Another fantastic time spent watching this meditative work. I just finished using a dewalt electric extension pole trimmer. Used it for 5hrs and only used 1/3 of the battery. 2/3 were still available!!! Blew my mind. Trimmed 25ft tall ficus hedge 200ft long, 3ft wide. Fantastic trimmer.
Thank you Jason for sharing your experience here. We have the long range machine with BLi300 9.2Ah battery and we love it. We use the same battery on the chainsaw of the same make and it is also fantastic, we can work a all day on a charge. The only disappointment is when we use this battery on the mower, then with the mower thé battery barely makes it for 20 to 30 minutes at best. For anything except the mower thé battery machines are fantastic, drastic cut in fuel cost, less noise..
Nice informative video Jason. I always use petrol machinery but aware of the future being electric. Nice to see someone given a practical vid on the performance of these as i always wondered how far you would get hedge trimming in the real world on these. I still love the smell of 2 stroke in the morning...lol
Brian Connor thank you brain, all the numbers and run times on the box don't mean anything really, yes it's the real world that counts. Most people tall about the new car smell, but only us gardener know of the 2 stroke van smell lol. Thanks mate 👍👍👍
I'm currently saving to purchase the husqvarna professional battery series which with the biggest backpack battery can last a full day of use, I know because my neighbor has the series, I'm definitely a husqvarna battery series fan but a Stihl petrol equipment fan!
Hi Jason, I'm currently suffering from severe Hay fever so I am at home resting and just wondered if you still have\use this Husqvarna battery hedge trimmer? I'm thinking of getting one for light trimming, would it be usable?
cracking job, its really nice to cut a well trained hedge. Really am considering a battery powered trimmer, I have a couple of hedges that are really tall, and being scared of heights, using something lighter and something you don't have to pull start makes sense. Its a bit frosty here and I have a garden tidy up including a hedge. I'll see if I can film there.
RJC-Services thanks RJC😊. Yes I think on very high hedges it would make things just that little easyer, tops of high hedges is the worst bit. Would be great to see soon video mate, once you put one video up your get the bug for it ☺ Thanks mate and take care 👍👍👍👍
I haven’t changed over yet but battery is probably the future for nearly all tools. Chuck in solar charging and after initial cost almost free to use. Interesting video. Looks like almost 100sq m of hedge in total. That right?
I've always been a Husqvarna fan, but run both models of extended reach battery powered hedge trimmers offered by Stihl. I've found they are every bit as effective as the two stroke gas units as far as getting through woodier material. I bring both on all day pruning jobs and between the two batteries I can get through a full day. Worth a try for sure, keep up the good work!
I have the 520ihe3, such an excellent machine, absolutely rips. Bit heavy with the bli300 battery but not too bad and well, never runs out of juice lol. Looking at getting this smaller one and a smaler battery.
A good and interesting video Jason. Definitely getting the coat and hat on for this week. That's really good trigger time on the battery to do a good size Laurel hedge. Not a bad price to. I hope it serves you well. Top vid mate.
Brett's Horticulture thank you Bret. Figgers crossed it has a good life span. Differently getting that winter is coming feeling, woolly hat time. Take care and stay warm mate 👍
Great video Jason, i have a hand held spear& jackson battery hedge trimmer which i got just to try out i find i use it more and more think the batt stuff still has a good few years to get up to petrol tools. at least the Lithium batteries last better that the old Ni cad stuff which would struggle to cut the cress for an egg sandwich !
very impressed for bottom of the range jason. good for the enviroment & the hearing even has a tip protector. imagine what the top end stuff is like (have been looking ) just a thought when you said you started in the middle. sometimes on real long hedges i jump to the end (false feeling of being finished ) then go back weird i know. take care mate.
thegeordiefellwalker haha I do that alot on big hedges, I my head it's two smaller hedges instead of one biggen. It would be very interesting to see how a top of the range would do and a bigger battery. Take it easy Geordie mate 👍
Laurel cuts best on a slower speed. If that's what economy mode is? I prefer the grunt to the electric/battery side, as you say, it would be annoying using that all day, without protection. Done two jobs today, and it was absolutely freezing, especially on ride-on job that I did. Brrrrrr. Top job. Thanks for sharing.
Green Barrow Garden Services yes that's one reason I keeped it on economy mode slow is best for laurel, yes 2 stroke is king 👍, but to be honest it did well and handy for quick trim jobs and odd shrub. That's been bloody cold today, bet you were glad to get home and warm, think it's base lay time again ❄❄. Thanks matt, take care and stay warm 👍👍👍
James-west oz garbo productions hi james. You and me both, I was very surprised how far I got, and when I went to my next job it did 10 more mins trimming before the battery died. Thanks mate ☺👍👍
nice footage and a well put together video.have tried the battery stuff.like it for being light weight just don't think you get the grunt.very best wishes
caroline camp Thank you Mr camp ☺. Yes i agree with 2 stroke you know you can give it more throttle but with battery it is what it is. Nice and light but at the price of power, Take care Mr camp and stay warm 👍👍👍
Very nicely done Jason... I couldnt hear much you were saying as the kids are still up so sorry if you said in the video but do you get a charger with it for £180 ... fab video mate keep them coming 👍👍👍
Hi Jason was thinking of getting the husqvarna 115iHd 45 cordless hedgetrimmer, what do you think, after having owned yours for so long?it will be used similar to what you are doing in your video apart from a few thicker small branches,Regards I am in Melbourne Australia just subscribed to your channel
Hi Mate, superb video. i was wondering about the run time....you hear so many different opinions.. i'm looking at the Stiga model at the moment seems like a good trimmer...i like the stihl one two but not the price tag....!
Gary Chapman Gardening it's the price that's the killer to me, when you think what you could get in 2 stroke. But was pleasantly surprised be this little trimmer. If you get a stiga let me/us how you get on with it. Thanks mate😊👍👍
Will do mate. i use the stiga multi tool for most of my everyday stuff. it's a good little work horse to be honest and the attachments are good also. Must be honest tho Jason i'v taken one of your ideas and made a small trimmer out of a old trimmer iv had lying around so many thanks for posting that video... if i get it i'll figure out how to make a video up to the standard you guys are doing and post it up. cheers
Very impressed with that hedge cutter Jason, it's exactly like you said it's getting the confidence with the battery tools that they won't let you down half way through a job. Do you know if the cold weather affects the battery life?
Uk Lawn Care thanks Curtis. Your spot on, with 2 stroke you can see fuel in the tank but can't see what's in a battery, strange we both put laurel videos up, must be great mind think a like lol. Good question it did say on box how low a temp but I can't remember, be to be honest I personly wouldn't leave battery in shed over night in case of frost damage. Thanks Curtis ☺👍👍👍👍
Great video Jason. Don’t suppose you have managed to get this trimmer out on anything thicker since ? Half an inch - 1inch ?? If so how did it react 👍🏼👍🏼

