Create a path mate on a revolve surface or a curved surface or a circular surface in

As you can see here, 3 slots are available according to these slots. I am going to put a slot mate.

We can specify or or else we can specify the percentage of the path. I am selecting it as a free. Here I am selecting it as a key has to be follow the pathway which I have already selected. Here you can specify the coordinate systems also in which direction that you want, that is XYZ. In this option I am selecting it as X which is a different option.
The roll control option I am selecting it for the effect Roll control is like if you don't put a roll control the key will be rotating 360 degrees. For that purpose I am selecting a effector. In the effector I have to select the which plane which have to be affected for that purpose. The plane which I have created I have selected that thing. OK everything looks good then click right.

what are you doing at approx. 2:40 in the video? you are aligning the origin of the slot key with the plan? what is the purpose of the plane. I'm guessing since you imported your part in lieu of building it on the plane, then they have to be aligned?
