I never will understand why you seem to attract the number of picayune, ridiculous comments and criticisms that you do, but I am truly glad you keep making these videos in spite of them. I have yet to see one in which I have not learned something new, and as a civilian who never had the honor of serving, I appreciate the fact that you are direct and straightforward in what you are showing and why. There are, in my opinion, far too many RUclips channels that treat things like "escape and evade" as something that anyone can do with a little practice, whereas you said right from the jump that this is not what you're getting into, and here's why. Please keep up the great work, and keep the videos coming! The Dakota fire hole is something I had heard of, but had not seen practiced and it was amazing to see in use.

Even in those that I don't learn a new trick, you jog my memory to something long forgotten. Thank you my friend for doing these, they are indeed a valuable resource.

I was in the McDonald’s drive-through this morning and the young lady behind me leaned on her horn because I was taking too long to place my order. “Take the high road,” I thought to myself. So when I got to the first window I paid for her order along with my own. The cashier must have told her what I'd done, because as we moved up she leaned out her window and waved to me and mouthed "Thank you.", obviously embarrassed that I had repaid her rudeness with a kindness. When I got to the second window I showed them both receipts and took her food too. Now she has to go back to the end of the line start all over. Don't screw with us OLD PEOPLE. lol
I made a bug out bag inspired of the videos you have made and I have went on several camping trips and I am having a blast thank you so much for showing different styles of camping outside I truly learn a lot, i think this is better then school lol 👍 five stars out of five ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Shooting these types of videos is hard work. Especially a good one. Believe it or not, these videos have helped my son and me with knots and how to camp properly. The knots, the different types of kits for specific environments, dude, these videos are pure education along with the positive side notes. With everything going on today, these videos become even more valuable. Keep it up!
Now that was cool. Nice video. Stealthy is always good. I’m not trying to get brownie points but I watch other similar videos. Yours are the top tier. No disrespect to the others trying to help. 👍🏻🙏🏼
My 7 year old daughter found my compass in my backpack yesterday and was asking how to use it. So I replayed this video for her and she's hooked. She wants to watch more videos and "Learn tips to go camping." Thanks for making. Your videos :) we'll be catching up on older videos while waiting for the next new ones
First of all - great video! For increase the stealth, you can also cover your shelter with some branches and leafs. If its sandy area, you can weth the poncho from outside and put some local dust on it in order to get it's pattern closer to the background (of course, it's better not to use woodland camo on sand)). At least that's what we did in the military.
How can you not like this stuff. Something new and different every week. Absolutely no B.S. presentation on every topic. And when he starts cooking my friggin stomach starts growling.
Can’t tell you how many time I’ve watched and rewatched this video, one of my favorites of yours. Love the simplicity of this setup. Appreciate everything you do.
I love all of your videos. I just wish I had them 50 yrs ago so I could enjoy them more than just watching them. 72 now and not as active and agile. God bless. By the way, thanks for your service.
Karl Schubert it’s really not that bad where I’m at. It’s either take the risk and check yourself well or stay out of the woods. I noticed too that the Corporal wears long sleeve shirts. May have something to do with it.
We gotta keep this channel going! My younger sons learn alit from corporal kelly. Thing I haven't learned are being taught here. This is the kind of content we all need a little bit if . RUclips please keep this channel going. Thank you.
I really appreciate how Corporal says it like it is- most people will never need to escape and evade. He acknowledges aspects that make the hobby fun and focuses on those. Here’s a guy who’s got it sorted out.
I watched your channel in the past and quit due to self-promotion. I was wrong for doing that. I have re-subcribed. I just had shoulder surgery and have had a lot of free time. Your videos are informative and entertaining. They have expanded thoughts on different camp setups. Thanks for doing what you do. I'm happy AF about your videos. Keep it up!
Corporal, over the past month, your channel has become one of my favorites. I always look forward to the next bacon recipe! Keep up the great work! Semper Fi!
We're here, you just do, what you have to do. Just don't burn out, first things first. God and family first. Hang in there Corporal. Great content, as always.