I was a gardener at a care home and I got battery type equipment like this, and to be honest it did a very good job. :)
UK Unboxings 22 hi.
Yes, I was surprised how well it did.
Thanks mate 👍

Phil S thanks Phil, I was surprised it did it to be honest, take care mate☺👍
great video jason, the performance of the hedge cutter was definitely an eye opener 👍
Greenkeeper steve it surprised me, I'm still a petrol man but there is a place in the van for this little trimmer.
Thanks mate 👍👍👍

jason Gardener November, working 6-7 days. 😢 Yes going to dig my thermals out tonight 👍
Sod 7 day weeks lol, don't work to hard mate 👍
It work well Dose a good Job Looks Nice!!!
Very neat job there, my friend. I'm all for electric equipment as long as they retain the power and the quality of a petrol machine.
Luke Rogers that’s not electric
Good video and work! Im shocked with how long that battery lasted.

How often should a hedge be trimmed? Average? 3x per year?
Top job jason impressed with the machine pal
Philip Shaw thanks mate.
Take care Philip👍👍👍
I'm definitely changing to battery don't know what to go for though husqvarna or stihl what would you do.
Honestly, so many good brands out there, research is key and find the one that suits you and location 👍
There is, have been doing a lot of research but confused husqvarna bit more expensive but looks better made and stihl great value for money.
See if dealer will let you have a demo
Very nicely done Jason... I couldnt hear much you were saying as the kids are still up so sorry if you said in the video but do you get a charger with it for £180 ... fab video mate keep them coming 👍👍👍
Green green grass uk thanks Mr green 😊.
Yes that's hedge trimmer, battery and charger £180.
👍👍👍👍

HI. Jason i have a question.
Can you tell me what is call or what is the type of that plants?
Thanks.

jason Gardener yes laurel hedge cutting is all the rage today, you did a great job as always mate. Stay warm this week mate.
They cost a fortune, though, like about £600 for the trimmer , battery and charger if you go for the pro version
cold weather batts are used on the pro versions, i think and cost a lot
hi Jason, how long does one battery last.....
Jamie Jon hi non stop 40 mins ish, this hedge take 1 1/2 hour but that including moving about too.
👍👍
How do you get on with the battery ones ?
How much did your battery one cost if you don’t mind me asking.
Russell Downes Downes it was £180
Great video Jason.
Don’t suppose you have managed to get this trimmer out on anything thicker since ? Half an inch - 1inch ??
If so how did it react 👍🏼👍🏼
EXACTLY !
@jason gardener how long dose the battery last for on that Trimmer
Nice video are you still using this
Vicky Sun hi yes still use it, on odd jobs.
brilliant job well done 👍
Bubbles89 thanks Bubbles.
👍👍👍
How long did it last ? is it the 2.ah battery?
Clive Ellis probably a hour on the trigger
next time Jason see how much you can get done not in economy mode it will be nice to here what you think in 6months work with it
paul bugden will do Paul, I used economy mode to get as much time as possible plus I find laurel cuts better with a slower blade.
Thanks mate👍
You not using your Titan now
Russell Downes Downes not at the moment but it's still in the back ground as a reliable back up machine 👍
Is that inc battery and charger ??
NIPP in garden Service yes that's trimmer with battery and charge.
Thanks for watching mate 👍👍
Great job
Rich Shackleton thanks rich ☺👍
Good video :)
RedPenguinYT - xbox and pc Gaming thanks redpenguin ☺👍👍👍
