Hi. I am totally not your target market however for what this bikes appears to be, the cost is spot on for its target consumer. In a world where electrifying bikes and cars for instance increases the price immensely it's nice to see something at the right price, no frills, just an okay MTB at the right price. Not trying to be anything it's not.

@@PhilDiasPJD exactly that, Phil. I really liked the fact that it’s ‘just’ a mountain bike that happens to have a motor. A plucky, get the job done quietly and without any fuss machine. It’s a nice bit of kit for the price.
Appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment too. 💪🏻

Can't say I've heard of Tourou, looking forward to the review. Where are they based?

Touroll (which auto correct just wanted to change to Tortilla 😂). They’re another Chinese manufacturer that seems big in Europe, so clearly wanting to expand in to the UK. 👌🏻

Hi Peter, Thanks for the review!
For what it costs and assuming that the battery wont burn the place down, its a no-brainer 😅 shame its not a "winter" bike capable.
My ebike costed me £4.500 - a Cube Kathmandu ABS (i know... totally different machine!) and although it is "ok" to ride it on all-weather, i am quite careful riding it on the wet to prevent moisture ingress onto the motor. What i do is that i keep greasing the crank seals with silicone grease. This prevents water ingress but a pain to keep on top of, suppose the same can be done on this motor/rear axle?
I do like mid-drive ebike though, its a more "natural" feeling on the bike and way easier to fix a puncture (or replace the wheelset)
The thing about my ebike is that i use it for alot of stuff! replaced my car on a big part of my trips. I've got 2 panniers and use it alot for a dash to the shops. Or a quick trip to town, or picking up my kids from school (when they cycle in), its just way easier and convenient than the car! (and faster in my case)

@@jsva8661 yeh, it’s a real shame they don’t recommend using it in the wet. Otherwise I reckon it could have been a real answer to a lot of people’s winter commutes.
I’m keen to test out a mid drive at some point. I’ve got a torque sensor e bike review in the distant pipeline, but still a rear drive. It’ll be interesting to see how the sensor differs from the speed/cadence sensors I’ve been used to.
Really glad you enjoyed the video though and good tip about the crank seals. It may be a pain, but I reckon you’ll be riding that bike longer than someone who isn’t doing that. Winner! 😉

@@petertreadway Sure if it was ok for winter use, for £600 i would deffo look at it! rather get all the winter sores on something like this than my other bikes!! I mean.. just the cassette on my ebike costs £120 (if bought on sale - Shimano XT 12s)
I've used both, torque and cadence based ebikes, the torque sensor one is the most natural experience close to a normal bike in my opinion! Mine has the Bosch performance CX motor and its brilliant! sure expensive, but the thing is an amazing experience. If you have the chance of even just renting one for the day, give it a go! But be warned, once you try it, all the rest will feel crap. :)
I trend to use my ebike to do alot of zone 2 / recovery rides after a big day on the roadie, its brilliant for this too (roads here are binary, either up or down.. )

The whole things cost almost as much as my battery did on my DIY build from EM3EV. That's a red flag for me.

Seems ok at the moment and has been for the last few months, but agree that a longer test period is required, so will update you guys in a few months.
