Miss my City. As backwards as it was - I still had some great moments growing up there. Lived in Queensborough neighborhood. Really miss my fresh and hot donuts from Southern Maid by Willis Knighton Hospital.
my mother got a job in shreveport in 1985 i was 12 years old and we moved from michigan. in 1993 i moved back home to michigan and i havent been back since so this video brought back memmories . i never really fit in down south but there was some good people down there . i learned alot of things down south that i will never forget. i saw alot of things ill never forget like like lizards lol crawfish , real gumbo and marching bands. so thank you for this video it brings back my southern ties .
I’d like to be the white dude riding in the back seat and listening to the ladies talking about their city and the way it used to be. This big divide we have in America might be partially closed if we shared who we are, what matters to us, and how we came to be where we are in life. A guy who has lived in CA, CO, AZ, and UT has no way of understanding folks in the south. The TV filters what they want us to see and it’s not normally the best part. This is very interesting, you don’t get to see the soul of a city by driving past or staying in a hotel for a night. You can only learn by having the folks educate you based upon what they saw over the course of their lives.
jazzie cat Don’t listen to them. Well, Did you move here? Izzy Porter Why you wanna talk smack about Shreveport? I mean it’s not perfect but it isn’t that bad! I sure can name off way worse places! You from here too? Nice way to represent your town! 🤨

I went to Lanier and was going to green oaks high but my mom moved to South Central L.A.
