I went with the x870e aorus elite and the cl 36 8000 48gb kingston kit. Hopefully I get all my parts soon hahaha! Going to be painful having two weeks off from work without the ability to use my new rig (waiting on the 5090/9800x3d)
Regarding Sleep mode, I ran into this a while back on my X670E Taichi. I eventually found a suggestion from Reddit (I think) to enable Hibernate by going to: Control Panel -> Power Options -> Choose what the power buttons do -> Shutdown settings -> Hibernate - Show in the Power menu. You may need to click the link for "Change settings that are currently unavailable" so that the Hibernate option isn't grayed out. Click the checkbox next to Hibernate, which will enable it in the Power menu. Waking from Hibernate takes longer than waking from Sleep, but it resets or otherwise prevents the performance issues.
yes even a lower binned 6400c32 kit reaches up to 11000 , almost every modern hynix can go beyond 10K , pretty easily. But the timings you see here might be too tight for a random kit so test it.
Any luck with 8200 or 8400 on this board? The Tomahawk max stable frequency seems to be DDR5-8100 even on an 8700F, though I think it's not as optimized on 8000-series CPUs.
Glad it was just a HWInfo update required and not something else wrong. On the other hand, do you know whether a 2x48GB kit of Hynix M-die can do 8000Mhz? Might attempt it on my 7800x3d or 9950x3d if I get that first before trying
Been seeing some rumors and progress on chip packaging (I think amd also had a new patent recently?) on how AMD's gonna integrate their IO-die into chip stacking together with the same 2nd 3d vcache,, how would you think this would impact memory overclocking in the future?
So would you say these GSkill 8000 are the ADie to get when comparing to other offers for 8000 on the market, for AMD? ( to be used with a 9800x3D ) ? The other possibility on my list, would be TeamGroup Xtreem 8000, but those are XMP only.
hi ive got a question. what is the best affordable z690/790 board for oc? im not thinking of hardcore overclocking but at least 7200mhz is what i aim for
This is exactly the video I was hoping for. I have an Asrock X870E Taichi // G.skill TridentZ5 Neo // DDR5-6200 CL28 (Hynix 16Gb A-die single rank) 1:1 mode // Ryzen 9 7950X3D setup. I will be trying your setup to see if 8000 MT/s work for me. Thanks
BZ in the Dram performance mode settings it has competitive and aggressive settings that changes vddp voltages ect check those out , I see you left it on default Agesa settings , I’m running mine on Asrock Nova Agressive settings at 8400/2100.ADie sticks, 9800x3d.
G-skill's RAM config tool on their website says my Aorus X870 mobo can run 7200 Trident Z5 Neo. Can that tool be trusted? It's the only kit they have that can run on my board. Just a 32gb kit. For now I am just sticvking with 6000 Expo G-skill stuff. Stable is good, but faster would be nice if it works and is not janky. P.S. Did you try running a 9950X yet? I am wondering if my one will be fussy about what memory it will work with.
I have this took forever to tune 28 37 37 37 1.3 vsoc 1.47/1.45 mem volts. Im still interested in seeinf how this compares to 8000. Or how it compares if its worth trying 6600 looser timings. Ive not had a stable 6600 experience at all.
Ive got the non-lite taichi and I've tried two ram kits on the QVL rated for 8000 and they won't pass ram training. One kit does XMP and the other EXPO. 9800x3D and 24gb x2 m die and I gotta settle for 6000mhz sadly.
Mann that’s disappointing. I think a-die might be the way to go, also do you notice all the ramkits they validated are pretty old and no updates to qvl. I have to think that it’s so many bios ago that a lot probably don’t work without tweaking.. I also have taichi (non lite)
Gonna be picking up some of Corsair vengeance 8000 cl36 kits, the cooler is questionable and it runs at 1.5v but could be good and should be a-die 9800x3d taichi x870e I’m starting to think this board works very well with A-die

Is a high-quality M-Die 6000 kit capable of achieving this?

I think he may be talking about 16 Gbit M-die, not 24 Gbit, in which case it may be difficult to achieve.
Im just getting temped to get this board. This is perfect

Haven't tried really pushing for higher clocks yet. I briefly tried 8200 on the tomahawk but that wasn't very stable even with the 9700X.
Glad it was just a HWInfo update required and not something else wrong.

Yay!
8000 🙄
CL 34 😳
You insane, I love it.

should help infinity fabric, not necessarily memory overclocking though.

I think he hasn’t tried every kit but this one works, I’m sure others could work too, I’m gonna try a Corsair 8000cl36 kit

Time to take out the tachyon and find out what these 8000 kits and 9700x can do.. push it to xtreme limits :)
Where can i download memcrunch?
it's Ycruncher.
Would you be interested in tweaking this kit to a 6400MHz CL28 1:1 ratio? That would be the best case for Ryzen.

I wander if tRAS = tRP would be stable on 8000 mhz.
For me on 7600 it can do it, but since 8000 is just unstable anyway, I can no try it.
it probably would.
if you set vdd above 0.1v from vddq tphyrdl mismatches
Doesn't for me (in 1:1)
Vddp literally powers the phy….
