ian brown is the MAN! who else had the balls to say this while we bombed 'poor brown people' who haven't done shit to us. An artist who hasn't sold his soul to the devil, hard to find these days.
Sadly, it took the death of an amazing artist for me to be aware of this song. But it's great. And just as relevant a protest now as when it came out. I'm happy to know Mr Brown is both awake and uncompromising. A pity more singers/bands can't say the same.
One of the best protest songs ever. ✊ And as time goes by, and more and more is revealed, so terrifyingly spot on... 'A commando crusade... A military charade... And only so many soldiers come home...' DEADLY
thanx ian brown for this song it's talking about the real situation in the world it's not UK's war it's america's war to roll the world and they know they will loose. once again thanx to ian brown and every freedom fighters in the world.
if you like this music you may also like natacha atlas ft sinead oconnor called simple heart its on natachas atlas something dangerous album and wow its it brill !!!!
understand that even the arghan people are wanting us to help like the iraq people when we captured saddam. yes innocent people are losing there lives for this war which is what would happen anyway if we didnt help. ie, 7/7 bombs in london or many what have happened around the world. the world would be a better place if everyone got along but that will never happen as there is always someone not happy.
I'm slightly amused at the comment that Ian isn't aging well. I went to school with him and he's 47! He's aging a lot better than I am ! LOL. And I haven't been through the excesses that he has!!
yeah i know what you mean. The way he went from being one of the greatest footballers to being a sad alcoholic. The way the press attacked him almost did seem illegal
@eezy1972 Sorry to disappoint - I have been a fan since I saw the Roses in London in '88 (Dingwalls, I think) & I love this for both it's musical merit & it's message. Oh & I love Sinéad, as does Ian, so maybe you should question your own Ian-Brown-fanness & repent...
@tamburlaine79 What does that mean? You can't write a song about something you haven't preached about your whole life? If you know anything about the Roses or Ian Brown you would know preaching is not in the equation. He's a songwriter and clearly writes about stuff that touches him with no thought of how it will 'play in the media'. Thank goodness there are people like him around to balance out all the bla-bla & posturing that is everywhere these days!
@Jamesintime i think that you will find the socialist party in scotland and the respect party also want the same thing, and were against the invasion in the first place.
I don't have a bad word about the sodiers we send, I guess I'm not happy about the arms dealers that have always trailed behind all our prime ministers. Sadly nothing changes
@Yickbob Sorry, mate. I'm not stomping on the Ian Brown message in this song per se. But it's amusing you use the phrase "preaching". Surely a word that can only be taken lightly and nearly insulting. No one likes the term preaching, because it always seems borne from/ an exalted pedestal. But to get back to the original retort is that you really only addressed his general quality as a writer; I'm just giving an opinion on the vaccuous intention behind his/hers motive for the song.
Yeah, but the fella got it wrong as such. Admirable idea, but I find these types release a song when the occasion arises in their heads. It's not like Ian Brown has been pioneering this mantra for decades. Poor enough.
FREE PALESTINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ian and Sinead... SO DAMN SOLID. Back then and even more hurtful today.
Rest in peace sinead. Like this masterpiece she made every song she featured on a classic.
R. I. P Sinead O'connor. What about this tune. Great. Genuine.
Ian Brown right about everything 🙌
ian brown is the MAN! who else had the balls to say this while we bombed 'poor brown people' who haven't done shit to us. An artist who hasn't sold his soul to the devil, hard to find these days.
this has to be one of the coolest collaborations ever, love them both and the song is great!
Sadly, it took the death of an amazing artist for me to be aware of this song. But it's great. And just as relevant a protest now as when it came out. I'm happy to know Mr Brown is both awake and uncompromising. A pity more singers/bands can't say the same.
Me too wonder why? See the media didnt push this track. Bet we not the only one's never heard it. x

i dont get it? are you against the war or what? coz i am against it... Ian Brown is a legend!!
you do realise the middle east is not actually a continent don't you?
behind the lyrics is hidden an ironic tough true.

thats just nit picking, you get the point

@Jamesintime you contradict yourself too much, world peace then a revolution, two total opposites, ignorance is bliss.
