A brand new bearing and seal doesn’t require grease correct? And then at 9:31 in the video when you were putting the anti seize on the shaft, is your drive shaft bent? Why isn’t it coming straight out from the axle housing? Mine looks the same and I needed a hammer to get the hub on just like you did.
They come with grease already however I like to make sure and repack them to make sure. Axle not bent and the bearing has to be press out of the axle tube. Thanks for watching.
Great instruction. Thank you for sharing. I wanted to know which way the seal is supposed to be facing. I see you put it flat side out. Good to know. Thank you very much!
So if I’m getting oil leaking out by my wheel I need to ch age that bearing and seal like you just did? I assume the axle tube is supposed to have oil inside and that seal by the bearing has gone bad in my case?
Hi, your not suppose to have diff fluid in the axle tube. If you do then your differential bearing and seals need to be replaced. The outer bearing on the axle tube is your wheel bearing and that seal keeps the dirt out of that bearing. Hope this helps you out. Thanks for watching.
Thanks, had to confirm were that spacer stopper/collar went and no other video showed exactly where it went.
