    If I could afford 16 grand, I would spend every penny on that Harley. You must love your job! That big V-twin sound is to die for. I've been riding for 17 years now and at 33, I've had many bikes but never been on a Harley. One day maybe.

    @KcCommie The zig-zag line are there to protect the pedestrian crossing. You aren't allowed to park there under any circumstances and is a criminal offence to do so. You'll usually find them near school entrances too. The bit in the middle (or the central divide) is the same as my previous answer, just designed to increase separation between oncoming traffic and to prevent over-taking.

    My father got a 2010 Fat Bob and the exhausts started corroding after about 4 weeks despite us havin it parked in our garage..

    @CybaRJ the lines at 4:15. they seem to occur right before/after a junction with a light at it

    Kornholeeoo: Thanks for sharing your input to the discussion. Appreciate your experience with a variety of bikes, and I too have more than 45+ years of being a licensed biker, on many different bikes, including Harleys, and I enjoyed the EVO engine ones the best. There are a lot more bikes to choose from these days, and I am not a crotch rocketeer, either, rather a cruiser man, myself. Personally, I have a lot of fun, taking on and passing up 110 CVOs, down here on the open road in Texas, they can't keep up with my Roadstar 1600, with 4 valves per cylinder, to their 2, and to my bike's 2 spark plugs per cylinder, to their one.......much more efficient burn rate, and more torque at the rear wheels, but, whatever one rides, ride with pride......thanks again.

    Like at 03:19? In simplest terms they are no go areas usually designed to protect junctions and road furniture.

    To dry509: There are many brands to choose from....I suggest that you do your own research on to find which style, bike suits you personally and fits your budget........If one must ride a Harley, then the ONLY modern Harley, I would recommend buying would be a 74 CID, XL1200 Sportster.......still uses the EVO designed engine, very reliable, all four cams run on METAL GEAR drives and the right side belt drive makes it very easy and inexpensive to change out final drive belts. And since 2004, all Sportys have rubber-mounted engines to take out all the vibrations the Sportys were known for.... You'll spend a small fortune on the TWINKIES, just to change out a final drive belt.......you have to disassemble the entire primary drive and pulley. and swing arm, and it's a very expensive costly, time consuming procedure, to do, when it comes time to change out a final belt drive, too. Just call your local H-D, "stealership" and price a complete final belt change out....Another option would be to buy a Harley rolling stock, chassis and tranny, engine and buy an S&S 117 CID, X-WEDGE ENGINE. In my opinion that is a bullet-proof monster of an engine, with an awesome, auto style forged crankshaft with auto style 2 piece connecting rods, and a Gates belt drive to operate the two cams......for less than 10 grand, you will have a solid engine, with lots of H.P. and outrages amounts of torque ft/lbs., to move you effortlessly down the highway, cause torque is the name of the game in big V -Twin Cruisers........that is like having your HARLEY cake and eating it, too.............check it out.......

    Your its all about the "brand" I have owned sport bikes, dual sports... you are right most people that buy a Harley have never ridden anything else, I have had 2 Harley's the heritage and now I own the fat boy well I can honestly say I am bored of cruisers, I never ever want to buy a cruiser again, I miss the power band in other bikes, I think I will buy another dual sport. cheers

    Jerod McCarter: Yeah, I remember Harleys were all actually manufactured, not just "assembled", in the USA, and outsourced parts were still American made and they had a full American workforce, and their clothing accessories were bought from American textile manufacturers, and not bought from foreign sweat shops, for peanuts and resold in the dealerships, at high prices as if they were actually produced in this country. You may be to young to remember, the world before globalization and workforce outsourcing. Yeah, I remember those days when a guy could find a manufacturing job, and feed his family on one income, too, and not have to find 2-3 part-time jobs with no benefits or defined benefit pensions. A guy could work for 20 years and retire in dignity.

