5:38 I like that when they return after whatever the hell happened involving a interdimensional kidnapping, rather than taking their time to rest or process what just happened they instead go back and continue their Rock'n Rolling like nothing happened XD
Ah. The golden era where video game plots didn't need to make sense. Just have a girl be kidnapped by a monster so that you have to travel through time and space beating the shit out of things with your guitar. Truly a classic.
According to the arcade flyer, the main baddie's name is "Monster Kizz", makes sense since he's obviously based on the KISS Demon (aka Gene Simmons). It's a mistranslation indeed
Ce soir j'aurai appris un truc, d’où viennent les musiques du premier générique de rétro&magic^^ (feu nolife) toonight, i learn something, where come from the music of the first retro&magoc opening's( ex nolife)
This really doesn't look like Konami. Their mid-1980s art style was usually so polished, and this... is not polished. (The Enchantress' final form and the Minotaur look especially bad, but the vibe I get from all the character artwork and most of the backgrounds is somewhere between "over-ambitious Commodore 64 game" and "1990s Strata")
Ironhorse, Rush'n Attack and Jailbreak were released the previous year and still featured the simplistic character sprite so common in Konami's games for the NES (aka the Konami faceless man). This game is actually an improvement. If it's not Konami enough for you, check some of the cool sound effects borrowed from Mikie and Top Gunner (also, the laugh heard during boss fights was later used in Bayou Billy)
Boss list:
00:25 Boss 01 Tutankhamen
01:08 Boss 02 Sorceress
01:49 Boss 03 Enchantress
03:05 Boss 04 Minotaur
03:53 Final Boss - Monster Kids

They must have predicted when they'd come back and set back up their concert, then wait for them to come back here.

Gotta make that cocaine money man.

That minotaur fight reeks of amateur pixel art from the 2010s.
I can't think of any design badder than that right now.
That sprites was clearly designed to be half as big as it ended up being.
@@willjace789 Cthulhu from El Viento. Fewer pixels that the player character, but stretched so much he barely fits on the screen.
Help Meee
Oh Sheena!
Monster Kids? There was like only one of them...
Probably a translation error. Quite common in that era.

05:25 what happens if you do not break that in time
It's basically a cutscene. the moment you beat the boss it moves on its own.
Seizure warning on that first screen transition

looks more like Data East tho. I feel like they had a shit ton of games that looked like this

That was fun. Good game
The power of music vs monsters and/or aliens, huh? Interesting.
I wonder how many games that involves using music to save the day are there?
Anything can make it happen. After all it's video game.
I can agree with that,we can be proud of our imaginations.
