Korn is probably one of the best bands you will ever hear in the nu-metal style. They have deep lyrics and a absolute insane sound. They gave so many kids in the late 90's early 2000's a place we called home and a voice we didn't have. Jon Davis is a lyrical mad man who just absolutely spoke for a generation of broken people who were afraid to speak about abuse they suffered and how much they had to hold in to be accepted by the "normal" people. This band for a lot of people is their therapy.

If u watch the music video for KoRn's 'Twisted transistor'... it's a funny clip from 2005. The band opted to replace the 4 band members (at the time) in the video w/ major rappers of the day - Snoop Dogg played Munky (guitar), Lil' Jon played Jonathan Davis (vocals), David Banner as David Silveria (drums) and Xzibit as Fieldy (bass) 🤣
'Coming undone' by KoRn was another great single from this 2005 album 'See you on the other side' 🤘🔥
Another one I recommend is - "Y'all want a single" by KoRn.

Brother, I just got to the point where you talked about waiting to watch Daddy. That’s a good call. Jonathan Davis had a terrifying childhood. He was s&xtually abused by a trusted male in the household and his mother didn’t do anything. The song is absolutely gutting in how raw the pain is. He sings from the perspective of that male as well as from the perspective of himself as a young child. I hope it was cathartic for Jonathan, and I hope it reached other people who were victims of SA and maybe helped them feel not alone. I enjoy your reactions my guy. Thanks for keeping it up

@@zackkullis5555 not wrong. Jonathan has talked about this quite a few times. Neither of his parents were involved with the abuse, they just didn't believe him about it. It was his babysitter/family friend. The male or female question was at one point answered as female, though I don't remember where, only that it was an interview with Jonathan and his dad. Now it's just stated as a family friend everywhere you look. Their identity has never fully been revealed and they have since died. People keep taking this whole twisted take and running with it instead of listening to Jonathan's own words. smh His parents both regret not believing him, but Jonathan hates that his dad gets this blame when he never touched him this way. Regardless, they have a much better relationship, now.

Yeah, Daddy is a lot. It's not for the faint of heart, it's triggering (not the current definition, like actual panic inducing) and while it does give a lot of context to Jon Davis' life and music, for me, as a parent, its .. i equate it to eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. There's no going back.

Twisted Transister is certainly one of their more straightforward tracks, it's easier to catch the groove for sure. But melodically it's a bit static. There's not a lot of movement. Would deffo suggest checking out Korn's track "Got the Life" for a fun track with a good groove, and a bit more of movement in the melody. It's good fun :).

Many many metal groups are exceptionally talented lyricists & some are dabbling into rap/hip-hop/EDM/all the above. I appreciate all music as a musician, but will forever be a metal head. Freak on a Leash was one of the first songs that my autistic son was able to listen to. Before that song, he didn't like music at all. You're pretty spot on it's about the intimate relationship between the artist and their audience carried through the music. For a lot of music especially metal the artist is expressing their own darker more destructive emotions as a way to exorcise their daemons often giving their fans the comfort and freedom to safely confront their own struggles in a constructive private way.

Oh if you want lyrics you need a dictionary, thesaurus and possibly even an encyclopedia for check out Cradle of Filth. Extreme Black Metal from the UK. Maybe start with the song "From the Cradle to Enslave" go with a lyric video because the official is sexually explicit, or "Cruelty Brought the Orchids"? or maybe some "Bathory in Aria"? Dani Filth (vocalist) is a Nietzsche and Lord Byron (18th century poet) scholar, with a penchant for sexual innuendo, double meaning, and wordplay. Single lines of his lyrics have been called literary masterpieces. All about dark, gothic (Goth as in the germanic people of ancient rome) romance and eternal suffering. Plus his high pitch screams will blow your mind.

It's about a girl, who isn't perfect, definitely not a saint, that realises the world ain't fair and no one understands and she is lonely and depressed. She basically is a representation of people suffering from loneliness and depression and no one understands besides the music.

You have to watch the video. Lil Jon, Snoop, David Banner and Xhibit play the band in the video. Its epic.

They released two new albums since 2019 I think
The nothing, which is the lead singers darkest music after the loss of his wife & mother
Their fan base. Their latest is also pretty good. “COLD” is my favorite there are a lot of other bangers this album I think was there re-insurgence of their popularity.

Twisted Transistor is one of my favorites by them. Probably because I have a screwy brain 🤣🤔. Coming Undone, Falling Away From Me, Alone I Break and Get Up! follow closely.
It's *very important* to hear all of it, but it's a *heavy* song and not a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd reaction type song. The song Daddy makes me hurt. ....as a mom and well other stuff..... it was/is a VERY needed song unfortunately, especially for people that needed a cathartic song and Jonathan Davis (lead singer) got catharsis. I understand they've only performed it live a limited number of times, I am grateful it wasn't played the night I saw them,
and yt won't or shouldn't bite.
Jonathan released a song for Type 1 Diabetes awareness after his young son had a medical emergency related to his diagnosis.

yeah Daddy is a hard one to get through, their early stuff is a heavier sound and what made me love them, been listening to them since 92/93. you should listen to twist lol possibly in your own time though

I’ve suggested to you 21 Pilots and LP. 2 bands I’m going to recommend. Alabama Shakes Hold On and Avenged Sevenfold Cosmic. Both amazing songs to listen to and for reactors.