  • @tomcata1467
    @tomcata1467 9 лет назад

    Yeah, check out my research on the TWINKIES........they are not the same as the great single cam Harleys, I used to love and ride, many years ago........when they were made out of metal parts inside the engine, real Metal Gears and not PLASTIC tensioners, with their stretchy silent chain drives which affect cam and valve timing and which little PLASTIC tensioners, wear out and destroy the engine......or the pressed together crankshafts.....that twist out of true and crater the engine, no I remember that they used to have real bolted together crankshafts.......yeah, that's what I remember about yesterdays, panheads, shovelheads and Evos. The Harleys of yesterday.......

    • @dry509
      @dry509 8 лет назад +2

      What brand of motorcycles do you recommend then?

  • @tomcata1467
    @tomcata1467 8 лет назад

    I don't hate Harleys per se, just the junk TWINKIES........I .like the older EVO 1,340 cc, (80 CID) single cam engines, produced from 1984-98. A little underpowered, but, reliable and re-buildable. No two PLASTIC cam chain tensioners, to wear out, they had a solid METAL GEAR drive to operate the cam. They ran cooler than the heat machine, TWINKIES, with their REAR CYLINDER CUTOFF sensor and heat shield. The EVOS, had a bolted together flywheel, instead of a pressed together flywheel on the TWINKIES, which are well known to twist out of true...........so, most weekend warriors or wannabes, don't even know what is inside their TWINKIES, or care, just want to be known as a Harley biker.............and THE MOTOR COMPANY, loves to sell these bikes to those kinds of guys. THOSE ARE THE COLD HARD FACTS, and no amount of name calling can change those facts, pal.

      @Kornholeeoo 8 лет назад +1

      Yeah, he's talking about price. British pounds. Back in 2011, 16,000 pounds was around 24,800 US dollars. Pretty pricey. I just bought the new 2017 Fatboy S with the 110 engine for less than 20K US dollars two months ago in Texas. Now I will say I did get a great deal. They told me the price was 18,999 when it was really 20,600. So we split the difference and then they gave me 10% off for a military discount. Sweet deal and I jumped on it. The weight is around 730 lbs if I remember correctly.

    • @Kornholeeoo
      @Kornholeeoo 8 лет назад

      I looked at a new Vulcan today. They are gorgeous. But in my experience, I have to slightly disagree. I can't stop at a light now days without someone rolling down the window and saying, "Nice Bike." Never had that happen on any other bike I owned. When I park it, folks walking by always stop and give it a good look too. Just last week I went into a sporting goods store here in town. Parked the FatBoy out front. When I came out, there were about 10 young men all standing around the bike, they were all riding too, but on these new 10-15K rockets. I mean there were a couple of BMW 1000s, Ninjas, R1s and a Busa. None of them young men could have been older than 22 or 23, and they were decked out in full racing leathers. Shuberth helmets and all. I estimate they each had nearly 2 grand just in gear. And their bikes were new too. They were all just staring at my bike and when I walked up, they were like, "Dude that is one sexy bike! Fire it up so we can hear it!" They went crazy when I did and I still have factory pipes on it. It's the 110 Screaming Eagle engine with slip ons and it does sound great but I do plan on adding something different in the Spring. But these kids could obviously afford a Harley, and they were all digging it, but I think it has more to do with the style of their age, than thinking Harleys are crap. We all chatted for a while and it gave me a good feeling. I've always hated the types of riders that are like, if you don't ride a Harley, you're a wuss. And vice versa. To me, it's about riding. If you ride, and just love riding, you know what I mean. The trend is shifting today with respect being given to all types of riders. And I like that. They had some bad-azz rides too and it was obvious they could have afforded a Harley. Or daddy could have, lol. But they sure did give some respect for a nice looking bike, and I gave them the same. The last bike I rode was a Z1000. But I've wanted another Harley for years and I finally just bought me one. I don't care what you ride. If you ride, you have my respect.

      obieezx11 Oh they are nice. I was looking at one the other day too. But my Harley doesn't vibrate. It has the new rubber engine mounts they are putting on them. And the engine is balanced now. But all bikes have things that will need attention. If you ride one long enough, you'll find a problem of some sort. Keep riding and ride safe!
