Shadow of the Colossus PS4 - Hard Time Attack Pelagia (#12)

- Apart from one mistake I made at the end of the battle (I missed the jump), this is a near flawless run through, and may help others who are having trouble with this colossus!
I must admit, this was the most challenging colossus to defeat during the Hard Time Attacks! It took me many attempts before I finally put that sucker down! ; )

For me, the hardest in HTA was Gaius, 3 weak points and no Stamina, the one on the left arm was almost Impossible to attack, he Almost Never Stopped shaking, and the Little Stamina Almost destroyed the run
you can go up with 3 methods so you don't need to break his arm, the first is to do the same that speedrunners , the second is this ( ruclips.net/video/eZe1zXjomow/видео.html ), and the third (i did it twice) is jumping on his sword when he is doing a animation.
The speedrunner method is the hardest, for me the second is best so everyone can doit
I thought Malus was super difficult too... 12 minutes and half or more of them are spend climbing him, if you fall it's over, and he COSTANTLY shakes...
Just beat Gaius GTA on PS3 yesterday and MY GOD is it a pain. Gaius is definitely the hardest with Argus as a close second
EK OddLink at least Argus has plenty of time to spare, thats why he doenst surpass Gaius, and i thought that Quadratus whas gonna be the hardest because of his weak point on his side and the freakin low Stamina.
Jorge Luz Yeah which is why Argus was a close second. The only way I beat Gaius was by taking advantage of his shoulder animation and using the leg jump
My secret to getting this colossus done quickly is to start swimming to his back immediately when I’m submerged underwater after attacking his sigil. Doing this allowed me to beat him while saving three minutes on the clock. I also have a technique for beating celosia (hard) with half of the time left on the clock for those who are interested. Just ask.
Spyro 115 Hm? What is it? Other than glitching your position on his back, which is oddly easy.

Haidar Rabie Begin the fight by darting to a pedestal, grabbing the stick, and lighting it as usual. Knock Celosia down to the ground but don’t chase after it. Instead, pull out your bow and arrow, then shoot it from the arena. That way, Celosia will immediately stand up and run back to the arena. While it does that, run back to the top of any pedestal and wait for it. When it smashes its head into the pedestal from now on, it will get knocked out. Now do you know the jump stab attack? Jump and press square mid air? You are now going to use this attack. Right when Celosia starts running to smash the pedestal, you jump off of it and do a jump stab attack to land on its sigil. This way you get a full stab worths of damage on it and you will be able to repeat the process before Celosia even gets a chance to start jumping around. It will take about three to four jump stabs to finish it off.
Spyro 115 don't miss your jump tho! The camera angles sometimes make it difficult.
Spyro 115 that's very intersting! I didn't know you can shoot him from there. What i tried before was make him fall, jump on him, he will shake me like crazy and run all the way back to the arena, then do as you said.. but that's too freaking looong -_- i also tried to wake him and then run to arena but he kept smashing me like an idiot. I will try your method, thanks mate!

If you guys havent watched Distortion2's world record speed run for this game then i would highly recommend watching that because the strats he uses are pretty damn good. Also watch Plush's NTA run for time attack. He also has a tutorial on all the strats
Pelagia is a greek name. It dirives from pelagos, meaning sea

Thanks Nomad! This has always been the one I struggle with most on hard time, too. It's not a hard fight per se but it's just really tedious. This helped a lot!
This is the first time I beat every time attack and doing the hard mode ones was really thrilling. But nothing was cooler than syncing the start of this fight with “And Justice For All...” by Metallica it just adds a whole new layer. Koh Otani’s soundtrack is legendary but when you play Metallica it just keeps the action going
There's a faster way to climb him if you jump into the bones on his side instead of his back
Ryan you can jump on his head as he ducks and brings his arms up
you can also jump from the base of each stone pillar at the corner of each “island” (assuming he didnt break it yet)
for stab cycles you can do 1 full, 1 ~80%, 1 full. I’m not sure if it’s possible to 2 cycle him on hard, but i did manage to do over half his health in one stab cycle.

Omg I really hate Pelagia in HTA... Pelagia and Gaius.
Pelagia had no chill in the old version, it would start shooting at you as soon as the first cutscene was done. Then, during the 'breaks a structure' cutscene it would start shooting at you then too.
This is one colossus that does what he wants.

We need more of hard time attack though! Like Gaius, Avion and Malus. Those are my most favorite for time attack

I did this one my first time on hard time attack. Third one was most difficult.
You can jump it's head from the first platform right after the start. Just have to trigger it,s "standing" move.😊
Surprised to hear people are struggling with this guy. Number 3 was the biggest pain for me because of how much his head moves.
That's strange as Gaius HTA was much easier for me than Pelagia!

I haven't problem with it. In ps3 version, i cannot beat the 3rd colossi in 5' but in 5:06..... I miss only this to the platinum trophy.
Ismt there a way to make the colossus move out of map and all the way through the lands?

15 colossi was the hardest for me.
Is it just me or does this game seem easier? I had no problem with hard time attack whereas on ps2/ps3 I could barely beat it!
Some of the times are different then they were on those versions. Some are harder some are easier. Im not sure whether they based this game off of ntsc or off of pal because the pal version is a lot harder.

Does anybody else have trouble with the AI of pelagia in this remake? It seems different.

Actually, I don't 'play' the game very often at all. It's been years since I played through the whole game, so I'm in no way a 'good' player. Mostly I use the PCSX2 emulator to travel around the lands and take snapshots for my blog posts etc.
Of course, I played through the PS4 version, but as this was a new version it was like starting from scratch ; )
Only Malus gave me more trouble on time attack.
