I use a black poster board and then use a small led light set to blue. Then I have some other lights around it to light up the figure. Usually, yellow on the left side and then some white from the front/side

I want it no matter what flaws the base it has is great (the base might be only for the collector's edition video gams thingy)
Yeah, the base that comes with the video game version is nice. I used a base from another figure

That cape isn't so bad. Not ideal but if I was into Sand Land it wouldn't be a deal breaker. (Doubly so when it comes with alternatives that work.) Considering some of SHF's past QC issues, they knocked it out of the park with this one.
But speaking of their QC issues, they're what's holding me back from pre-ordering the Ace. It looks amazing in the promo shots, but with their releases being so inconsistent it ends up being a considered / risky purchase. Do better, Bandai!!
And it seems the Teen Gohan has some concerns

@@fillerbunnyninjashark271 well I'm going off what ppl who bought shfiguarts figures, show us on the screen. Plus eBay and other websites prices are. Besides you can't compare, one countries prices to another. Take uk for example. On eBay there's an item that says 55 pounds or quid in American that's $38.00. I only know that bc that's what it says on eBay.
It always sucks trying to get imports. Sometimes trying to order from AmiAmi when they release in Japan they sell out

I've read the manga and watched the show (and my kid has the game, but I haven't played it) and I think both are fine, but what I really enjoy is just the look of this guy. Great character design by Toriyama so I felt compelled to grab this figure too. Echo your sentiments on that cape - it makes him really frustrating to handle, but once posed and locked into place it looks good, at least. I was definitely turned off by the price tag, but I will say he comes with a lot of stuff and they really put some thought into how this guy could be displayed. Seems to be designed to be a one-off so, unlike Goku, you won't have to buy a dozen different Beelzebubs. Really expressive, poses nice (when the cape isn't driving you nuts), and it's a fun figure to have handy when I feel like fidgeting at my desk. Now to decide if I'll need to add any other characters from the show.
At least the other characters are available as a two pack. You can check out “Open Please” for a review of those two. Hope your kid is enjoying the game
