They were not and are not Satan worshippers. It was about a dream the bass player had after seeing the movie "The Omen". They're a great band. You should check out "run to the hills" next.
The best live heavy metal band ever. This song is about a nightmare the bassest and founder of the band had after seeing the Movie Omen about the anti-christ.
Please always do Live versions of Iron Maiden. Thank you. Bruce's vocals and the energy of the crowd are another level. Bruce is an amazing storyteller.
Ironically the guy in the devil suit is Nicko McBrain who is a huge Christian, lol Also, the song is about a nightmare Steve Harris had after watching Omen 2;-) Up the mighty Irons!!!!!
Bruce is an astute student of history. Alexander the Great is not only a great song but a lesson. Renaissance men who’s music is above the average ear.
Iron Maiden is a 'story telling' band....which are always colorful and powerful. ....not sure how you can say it "wasn't very good" - even if you don't like the content of the lyrics, it's still a head banger of a song and a classic.
The 80s hair band vocals can take a bit to hear clearly. I don't think they have the ear for it yet, so a lot went over their head. Personally I give this song a 7 max. It's a great background track to rock out to but even I ha e trouble understanding the lyrics and I grew up in the 80s in a rock station household.
@osamaqtaitat This, this is a hair band. Metal, Heavy metal, Power Metal is much more encompassing if your really being honest. This is Judas Priest, Iced Earth, Dio ect all great 80s Hair Bands. Heck most of them held down the 90s Metal scene maybe HammerFall was a good 90s addition. Dragon Force had a good 2000s, Sabaton and probably Avenge Sevenfold would also hit the mark. I also like Metal like Pantera, Lamb of God, Hatebreed ect. There's lots of music and ways to group it. 80s hair band is my grouping for Maiden, 90s Shredder Bands is what I call the Pantera grouping.
@osamaqtaitat Iron Maiden were Pioneres and made lots of music. There are some songs that Thrash like Metallica and others that Grove like Rush. All Metal / Rock variations anyhow. All Hair Bands to me. Then there are the Glam Bands like Def Leppard, Motley Crew, Whitesnake. Which bands like Iron Maiden, KISS were the counter of (non glam) but still had similar rock roots.
I just randomnly tumbled to your reaction. You were polite and did not say anything bad, this makes me want to see something else from you. Me and you guys are living in different world, and i don't mean that is something bad, it's just that we have so different surroundings, if you understand. I live in Finland, i don't know if you guys even know where Finland is, but that does not matter, music can still be universal language. I grow listening way different music than Iron Maiden, but i found it when i was 15 or 16 and i've been a fan since. I also love lot's of other music and other style of music and it was really positively suprised your take on the end because i was waiting for the "shit" comment. What i am trying to say is that i need to listen more music i don't think is my "cup of tea". Because i know that more i listen songs like that, more i start to understand that music. This was kind of reminder for me. Thank you guys! First i will check you'r reacted songs and try to find something you like and i don't. Then i will listen that song enough times that i get to understand. I feel lucky i found this one and remembered something. Thank you guys! And later on the same album they have the song 'Hallowed be thy name', yeah they are not satanic. Great reaction and thanks for sharing. Think this was on either rock band or guitar hero or something similar. Chris
Aces High is probably my favorite Iron Maiden track. One thing to note about them is that their songs are usually 'story' based. The 80s rock vocals take some adjusting to hear, but after a few tracks, you will pick up more. For me, most of Iron Maidens music is too 80s glam rock. My Top Rock band is Pantera, second is Ozzy, third is Tool. Rock can be harder to react to, a lot of times you have to blur the video and make sure to pause a lot.
To misinterpret lyrics, they must be heard. The vocals on this track leave much to be desired. Ask most people what lyrics on this track they know, and it will be 8 words... Six six six the number of the beast
@@aaronb7990I can comprehend the vast majority of those lyrics but maybe its because I've heard a lot of rock and metal songs since young and have a trained ear.
@@allbies exactly. The more you listen the more you are able to catch the first time you hear it. I have always felt that Maiden was kind of hard to absorb the lyric because the vocals are part of the music. Meaning even if you don't know English it still sounds good... if that makes sense. I enjoy Maiden for the great sound not the stories personally but everyone has their own way of enjoying music.
I gave you a like half way through watching then had to take it away replaced with a dislike once you gave it a 6.5 rating. One of the best bangers of all time and you go 6.5 😮 you don’t know good music when it just slapped you in the face
