The truth about fascia and the internal arts, movement, posture and power revealed! What is fascia? How does fascia actually work? How do internal martial arts make use of fascia? How do we keep our fascia healthy? How do internal arts transform the body to conform to the Yi Jin Jing (changing muscle to match "tendon") process? Joey Nishad summarizes the modern neuroscience, functional anatomy, myofascial release as well as traditional martial arts in the context of fascia or sinews, as traditionally referred to! And he dispels misinformation like the truth is going out of fashion!
The fullness of Chi (Peng), the continuous letting go (process of Song) into the Central Equilibrium (Zhong Ding) thus cultivating the appropriate state of being in accordance with Central Harmonies (Zhong He) create very subtle and precise, whole body coordinated, omni-directionally balanced, complimentary movements and power. The Chi mobilization pathways (Jin Lu) for unusual power, open and functioning simultaneously, in varying proportions, adjusting in real time, to Transform (Hua) is responsible for the creation of the magic of 200grams (4 teals) subverting 1000 catties (600kg) in internal arts, as described in the Taijiquan classics!
If fate compels you to keep an eye out for more shenanigans involving this madman Joey Nishad @bewholeyoga with the most sincere apologies in advance, you can find the trouble you are looking for, in the seedy outfits below.

Finished the video: impressive essay on fascia and taiji, Joey! 100% solid facts articulated really well. Interesting point on the fast form, too - never thought of it that way!

Joey, while the information was scientifically based, I feel its completely inappropriate to disrespect the 2 other teachers as you've done in the first part of your video. I've seen some of your other videos and they demonstrate the brilliant, integrative faculty of your mind, the willingness to share your broad experience, your kindness. This type of video is different and, in my humble opinion, it's below you.
I've long asked the question, "Aside from the fighting/martial aspects, who does one become by doing internal martial arts?" My sense is that by lessening internal myofascial resistance and blockages, one becomes more psycho-spiritually integrated, health improves as the meridians open up, longevity increases, there is more kindness and acceptance in the personality---both towards oneself and towards others .
The true mark of someone who has mastered the internal arts typically includes personality attributes such as these. And indeed, we see a strong spiritual side to teachers like Mark Rasmus, Adam Mizner, Huai Hsiang Wang, Master Master Yap Boh Heong, etc. I don't think any of these teachers would put out a video like this one. They (and you) are better than that.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts Eric, obviously your opinion of me was too kind and generous 🤗
I don't have a lot of time right now, so forgive me for being short.
It is cowardly and desperate seeking of validation when people are unable to discern reality for what it is, in fear of being badly thought of due to offending someone. Gladly, I'm not so elevated. I'm fine with people thinking negatively of me so I will call a spade for a spade. I pulled out the man and woman I used to exemplify the erroneous narrative about "grabbing the fascia" through a random RUclips search and they deserve any and all offences they will take because spreading misinformation to the ignorant to satisfy their need for validation is in my view, distasteful.
Funny how you mention four people I know reasonably well, some of them I would call very close long time friends and I can assure you, your level of discernment is lacking, though your intentions appear to be honourable.
Huai Hsiang Wang (Howard) is an absolute sadistic wanker of a little man who hurt my friend who trusted him to safely demonstrate on him just because just a little bit prior to that, Howard was made to look like an idiot trying to get his stuff to work on my friend Rob Liberti, in front of those who were present at Howard's workshop at The Martial Camp 2024. Not only did Rob try to not resist (though he hilarious flicked Howard off with his wrist, bouncing him stumbling off many feet when Howard tried to break Rob's wrist out of embarrassment), he was giving Howard ample opportunity yet none of Howard's BS worked on Rob. Of course, many people had already left the workshop prematurely by this point, sick of Howard's claims of there being no God, how he is the best fighter before he retired, constant jokes at the expense of his poor wife and so on. And as much as like @themartialman this is why I won't support The Martial Camp again, as long as financial arrangements are prioritized over ethics and integrity, supporting sadistic snake oil peddlers like Huai Hsiang Wang.
Sorry to disappoint you, I am NOT "better" than to this, I don't support and idolize despicable humans. I don't hate them, but I don't put them on the altar or whitewash them for profit.

@@bewholeyogawow... Wasn't expecting such an interesting response!
I was willing to agree with the original posters position on the negative tone, though I think we can all leave the hero worship outside taichi - TMA has too much of that to begin with!
I enjoy watching taichi people argue and disagree with each other. I've enjoyed watching videos debunking Mizner, I've enjoyed debunks of those debunks. Taiji is a big tent and we can all fit in it and argue over the merits or fantasy of certain methods, if we can both keep things civil and grow a thicker skin as well.
Unless of course, they're a bit of a twat, like in Joey's anecdote of this Howard... 😂

More and more as I critique everything, myself, my understanding of science and language, I feel like being nicer to people who misunderstand things because we are pretty innocent and actually believe what we are doing as we psychologically internalised it and I dont want to teach people by making them feel bad about themselves so I would share all the silly I have believed and done, and boy i have done stupid things but yeah then I would show its okay to make mistakes and that it doesnt make you a bad person. I think the fascia is interesting and I want to actually understand the scientific theory and practice it effectively. My current practice and understanding is really limited and I always defer to people with experience who can demonstrate things, just like any skill or vocation in life.

Thank you for talking about this and sharing knowledge of the scientific language and processes going on in the body. I really appreciate the scientific language and of course the more ancient cultural ways of describing these things are just another way of saying it from that context rather than the science context and is rich in history. And some people might learn better with one or the other or enjoy both. Being a bit of a coder, I like all languages, especially putting them side by side and comparing them, where they share words and where they may not. Definitely saving this video in my education playlist.

My favourite thing is just testing theory against reality, in sensible ways that dont injure yourself or others, no need to show or mess around. So I really appreciate you having done both. It helps me with the feel of application to know the science behind it and vice versa.

Thanks Joey there are people who get offended. Imagine in science if we cared about offending leading authorities where would humanity be. In science we actively try to disprove even our own hypothesis to get to the truth. Internal martial arts have a bad rap as being bastions of arrogance. Put people on a pedestal is the MO. I saw no personal attack on your part. But one can’t help hurt egos. We have higher priorities right now as internal martial arts struggle for relevance in a world that’s moved on.
