They're killer! I saw them in Atlanta Summer of 2018. They are in my top 5 favorite bands, easy! The last of a dying breed in terms od REAL rock'n'roll bands.
Ive seen them 2 times in México, they were fire but the better show was when they played a small venue, was getting andrews sweat and i even managed to sing (forgetting some lyrics doe) of wide awake
@@axelbergstrom4585 sometime they sound a bit like the band Wire , so I get it. Their Americana influences tend to shine through for me a bit more though
Black Midi is fcking sick but they're a tad bit pretentious in my opinion. yea I know they're talented as heck but I love how raw and unbridled Parquet Courts are. also Andrew Savage is GOAT
This tune is an almost exact replica of Th' Faith Healers, an unheralded but amazing band from the 90's. Before the singer opened his yap, I honestly thought they were doing a cover of the tune, the title of which escapes me. I hope they at least acknowledge where that tune came from. p.s. Th' Faith Healers produced two albums, both of which are sublime.
Parquet Courts are not mediocre in the slightest. Their lyricism is poignant and thought provoking, with the call to arms and indignant attitude of ancestral punk music. They have a wide range of song styles, from anthemic bangers to languishing slow jams. They're a guide to modern day punk, grunge, whatever imo. But to each their own.

The eruption into the start of "almost had to start a fight" at 4:20. Unbelievable
Insane!
Haha that's the marijuana number

What a great live band
the drumming in the patience riff totally kicks ass
Christ that pit looks fun
it was! definitely on the mellow side but for a festival, it was incredible
Best band on the planet.
Other than the mix being awful, I love how the producers are focusing on Andrew for the first song, even though he isn't the lead vocal on it.
They played way more than these two songs despite it getting cut short...
it's up there if you know where to find it. maybe try googling "You said "parquet courts is punk". Are they in the same family?" ;)

The Fall were indeed a great band.
Cool
My boi on the bass is a pair of glasses far from looking like Ed Kemper
Given how he absolutely _murders_ those basslines, I'd say he's not far off
