macon is home to little richard, nancy grace, otis reddings, the allman brothers ,jason aldean a little of young jeezy and football player kareem jackson and parts of the new movie " the color purple " got filmed here as well as movie "42" trouble with the curve , " need for speed " the crazies and etc also macon is the 4Th largest city in georgia
I grew up in Dry Branch, down Hwy 80 and 6 miles away from the Geographical Center of the State. The memorial is just off of I-16 on the way to Savannah on the Coast. It is right next to the J. M Huber Corporation which provides chalk/Kaolin clay for all sorts of products, particularly medical things like Philips Milk of Magnesium. I lived on the east side of Macon from 1963 til 1968 when I went into the Air Force. The address was 731 Main st., the location of the old Wards Bar B Que place, intersection of Balcom Ave, Ft Hill St., and Main. It was changing when I left in 68 and I came back in 73 in time for the SNOWSTORM from hell. lived in Jones county until 79, then to Germany. I love it them but, as I said it was changing for the worst. I will drive thru now, but not stop, too dangerous. Still, the Heart of Ga.
Macon is a wonderful city. So much to see and do and experience...

Thank you for your interesting and informative content. Great job.
Grew up outside of macon , Jones county. My son is buried in Macon memorial Park
Georgia is nice! I lived north of Atlanta but, I definitely would move back to Georgia. I didn't have any bad experiences.
Macon is a house flippers dream
Plenty of homes that are dirt cheap to buy & flip. And sale or rent out.
Wonder why houses are cheap.
