    Great video Tim, my year 2000 VX Prado is the same axle configuration. My mechanic has had 3 goes at this job and still leaks. It is because of the non genuine axle seals, everything else genuine parts, Toyota is a 3month wait for seals which is just ludicrous. Toyota dealer is doing the job in May. I wish I had all the tools to do it myself. Really enjoy watching all your vids. Cheers Jim🇦🇺

      @TimmyTheToolman  5 месяцев назад +3

      Thanks James. I'm wondering if the problem isn't with the seal but with the mechanic. He might not have confirmed a good mating of the axle seal with the inner retainer. Aftermarket seals aren't as good, but they usually last for a decent amount of time.

      I not sure, he seams like he is putting all his knowledge into the job, he has done quite a bit of work on my 24 year old Prado for me. Yeah maybe he’s just missing something. Going to be great when I don’t have to refill the diff every week. This has been going on now since xmas.

    One of THE ABSOLUTE BEST Toyota RUclips mechanican channels out to date!!! Top toyota channels in no specific order, Timmy & Sean, TCCN, Vikings Garage, T4R Garage, and the one and only Petr at Toyota Maintenance.
    We appreciate all of the time and hard work that goes into these detailed videos Tim!! Truly!! Need to setup & stock up the swag shop so we can support yall in more ways like t-shirts/hoodies etc etc etc
    God bless~

      Thanks for the nice compliment, Chandler. We appreciate it! I'm wondering, though, do any of these other channels match the level of detail we offer in our videos? One thing I've always thought that separates us from every other automotive channel is the level of detail and explanation we offer the viewer. I don't know all the channels listed, but I have seen stuff from the Car Care Nut and Toyota Maintenance, and they don't quite do what we do.
      Sean and I will be launching a website soon, and we are discussing having swag for people to purchase. In the past, we just gave t-shirts, patches, and stickers away, but it got expensive.
      Thanks for supporting our channel.

      @@TimmyTheToolman ohhh no, please don’t misunderstand me. I’m not saying they do & in fact, nobody does, outside of a Toyota that happens to come into a general mechanic channel. Y’all show how to do the entire job and tips on parts of it. They’re definitely not the same type of channel. They’re just all my favorite Toyota channel and are all different in ways, but yeah y’all are the only ones doin regular Toyotas step by step.
      Yeah I’m sure that did get very expensive. I’ll keep an eye out on the site and I’m sure y’all will mention it in a video when y’all launch it.
      Honestly surprised yall don’t have a lot more subs by now, but they’re comin. They just don’t know it yet!!

      @KendrasEdge757 Gotcha. Each channel offers their own uniqueness. Our channel is so practical, and not many come to us for entertainment or general knowledge. When they need to maintain, repair or mod their Toyota, they come to us. Only a very small fraction of the people who use our videos subscribe. I guess there's not much interest in knowing about the next thing we do. Somebody has a need, they find our channel doing a search, use our video, and then they're gone until the next thing they need help with. I get it, but I do wish more of our audience did subscribe.
      We will put out a video when we're ready to launch our website so stay tuned for that.

      @TimmyTheToolman  5 месяцев назад +2

      Thanks Richard. There's so many a-holes selling the ripoff copy of his tool design, but there's no way to stop it. It's super expensive to get an international patent and next to impossible to enforce it. You just have to hope karma exists and these dishonest people get what's coming to them.
      I buy plenty of products made in China and I suppose some of those products are ripoffs of other manufacturer's design's, but I have no way to know if that is the case. This situation is personal to me, because I know who was the original designer and manufacturer of the tools and how the ripoff copies have negatively affected his sales.
      All I can do is hope people watching my videos are smart enough to follow my suggestion and buy from Duane, because people have had issues with the Chinese ripoff copies. It also heavily depends if people have integrity and want to reward the original tool designer (Duane) and not the dozens of sellers selling the ripoff version. Some people don't care and will just buy the most affordable tool they can find.
      Some dude made a video using a ripoff copy of Duane's tool, and when I made a comment about it letting him know the tool he was promoting was a ripoff from the original tool designer, the guy deleted my comment. So, obviously that A-hole doesn't care he's promoting dishonest people.

    it is weird that the Toyota Prado j95 from 1996 to 2002 in some countries or 1999 to 2009 in my country Colombia has the same system in the back as the sequoia , it has rear disk brake and parking brake shoes, unlike the third gen 4runner uses only rear shoes, and basically the Prado and the 4runner share almost the same chassis and have the same LBJ problem and we are not in a developed country. The prado used to be armored here for politics and people with lots of money. Interesting they never put rear disk brakes in the 4runner but we never got the third gen 4runner for sale at the dealership, only direct import from USA and it is still super expensive nowadays. We also never got the tacoma, tundra and sequoia, only Hilux, Fortuner and Land Cruiser
