The Feelies + Wire + Television + Every Richard Hell Side Thing + Texas Sensibilities + New York Art Scene = Parquet Courts, one of the most promising American acts out there.
more going on here than in the entire output of U2, Simple Minds, Queen, Guns n Roses and any other stadium act put together. Rock n roll and small venues. Marvellous
I think that's intentional, anybody can drop some shred riffs but sometimes that's not what the song needs. I think this bassist helps so much to drive or groove the band in ways a crazy virtuoso wouldn't fathom.
One, Two, Three, Four...¡ONETWOTHREEFOUR!
It’s all about that part. It’s perfect
LITERALLY

I love how both title tracks from Light Up Gold and Sunbathing Animal could be played back to back, almost seamlessly.
i love how andrew looks completely different in every video ive seen of him
i have watched this about a billion times and it never gets old
Jumping around to them playing Sunbathing animal live was one of the most ecstatic experiences of my life.

I love barre chords barre chords are my favorite chords
Man Sunbathing Animal just does not have the same energy it has when it's played live.
Agreed. Live it feels rough and toned down. Listen to it on disc it's got this energy.
Niiiice. Ramones, Beasties, a hint of Wire.....
A lot of promise
FUCKIN' BRILLIANT!!!!!

Punk is dead but it death farted in Williamsburg
The bassist probably played about 5 different notes through the whole 2 songs repeatedly. I like the band but the bassist is terrible
I think that's intentional, anybody can drop some shred riffs but sometimes that's not what the song needs. I think this bassist helps so much to drive or groove the band in ways a crazy virtuoso wouldn't fathom.
Doubt that but i get your point
iakovos harvey they are showing how minimalistic music can be while still being good. It's called punk.
Check out fugazis bassist. Then tell me punk basslines are minimalistic
Not all are. The Ramones, arguably the best punk band, have super simple basslines. Sometimes all you need is one chord for you particular sound.
