Queen is my favourite tank ATM. It scratches something inside my brain. She doesn’t play like a frontline tank even when it kinda seems like she should at first glance. She’s not meant to “tank” for the team necessarily, she is supposed to play cover and get picks on squishes while slowly pushing up on the team, or going in when your team gets a pick during a team fight. She can also go in when someone is isolated from the team or is unaware. I actually think she has a lower pick rate compared to other tanks because she requires good game sense/knowledge of her kit to stay alive. However I think she is one of the funnest tanks to play and is extremely satisfying to pop off with

Assuming Overbuff is correct, and that quite a big assumption, Winston just explodes due to all the damage, and someone like D.va is better as she can eat a lot of that damage, when play right.

As long as you aren’t 3head jumping into a 5 stacked team with no bubble and no LOS for healers you aren’t going to self destruct. It just takes basic engagement knowledge to not die on winston IMO. Plus the fact you have a GOOJ free card with his ult that also can kill squishies easily (that part has some high ass skill floor tho tbh). That said, i’m probably just biased because i one trick monkey every comp every map 🤷🏼♂️

While Dva's matrix can outlast it and can eat ults, having a big bubble you can either place to defend the "core" of your team or to go for a hit, and provide protection for your tracer or any other dive heroes or frontliners who go in with you. This is easier to pull off than diving in as Dva and trying to stay on target all while trying to matrix for your tracer or whoever goes with you, since it only covers a few metres directly ahead of you vs. a big bubble you can stafe in and out of
Honestly, even though I am a Lifeweaver one trick, JQ is the most balanced tank, and one of the most fun heroes in my opinion. Even against her bad matchups, I still find ways to get value either through my knife, or commanding shout. Her ultimate is one of the best ultimates in the game in my opinion, and the fact she does not need to rely on her team as much as a Reinhardt or a Ramattra also makes her one of the better solo tanks. I don’t want to see JQ get changed, since she is really one of the only few tanks that feels fair to play against.
You messed up in many ways with the pick rates in overbuff at the beginning. Its a bit long to explain in txt but here is a summary: Overbuff looks at your career profile, it cant know about queue times/ amount of player in queue. A hero's pickrate on overbuff is the playtime of hero/total playtime for all players. Tank queue times are the blue ones, 1.8min in 6v6, 1.3 min in 5v5. Not the /2 reduction, you confounded it with dps. There are a lot of misunderstandings considering statistics on overbuff. Please consider mentionning this if possible:) Anw thanks for the vid!
Queen is the definition of adrenaline rush and satisfaction put together shes awesome I’ve very rarely ever played a game where I felt like I couldn’t win and I think she’s well designed she just needs something to make it even in the tank battle for dva or ramatra
The main reason i think people don’t use queen in quick play is because they don’t understand how her healing works or don’t know it even exists. Whenever my friend tries to play queen he keeps asking me how the healing works and he dies so quickly, but when i play queen i dominate quick play and my friends think she is broken.
im someone who is relatively new to overwatch, iv recently tried out queen and have been having a lot of fun, im someone who plays a lot of fps games so using her abilities together just came naturally to me, though if someone was less familiar to fps games and i see them having a harder time with that.

She is really fun to play when everything lands and you roll people, but I think she has really strong off-tank vibes on her kit. She'll be really fun in 6v6 when it comes back.
she has such a good design and character likeability but its just hard to pick to make you need to work harder for anything just the slightest bit of damage is hard to do compared to other tanks
commanding shout is a boring ability, it’s not fun to look at or use, yet it’s her most impactful ability. Players like to feel like they are doing something which explains her low pick rate. It probably also explains why a lot of other heroes have a higher pick rate rein for example had 3 abilities that look and feel amazing and an ultimate that does too. It’s all about the feel factor when it comes to character design.
Speed boost from shout is fun tho. JQ is one of those heroes where the audio really carries the fun aspect of a hero. I think she’s not picked as much since she really needs a lot of team coordination.

