    Another excellent & informative video. Regarding Shiva representing the destructive aspect of Deity, I remember reading in parts of the Vedas that these gods Vishnu, Rudra (shiva), Brahma are all the same deity so one can refer to shiva as the creator if so desired. It's similar to when Paul said "from him (Brahma), through him (Vishnu), & to him (Shiva) are all things". I liked your comparison of the Lingam to the 'erection' one experiences through meditation, from the base of the spine to the crown.

    Amazing video , the symbolism of the serpent and its attachment to materialism was profound cause it bought a image to my ahead of the “Dont tread on me “ (snake) due to the similarities of those who are still afraid of the eagle which like you said is the transcendent nature of consciousness and therefore that the clinging of mind and body is what would be holding us to truly let go and embrace the dance destruction which is just the beauty of change .

  • @hunkarun

    BRILLIANT video. Succinct, informative and presented well.
    On a deeper philosophical layer, the dance of Lord Nataraja signifies the fivefold function of God, out of which "destruction" is only one, symbolised specifically by the fire held on the left upper hand of the Lord. Other functions are creation, preservation, veiling and revelation of the Divine, the last two are mainly in relation to the soul's awakening process.
    There's also another Nataraja deity with a rare pose called Urdhavatandava, it's the main idol of Sri Vadaranyeswarar Siva Temple of Thiruvalangadu, the bronze idol is simply magnificent.
    Check it out if you or anyone's keen. Questions welcomed! 😉

    Why did the CERN scientists choose Shiva as their “mascot” for the Hedron collider?

    • @Enlightenchannel
      @Enlightenchannel  6 лет назад +10

      Probably because they're destroying atoms to find out about the creation of the universe. Shiva destroys the world so that Vishnu can rebuild it again. If your worried about black holes in CERN don't be. High energy particles called cosmic rays bash into our planet all the time with power that far exceeds CERN and non of those cosmic rays have made a blackhole yet. The LHC is just a controlled cosmic ray.

    It is not the destruction but the cycle of creation which includes dissolution . The dance of shiva is everywhere . The dance of Subatomic particles is also the Dance of Shiva .

    This is it. Non-duality and duality exist together. Gender is not in the mind. Its in the consciousness. There is a cycle - duality to non-duality and back to duality. This is the cycle. Shiva and Shakti are duality and when they come together there is non-duality and the cycle continues. They can never be together and never be separate.

      Shiva took me in his arms during an astral projection (lucid dream) I was baby sized compared to him. He was sitting on a simple but very large hardwood throne. I cried like a long lost father was welcoming me home. Leading up to that one of a group of angelic women said, as I was drawn towards her, "STOP! You must go over there." She pointed to my right and turning I saw a group of around 30 or 40 elder men all dressed in yellow robes. As I approached they parted to make a pathway through were I came upon this Aztec looking warrior with perfect physique sitting on his throne. The overwhelming feeling was homecoming. I didn't know who he was and as he gathered me into his arms all I could sob was, "Abba Father" over and over. Years later I was watching something on TV about Bodh Gaya and the actor they used to depict Buddha was very similar to the man on the throne so I wondered if I'd been sitting on the knee of Buddha?... it didn't quite fit though. Only today when I was looking into travelling to Arkana on the Amazon did it FULLY hit me that it was 100% Shiva. The person dancing as Shiva is about as close as a human could get to the man who held, both physically and energetically. It totally fits my personality too I spend my summers working festivals and if I'm not working I'm DANCE DANCE DANCING! Also if spiritually I'm one of Shivas little Ganeshes that fits so well too, all I do all day is fix things for people, my job in the Army was as a Plant Operator/Mechanic... literally our job in war was clearing obstacles mines etc! So funny now. I've never shared this on the Internet before.
      "Shaking the world through harmonic resonance" I love that, thank you.

      It's "Shiv Tandav Strotam". It was a song composed by an ancient king to please Shiva from his anger. Shiva, after listening to this Tandav Strotam by his devotee, he began to dance in ecstasy and declared that this song will become immortal among the devotees and it is advised by elders to listen it atleast once a day. AUM

    Lingam in Shivling, Shivlinga, Shivlingam means symbol in sanskrit and not a human phallus. The British associated it with a man's phallus in order to redicule the hindu faith. In Sanskrit the words are compound founds where the relationship between the prefix and suffix define the core word.

    Perhaps I am not totally seeing the big picture but serpents are not an inheritly evil symbols but alot of what serpents symbol tends to be the the primal and animalistic traits of human beings such as the desire for status self preservation desires for sex desire to have ones wishes fufilled and all of those things connected with the root chakra and the other lower chakras which when not effectively managed or kept in check can potentially create problems.