During the COVID lockdowns, it basically became illegal to be homeless in my area. Lo and behold, I was homeless at the time, because my landlord wanted to get ahead of the eviction moratorium. So ironically enough, I was escaping and evading during covid, lol.
For me, I like the stealth camping option because I like being hidden from people. Trouble seems to invite itself over but if they don't see me then they won't come to me. And that is my number one reason for wanting to be hidden.
Hey Corporal! In case you weren't aware of it, BRCC has instant coffee sticks back in stock. I picked up a box myself and tried it. It's actually the best instant coffee I've ever tried. Just wanted to let you know so you can grab some before this batch disappears... Keep safe, stay dangerous
Is anyone else binge watching these after midnight? I cannot get enough of these videos. Liked and subscribed good sir. Going to watch the compass video next. But first I need to turn down my heating blanket.
As a gardener, I'm watching you build that fire pit, Dakota Fire Hole, thinking, man that's good dirt. What we got here in Tampa is sand and sandspurs. Because it would be damn funny, I'd love to see you "accidentally" pan the camera, in in that shot, for just a moment, there's like a 60 foot diesel pusher mobile home sitting just off camera. You're doing that coffee wrongly. Yep. Boil the water, put the coffee into the water, stir and let sit for a minute or so, then stir and pour into your strainer. Also, cotton flannel works damn well for me, as the strainer/filter. You don't need that paper crap. You can keep a handkerchief size piece of cotton flannel cloth and use that for years. I've got all kinds of coffee makers, but still boil my water, put in the coffee (heat off), stir, let sit for a minute or so, then stir and pour through my flannel strainer. Perfection. Even the strainer, just shake the coffee grounds off it, and let it dry. You can rinse it, but I don't most of the time, the seasoned filter makes better coffee. Love it!
Yep! My coffee maker died, so I resorted to making it as you've suggested. The method is a bit more hands on, It does however make a great cup of coffee. Thanks for sharing the knowledge.
You are someone! You are a DAD!! That is the most important job!!! We will watch when the videos come out, whenever they come out. I am binge watching now, it will give me time to catch up as i am new to this channel which is fantastic!!
Escape and evade... Never been exposed in any formal way. What a concept. If it ever becomes necessary, "camping" is not even going to enter my mind. Not here, not likely, not yet!
I'm surprised more people don't include a bug net or bug suit in their gear. Ticks up here can carry Lyme disease and the Mosquito 🦟 will keep you up all night preventing sleep. You can rough it, sure.. but it's such a tiny item that can make such a huge difference.
I’m rockin with you when I find you However FAMILY COME FIRST. THANK YOU SOOO VERY MUCH FOR YOUR TEACHINGS!!! I’m a military dependent widow. USAF and my hubby never taught me the things you have. God bless you!!!!!!!
Truly an outstanding video: Great camera work, teaching skills; a demonstration, a little humor and "that's not even an acquired taste." Just so you know an every other week video works for this viewer too.
I can’t wait to try this with my Marines when we go to the field next time. I want to see what this fire is like and how long it will take my boys. Keep up the awesome footage!! Semper
We thank you and appreciate what you do what's corporal's corner, the skills that you are teaching will help many people survive what's coming, that's why I thank God for you !!!
I am an old lady but I sure to love your camping tips. Who knows, maybe I will need them someday escaping from my "rest home?"LOL! I was a girl scout and so once I knew the knots you teach and how to locate myself in the woods. It has been a good practice, kinda like they say dancing does for old people with memory issues. Plus who knows, scaling out the window and making it on the run, these things may be helpful too, right? But one thing I wish you would show us is how to make a latrine. Nobody does this and while it may be an embarrassing issue it is also needed out there in the middle of nowhere. It is also not just about going to the bathroom, there is teeth care, bathing, and other things one can do if no water is available or even with fresh water nearby. Only where there is saltwater also is something that some information may be helpful. I hope this helps! Love, Cat in Seattle
“Cat”, quit Pervin, just tell him you want to see his trouser pet. He is more than just a bad*ss shakin it down making presentable luxurious 10 star meals, he’s a person too. #men are people too. Ok, I need some sleep, sorry Cat, you’re correct though, I’d love to see what ingenious ideas he comes up with for those things, sorry about the “trouser pet” comment I guess I got triggered, been watching too much news lately...
