King gizzard & the lizard wizard has honestly been my biggest inspiration to make my own band 🥁🎸
In 2014 I was 15/16 and got into Thee oh sees. By this point i had been playing guitar for a few years and had done all my "required" music listening, but hadn't really gotten into many contemporary acts. John blew my mind and turned my world upside down. I had been recording a little bit of music at that point but once i saw Thee oh sees I knew i had to buckle down and do it. 6 years later and nothing has changed.
Most certainly - more than ty segall, gizz, ORB, or even the white stripes.

Saw these guys 5 times in Chicago. First time was 2012 at Empty Bottle. Took a girl on our first date to see them. We now have a kid. Power of music.

The drum beat is so simple, but the drummer looks like it hurts. My conclusion: he is tripping mad ballz.
If so I wouldn't understand how he's doing it. I tried playing my guitar on acid once. It was the most challenging thing I've ever done.

I used to play along to this one by shaking two uncle ben's rice boxes and dancing around the living room.
There’s something elemental about this track and this particular performance. Thank god for the internet - I love the anarchic drive of this whole unit.
Pitchfork Music Festival 2012 had so many great acts. Must have been a blast!
Brigid Dawson is a goddess which makes the rest of the genius complete! Wish they could return to this line-up....future music history....Pixies of the current age...

No you're right it's a jazzmaster. They look quite different (3 jaguar style pick ups on the VI, four switches on one panel and a slightly different body shape) I'm tired of the number of people who try to look like gear nerds but can't tell a jazzmaster and a bass VI apart.
