time. (A little wishful thinking on my part.)
All that being said, I truly feel this is a masterpiece. It is definitely on top of my rewatch list. I would love to see a season two. Thank you for everyone involved and for the English translations. Award winning drama.👏👏👏👏🏆🏆🏆🏆❤❤❤❤

This drama is truly the best cdrama i’ve ever watched. Well deserving of all the awards it won. The way they portray each character (main and supporting) is phenomenal. Very rarely do I love all the characters. This is already the second time I have finished this drama and I can see myself coming back to rewatch it again and again because it’s that good. I especially loved the dynamic between the emperor and the empresses. Usually there would be rivalry and jealousy especially when it comes to their children and who inherits the throne. I’m glad it was somewhat peaceful in the emperor’s family and that it ended with the emperor still healthy and well. I loved the way we could see Shaoshang and Huo Buyi grow and mature throughout the whole drama. I cannot speak highly enough of this drama. Looking forward to whatever projects Zhao Lusi and Wu Lei have coming up.
