Great song, truthful lyrics. You can bet the mainstream radio will boycott it. Any criticism of the war will be ignored. Respect to Ian Brown for saying what should be said.
i never listend to ian brown before this i heared most of his songs but this was a hit on me great song great vid caught it live on channel 4 at midnight the other day
he's not trying to "change the world" - he's speaking his views on the conflict that we have seen in our world over the last few years. how can you say that someone would write that when they're 14? clearly you have appreciation for the sheer genius of his lyricism. then again, i wouldn't expect someone like you that posts a comment like yours to appreciate greatness.
If you dont like him, you dont need to show it. He is one of the few artists in this world that will show his opinion about the war, and how most of the world feels about it..."illegal attacks" is a perfect name for the song, because we all know that it is true..
Yup just listened to the whole song. She says "What mean you that you beat my people" "What mean you that beat my people & grind the faces of the poor".
Am I the only one that listened to the song for the string harmonies? I mean listen to the layers, how each does their own thing but build chords at the same time. Sends a very strong image of people marching.
TRUE! Lack of justice & lack of information. We hear some facts, like Mugabi in Zimbabwe but we're hidden from others. We should be given all facts, not the edited version. TV news should be more than just a mouthpiece for our government. Even Ian Brown knows that - Cheers Ian!
increadible vid..i did never meant the video of this song ( to which i ve been listening for 2 weeks at least )..could ever export the sensitibe side of myself..absolutely right mr ian brown. SOLDIERS COME BACK
Brilliant...Very few artisits have the guts to come up with such music...The strongest now are Ian Brown and Kula Shaker...No surprise these bands dont get much coverage
Is this getting played on the radio? Ian Brown - what a guy. This may not be the most eloquent assessment of the iraq thing, but nobody has said it this brutally and directly as he is doing here. No beating around the Bush. There's a new album coming - he could have gone an easier way and promote it with a radio-friendlier tune. But he did not cause he's got something to say. I hope this is an inspiration for all the young bands around.
I lost my wife and kids due to ptsd.would love to go bk but i wont get my mates i lost back then.brothers in arms-the queen is one of them.once a fusiler always a fusiler.
Humans have an instinct to feed, fuck and fight. Unfortunately some of these instincts can go out of control. How refreshing it is to have Ian Brown and empathisers like us to go against the grain now and then
blackdice23............ you DO know what you're on about and you DO have a cultured taste in music, in your opinion! In MY opinion, Ian Brown is a legend. This a a top track and I'm looking forward to seeing him live (again) next month, along with thousands of other fans! Without Squire, Ian Brown would be just as much of a legend, as he is now (IN MY OPINION)!
Ian Brown is a very strong minded and gifted musician/songwriter and this song/video cements that opinion. However you feel about his lyrics or the content of the video is entirely up to you. I've been a massive fan of the BORN WINA since the late nineties, and I grew up on a diet of Stone Roses. Roll on December 5th, Ian Brown - Wolverhampton Civic! COME ON!!
I bow down to your superior debating skills. Your amateur psychology is astounding. If reading someone's opinion/comments brings you to tears I suggest you never read anything ever again. Failing that listen to some good music and you will start to understand why I am so diametrically opposed to what Mr Brown has churned out here. I am actually embarrassed for the lad.
Great song, truthful lyrics. You can bet the mainstream radio will boycott it. Any criticism of the war will be ignored. Respect to Ian Brown for saying what should be said.
The tune's just so captivating....and so are the voices...
All in, a very well produced piece.

the song brought me to tears for the facts stand as facts. follow the path. Truth cant be refuted because it stands on justice in it self.
If you dont like him, you dont need to show it. He is one of the few artists in this world that will show his opinion about the war, and how most of the world feels about it..."illegal attacks" is a perfect name for the song, because we all know that it is true..
Ian Brown's not singing for peace, he's singing for justice. Listen to the words. It's the "Illegal Attacks" he's on about.
