I have to admit -I always have a certain fascination with luxurious places, such as those hotels. But in truth: place like the village where you could buy coconuts for 5 yuan are more beautiful, sincere. and appealing.
As a person who has only lived in the US the one thing your channel has taught me is how little I know about China. Very few platforms show the real China up close. Thank you so much. Sending you many merits from the USA..😊🙏
you would most likely be shocked by how much lie and misinformation American media delivers on a daily basis to brainwash their citizens if you actually live in East Asia, or even parts of middle east and Africa for longer periods of times.
China is So big but so much diverse than united states! if you go to Beijing you get Ancient History of Chinese Civilization, If you go to Shanghai Or greater Bay Area You get Amazing Cities With advance technology, If You go to Hainan You get Tropical Paradise like In South East Asia Countries, But If You Want The Most Beautiful Paradise In the World Just Go to Yunnan China! (There's Naxi People, Tibet Area Or Kunming city) The west Never know True China if Just See though their media!
@buddhabro.9130: You mean how little most of the WORLD knows about China unless they find their way to this type of content from a native Chinese speaker who speaks English and can travel and document. This channel is highly under-rated.
I appreciate that ‘here’s the expensive hotel… I’m not going in’ followed by going to another hotel and having a coupon. Definitely how I plan when travelling.
beach are not privatized. the hotel and the waterpark is open to the public. we stayed at that hotel for a week. she was misinformed or didn't want to find out.
I got so excited when I saw the black sesame soup! I eat it once a week for years since I'm lucky to have a Korean dessert chain near my house that serves many Chinese dishes as well! Sesame seeds are naturally anti-inflammatory and sesame soup is one of the only things that gives me relief from my arthritis inflammation and pain. It's delicious and a life saver for me. It made me smile so much to see that's why people are lining up! 🥰🥰
I love your scooter and drone POVs. We make a special time to sit and watch your videos together. Always inspiring and informative. Thank you for all you do, your hard work and video expertise. : )
Thank you for another amazing video. I am happy you add Chinese subtitles, I compare them to every Chinese word I already know and they are very motivating to study! The small village and the beach were beautiful, the people so kind. Somehow the modern hotels look like in any developed tourist area across the planet. It's good that there is still some rest of the charming rural area.
A++++ video. Great video! I truly enjoy your simplistic approach in presenting China, your excellent drone work, and you definitely deserved a 7 star hotel stay! Excellent work.
As i see now, circumstances also have changed there within the last 20 years. When i was in Sanya Yalong Bay in Winter 1998, there have been very very few hotels and the beach was free to go from all sides. Even 2 years later when my wife and me married just a few days before we hat a 1-week Honeymoon there at the Resort Horizon Complex, and still all the beach everywhere could be entered for free. Now, since we live nearby WenChang we normally have no reason to go down to Sanya, we love it much more quiet and not crowded. But in Wintertime - from middle o end of October until April Hainan seaside is much crowded by the mainland people, many of them have bought one or more flats in the living areas around. Often we consider to "escape" Hainan during this period and flee inside China - but at the end we almost always stay here, because we love our island.
Thy Eyes travel with you Yan,across the area Sanya Hainan, the most interesting part was the stay at the little village & have a coconut juice, & share their lunch of small fried Fish what Lovely people, you never got a Chance to look at the Big Hotels, but you Flew your Little Drone over head, showing normal modern Hotel settings with swimming polls extra, I saw one big Helicopter parked near by the one section of the Big Hotel area, Its a shame only the Wealthy can stay there, to be Honest they can keep the Glorified Cement Towers , I love the more Natural areas in China that I have seen on your videos & like the small villages just beautiful ,Natural Beauty is much better, on a whole Yan, a Great video, loved the scenery , on a whole, Regards Trevor.W.Bacelli. We stayed at that hotel for a week last Dec. Was around $500USD for a family room with kids beds(low season price) you get unlimited access to the waterpark and aquarium. Anyone can enter the hotel as their waterpark and aquarium are open to the public with entry ticket purchase. The beach is not private there is no cordon off area or security. Not worth it if your kids are under 7-8yr olds as many waterpark rides are off limits to smaller kids. you're basically paying for easy access to the waterpark. You could find a 3bed room airbnb like rental apartments nearby that's absolute luxury, with full 180 view of the whole clove for $200USD a night.
