Sir presentation is good for basic understanding the process .coating of 8mm of refractory on mould surface seems to be more .it should be o.8 ideally or in some instances.1.4mm please clarify

Refractory material is coated up to 0.8mm thickness.

Sir ,why during stuccoing ,initially fine grain sand are used and then coarse grains .
Why such type of coating is done?

This is done so as to obtain the desired section thickness ( which is about 6-15mm), otherwise it would take multiple stuccoing iterations, which would increase the amount of labour manual work and hence the expenses.

May be bcz of the reason it imparts good strength to the mould produced. As we construct the walls with alternate layers of mortar and bricks.

Fine grains gives better surface finish. So this layer is coated near the wall
