Maybe one day. My uncle now has a red MGB Convertible and he has said he'd take me for a drive - I think I'll wait until the weather warms up though! 🥶
Nice result Thomas. A good example that it doesn't always have to be big, flashy and expensive to make someone happy. Top tip for removing paint from die cast cars: put in in boiling water for 15-30 minutes and the paint will rub off very easily
What a lovely thought Thomas! 🥺 Really great idea for a personal gift 🎁 👏 It looks superb too! Very difficult in that scale to do it justice but you've excelled yourself! Very impressive mate 👌👏👏👏 Hope you're feeling better soon mate. 👍👊
Nice job! I've never tried a die cast restoration but I do have a 1970s Lotus F1 that I got from a car boot sale when I was kid which could be a good candidate. It's a weird scale like 1/36 I think but someone does make the decals for it
Great if the decals are available. The one I have just needs the yellow stripe and white circles for the numbers so probably something I can do myself. Give it a go!
It’s always nice to get a custom made gift! Nice job Thomas.
Thanks, Richard. I know he loved that car and he said he would have given it to me if I wasn't just 10 when he sold it!
@ 😃wanted to buy a green MG convertible. Too bad you weren’t older would have been a fun car.

What a lovely little project, I do like these that you do now and then, and a fantastic gift, model on
Thanks so much, Sarah Jane. When making a replica of a friend of family members car, it's more common to find a diecast example than a model kit.
Amazing!I love your work!
Thank you so much!
Always gorgeous the other, other, other Aston Martin...beautiful work sir!
Thank you! Yes, I've heard it called 'the poor man's Aston' before!

Good tip about the boiling water. I'll have to give that a try. Many thanks, I love having the opportunity to give people a replica of their own car.

Thank you very much. I've got a couple of days off work so I'll be giving my voice a rest!