@@WalkingSideways So the mention of beach privatization in the video has always made me feel skeptical. Because it is impossible for China's land to privatize some natural landscapes. It should be open to the public and may require ticket fees. But these expenses are ultimately handed over to the government. Alternatively, the government may contract the landscape to a certain tourism company, but will need to pay management fees to the government. I have never encountered a case in China where natural landscapes are privately owned
@@WalkingSideways In her capitalist mind she imagine it? No land in China is privately owned lol Most visitors go and play in the waterpark than the beach. Like every 5 start hotel there are multiple restaurants located inside that's open to the public too.
that drone brought it all into focus because for a moment it looked like you were in hawaii or tropical island somewhere. loved it, seeing sights never seen before thanks to you, incredible!
I went to Sanya in 2017 of a tour of China and I absolutely loved it. I can't wait to return here one day. I've binged some of your videos and love your drone footage and editing of these tourism vlogs. Keep up the great work!
I am so happy to know that there is a place in China that is similar to the Philippines. I am from the Philippines, we have coconuts, mangoes and the small fish that you tasted, we call it "Dilis" 😊😊😊
These are the areas of China which aren't showcased online as much! Such a beautiful region!😍 Your videos have showcased the diversity in landscapes of various regions in China! Thank you for sharing this with us 💝
Hainan having the same tropical climate as my country Malaysia, the night market selling the sweet deserts also have here. The oysters yummy 🤤 and I loved to try the dessert you had for your dinner
It's great to see your channel growing Yan! And such a beautiful area with a contrast of those living 'simply' offering wonderful hospitality and the amazing upmarket hotels. If you have not done so, I recommend giving the fire 'treading' a go. We refer to it as 'firewalking' in the UK. I have done about 16 times now, with no injuries! Takes you to another level of what you can achieve. Hainan is certainly a place that I would like to visit. I could even see myself living there. It being so relaxed. Your bike riding has come on leaps and bounds, the way you handled the dirt road was impressive!! Thank you, as always for sharing your adventures!!
It seems most days you are in Hainan, the weather there is blue-sky and warm. I would be sun-bathing on the beach everyday. Thanks for another nice video.
Yan, congratulations on gaining 300,000 followers, which means your videos are popular with people like me. I want to ask you about the specific location of the market where you ate at the end of your video.
Way to go! I always enjoy more watching your video showing your interaction with local residents (including their foods) as well as the rural destinations. Keep it up !
The rural coconut countryside is very friendly in beautiful natural scenery. The local temple is well maintained in old tradition. The luxurious hotel site is nice, privatized to attract international tourism. I prefer the free natural life in Hainan villages. You are the best thanks for your hard work. God bless and keep you throughout the time.😊
I didn't know this tropical side of China! Quite interesting! With so many coconut trees everywhere, it looks like Philippines or a South American country.
Haha. That soup you had in the end- chicken shit vine soup- is most interesting. It looks like a darker version of the sweet and sour soup that is served in a lot of Chinese restaurants all over the US. Beautiful show. Thank you.
Direct translation is duck shit vine, lol People use this kind of weird name "duck shit" usually is to describe the colour. It has nothing to do with you know what. XD
Hi Yan, you always bring happiness and show us the new beautiful places in China ❤ You're like the light 🕯️ in this Dark Tunnel, especially during these times. I’m from Malaysia and I have to say hainan looks exactly like something that you can find here especially with the coconut trees. A lot of Chinese Malaysians ancestors are also from hainan too 😸