Always loved playing her, especially now after her buffs. Although for me it wasn't because she's strong. But because they got her hero fantasy down perfect. I feel like the bloody doomslayer running around the battlefield, bashing peoples heads in. Her voice actress did an amazing job extenuating that. And nothing of that goes away for me, even when we are loosing. That's all just coming from the perspective of a casual player here. Tbh if overwatch could make the players say "its still fun, even while loosing" on even half the roster, it would probably triple the player count
Yes, exactly. A hero this fun to play and listen to makes you avoid the tilt that comes with picking other characters if you find yourself losing. It helps that junker queen has some of the best solo playmaking and solo sustain of any of the tanks imo, while still feeling fair.
because she's fun but easily countered by kiriko, ana and more (doom is countered more tho) and she doesnt tank well. she's my main on tank rn and one of my favorite characters in ow. muscle mommy superiority

I hate seeing guys just rushing into the enemy team and shooting with the double mini guns all the time.. it's stupid and you just play dps and you don't do your part and besides if people play well you're dead because they're just going to counter you because mauga is one of the easiest tanks to counter people forget that he can heal allies and reduce the damage that everyone takes i main mauga and he's the only tank that gives me this feeling of being able to help.. i use my cage as a shield for my allies i heal my allies i set fire to the enemies to make them flee.. i love this character
Tank queue times were not sliced by over half, youre thinking of damage. The graph shows 1.8 to 1.3 for tank. Also tank has shorter queue times than damage and support not longer. Idk how less tank players would result in a longer queue since they are in high deman for matches. Probably an honest mistake, still a good video.
i think you mixed up low and high for skill floor. A low skill floor means they are hard for beginners and a high skill floor means they are easy for beginners.
@@cermity it was never a super popular role in overwatch 1, but now the solo tank format makes it even harder for new players to want to play because its a cerebral role, there is a lot to manage compared to other roles and there are less "turn your brain off and shoot" moments like you can do for dps and support, so it doesn't appeal to the kids who come from other shooters. plus counterswapping and being forced to choose the "better" tank due to power creep of certain tanks, and all the tanks are competing for just one spot on the team. when the 6v6 trials come back tank will be much better.

But she is just too much fun for me not to play her, idc if Ram is better I'll still go JQ until I think I can't just off of fun factor alone. She scratches my ADHD brain just right JUST LIKE DVA does, hence why I basically only play them on Tank to start and swap from there if needed.
Simple. JQ is a glorified DPS who is supposed to tank. It's conflicting design. Her drain tank style can work, but she struggles into many matchups. More importantly, she isn't a good tank. All she does is shout around allies to pad their survivability a tad, but her main spiel is trying to kill to make space.
you might've meant that her skill floor is LOW for JQ and HIGH for mauga. low skill floor means the minimum skill puts you at a low contribution by default. as opposed to a high skill floor, with minimum skill putting you at a relatively high contribution. i think the general ideal is low floor and high ceiling for any given hero, which allows for many different playstyles to be represented in the range.
JQ is a ton of fun, but she isn't worth playing right now. Most tanks destroy her and if you start winning they'll swap to dog shit easy Mauga. She only feels good into dive tanks imo. I play Sig 95% of the time I'm tank, so i dont necessarily feel the need to counter anything and when i do JQ is not it.
She is shity tank, low team protection, low utility, low surviability, her ult isn't win insantly a fight, unlike lost of tanks. Queen plays more like a dps, and having Queen over an actuall tank isn't good for a bunch of randoms, I myself only play her in flex where people wilingly pick tanks, giving me room for it.

She's really tanky if you're constantly getting bleeds I think the problem is that you have to ride a fine line of being aggressive but not feeding

Knife is hilarious to use. Fun. Usually switch between Sig and Zar. Was learning JQ for awhile and will probably put her in rotation now.

She is shity tank, low team protection, low utility, low surviability, her ult isn't win insantly a fight, unlike lost of tanks. Queen plays more like a dps, and having Queen over an actuall tank isn't good for a bunch of randoms, I myself only play her in flex where people wilingly pick tanks, giving me room for it.
