- This E-Lecture discusses the role of language acquisition within cognitive linguistics as well as its main stages. It is meant as an overview of the field and constitutes the first of a series of E-Lectures aiming at a presentation of tghe main issues of this central subbranch of psycholinguistics.
My name is Jürgen Handke, Marburg University Germany. I am professor of Linguistics and Language Technology and have been an academic teacher since 1981. Together with my team I have been developing the Virtual Linguistics Campus since 2000. Among my academic teachers, from who I learnt a lot, are David Crystal, Mike Garman, Claus Gnutzmann, Ekkehard König, Peter Roach and Peter Trudgill.
