I planted some prime ark freedom blackberries in May and they got up to about 4 feet and I topped them. They are doing great, but I’m not getting any flower buds. Can I expect berries this fall or will I have to cut the second growth back or just let them grow?
Since they are young, you may not get any berries this year. I would think you will… But just not sure.
I would keep them at about 4 feet tall. Only prune anything that is actually dead. Next spring, you should get a good crop 😀
How often do you fertilize?
Fertilizing once a month would be a pretty good practice. I’m not saying i always do this… But it would be a pretty good practice to keep the plants going until frost.
In N. Minnesota you have to keep tract of all those lines and connects. It's a job man. Stick to the lakes and boating, right? HA!
