    Sir, when fine grain structure will produce, hot or cold working process?

      if hot worked component is cooled rapidly at the periphery we are more prone to get fine grain structure
      this is the same case as of that casting solidification

    i can't understand how deforming the metal at higher temperatures (above RT) can decrease the average grain size.

      That is called grain recovery,as elongated grain breaks into finer grains

    Let us assume that a material has been subjected to both hot and cold working to same extent of deformation. Please give a comparative study of mechanical properties of cold worked and hot worked material.

      In cold working you can products of Close dimensional tolerance whereas you can't do that with hot working....