@@robertpotts7589 Oh my Lord, Robert. I do not need to see anything untoward from this nice young man (red cheeks)! LOL! I just want to see some ideas about this. I suspect nowadays there are all sorts of camping rules about this issue. For example, if I had to use the latrine in the middle of the night, how and where could it be so I would not A.Fall into it B. Be able to get to it fast C. how to leave a small footprint once I leave camp D. Not contaminate my camping area and E. Not attract animals to my camping area? In scouts, we did learn some of this however I have forgotten the details. But (no pun intended) that was over 60 years ago. Things may have and probably have changed. Let us know OK Mr. Corporal's Corner? (Now I am running away to hide my red face). Love, Mama Cat (what my kids and their friends call me)
@@mntleo2 Why I was searching thru videos Ms. Mama Cat. I think it's an excellent question. It's one mostly for women. And it's a few young ladies I'll tromping thru the woods with me when it is run to the hills time. Touchy situation. The Forest, females, monthlys. Excellent question. I need the answers. My Native American people's have clued me into a few things. Being said. Praying you safe and blessed Mama Cat&Corporal
Great videos...I'm learning alot...you're a great instructor...I can only imagine the amount of pre and post production you're doing to make this happen every week. Hang in there!
My favorite compass story. The azimuth we were given was 358 degrees. It took us directly to our objective, Levelly transversing a mountain. Coming back, we followed the back azimuth. I found it odd, that we were going slightly uphill, when we came in going level. It was supposed to be about 500 meters, but I stated having doubts when our return hit 75m. At 100 meters, of breaking trail through a dense forest, I asked the person with the compass if she was sure she knew what she was doing. She said yes. After going uphill a little longer, I asked a very important question: "Are you following the needle, or the compass?" "She asked me, what's the difference?" I took the compass from her and showed the difference between 0 and 358 degrees. Not much, and of course, she told me so. Well, I did a 90 degree turn and went down hill 20 - 30 meters, putting us half way down the road, we were supposed to go down. 2 degrees isn't very much to look at, but when traveling a long distance, it could mean life or death. Her following the needle put us right above our objective, but missing that road head, on the return, created a lot more work and effort for us. In a serious situation, it could be life or death. Imagine if it had been off 20-30 degrees, instead of 2. Remember people, you are following the compass, not the needle. The needle gives you a known direction, but the compass is pointing in the direction you want to go.
Gregg Mouritzen - Just trying to understand. Should your last sentence not state that the “needle” gives you a known direction but the compass points in the direction you want to go?
Hey Corporal. I always thought you shot these videos in California and could never understand why everything it looks exactly like it does here in Pennsylvania. I didn’t know you were in the East half of the month so thanks for the explanation. Now it all makes sense. Also, I just want to thank you for doing these videos. You put a lot of work into your camps to make them different and interesting, and I for one really appreciate it. You’re entertaining as hell and that slanted smile ain’t bad either. 😉
you know that ive been seeing your videos on knots an in hooked in knoting everything that i can in my house! i love it! still practicing! humm! now i wanna tie up my nephews when they drive me crazy! Thanx i got an idea now! love the 8 essential knots!
If I never learned anything about camping from your shows, I can say I learned a crap load of different mind blowing recipes of delicious camp food. Thanks for your famous cooking shows.
@@recall5811 - you are the top tube in my recommend from RUclips, they put you 8 recommends out of 10. But I haven't learned anything about camping or survival, bush craft. That I didn't already know. That's why I complemented your meal choices. But hey if you took it the wrong way, an got offended, then sorry and bye.
Stop saying , " without you guys , I'm nothing ", that's not true! I've no doubt your family would beg to differ! As I said before , God loves you and what your doing! No God , ergo , no family , no country! FYI , your son is a power house! Godspeed!
This channel is so relaxing. It's a great way to wind down post work. Seeing the techniques in warm and cold climates is awesome! Hope to try it in my country, corporal style!

Appreciate the effort you put into your videos. it doesn't go unacknowledged. Peace.

Yes, please more stealth camping!
@@kevola5739 Yes, woops.

Krispy Kreme bacon cheeseburger... that which does not kill us will only make us stronger!!!
That's a great little shelter. That Dakota fire pit does make for a clean burn.

I enjoy your videos- practical, educational and fun. Keep it up please!
