    I have to admit -I always have a certain fascination with luxurious places, such as those hotels. But in truth: place like the village where you could buy coconuts for 5 yuan are more beautiful, sincere. and appealing.

      If you book a room at the luxurious hotel, and then rent a moped/motorcycle and travel around the island, you can have the best of both worlds.

      China is So big but so much diverse than united states! if you go to Beijing you get Ancient History of Chinese Civilization, If you go to Shanghai Or greater Bay Area You get Amazing Cities With advance technology, If You go to Hainan You get Tropical Paradise like In South East Asia Countries, But If You Want The Most Beautiful Paradise In the World Just Go to Yunnan China! (There's Naxi People, Tibet Area Or Kunming city) The west Never know True China if Just See though their media!

    I got so excited when I saw the black sesame soup! I eat it once a week for years since I'm lucky to have a Korean dessert chain near my house that serves many Chinese dishes as well! Sesame seeds are naturally anti-inflammatory and sesame soup is one of the only things that gives me relief from my arthritis inflammation and pain. It's delicious and a life saver for me. It made me smile so much to see that's why people are lining up! 🥰🥰

    As i see now, circumstances also have changed there within the last 20 years. When i was in Sanya Yalong Bay in Winter 1998, there have been very very few hotels and the beach was free to go from all sides. Even 2 years later when my wife and me married just a few days before we hat a 1-week Honeymoon there at the Resort Horizon Complex, and still all the beach everywhere could be entered for free. Now, since we live nearby WenChang we normally have no reason to go down to Sanya, we love it much more quiet and not crowded. But in Wintertime - from middle o end of October until April Hainan seaside is much crowded by the mainland people, many of them have bought one or more flats in the living areas around. Often we consider to "escape" Hainan during this period and flee inside China - but at the end we almost always stay here, because we love our island.

    We stayed at that hotel for a week last Dec. Was around $500USD for a family room with kids beds(low season price) you get unlimited access to the waterpark and aquarium. Anyone can enter the hotel as their waterpark and aquarium are open to the public with entry ticket purchase. The beach is not private there is no cordon off area or security. Not worth it if your kids are under 7-8yr olds as many waterpark rides are off limits to smaller kids. you're basically paying for easy access to the waterpark. You could find a 3bed room airbnb like rental apartments nearby that's absolute luxury, with full 180 view of the whole clove for $200USD a night.

    • @大象大头
      @大象大头 8 месяцев назад +12

      @@WalkingSideways So the mention of beach privatization in the video has always made me feel skeptical. Because it is impossible for China's land to privatize some natural landscapes. It should be open to the public and may require ticket fees. But these expenses are ultimately handed over to the government. Alternatively, the government may contract the landscape to a certain tourism company, but will need to pay management fees to the government. I have never encountered a case in China where natural landscapes are privately owned

    • @davec110
      @davec110 8 месяцев назад +7

      @@WalkingSideways In her capitalist mind she imagine it? No land in China is privately owned lol Most visitors go and play in the waterpark than the beach. Like every 5 start hotel there are multiple restaurants located inside that's open to the public too.

If you have not done so, I recommend giving the fire 'treading' a go. We refer to it as 'firewalking' in the UK. I have done about 16 times now, with no injuries! Takes you to another level of what you can achieve. Hainan is certainly a place that I would like to visit. I could even see myself living there. It being so relaxed. I am a latecomer to your vlog, but I am so glad I made it. I am now going backwards to catch all your videos. The one about the mountains where the Kazakhs live just blew me away. This one is very fine too.

    oh man, just an online search, shows that The Rosewood Sanya hotel is even more expensive than the Atlantis. There were a few others that are more expensive than Atlantis. Atlantis currently shows around $220 -$250 per night.
