Hello everyone, I am a beginner to chess and playing it for fun and recently started rapid games that’s why my Elo is so low lol. Anyways since so many of you guys are new drop any questions here and I’ll answer them in my next chess video thanks guys
@@SanjitDoesEverything Bro, I'm 1100 (still low) and I can't see this man!!! I rock bottom I was 179 blitz. And this is rapid!!! 1800 player here, I love your optimism after hanging your queen in game 1! I'd be screaming to the heavens if I did that. Strangely, I really enjoyed this. I think many in the comments are also enjoying spotting the missed tactics and blunders. You're doing great and keep it up. You'll get a great laugh when you're a 1500 rated player and coming back to watch these games again.
Yes exactly when you reach a higher rate you will laugh 🤣 on your past games and I will advise you watch as much chess games as you can that helped me to understand so many mistakes I was making ❤
300 elo is crazy this video was like watching an action movie or something, impossible to predict. I was actually impressed by your tactics in game 2. Keep doing puzzles and you will improve quickly.
@@Based4Life”ain’t that hard to become one” buddy there are players who have dedicated their lives to chess who never became a GM, Levy Rozman for example along with ten thousand plus other IMs.. it is incredibly hard to become a GM, you must be gifted and have exceptional memorization/pattern recognition that can’t be taught out.
She's a beginner, calculating 2 moves is perfect for her skill level. Anything past that will be very flawed. So yeah, past 2-3 moves would be too far for her. Don't act like you've always been able to calculate 10 moves in the future lol
@Based4Life yes but as a beginner no one starts off great at calculating, it's always flawed until we learn strategy and specific chess tactics. We can't know what the opponent will most likely play until we learn those tactics or the lines of a certain position; which a beginner just can not. So congrats on calculating 4-5 moves as a beginner but with only knowledge of how pieces move, you weren't calculating at a intermediate/high level. My point being she made a smart choice by not trying to calculate too far ahead because as a beginner she doesn't know enough to accurately predict what the opponent will do, which will only frustrate a beginner or at the very least take them out of the present position, which takes away a beginners board vision and impacting their overall strategy
I was at 400 elo a year and a half ago and I’m now almost 2000. You’re doing great! Always remember to keep the game fun, thats what games are for after all.
This was extremely entertaining to watch, I can't wait to see more. I love watching beginners mindset grow as they learn. This has extreme asmr quality to it as well. Definitely earned a subscribe
I was at one point 125 rated last year and have just recently worked my way up to 500. My goal for this year is 1000. Repetition is key and puzzles helped me understand tactics and how to find mate with different pieces. You got this!
this video is crazy (in a nonjudgemental and very awesome way).. As an experienced chess player (im like 1700 uscf these days) its cool to see the beginners thought process. I don't even remember thinking this way when I started out, but I must have gone through this stage.
I think you’ve got good potential. There’s a lot to work on and it can sometimes feel overwhelming, but keep having fun, practicing puzzles, playing games, analyzing games (especially losses), and you can improve. Try not to worry about ratings too much at this stage. Try not to even focus on how to win when you start a game. Just play the best moves you can in any given situation. Time and practice will see improvement and ratings going up. Best of luck!
Just learn only one opening as white and know as much variation there is to that opening. This works really well to push to 1000 to 1200. But as black,i would recommend scandinavian or king's indian or queen's indian because it is really forcing opening as black, and forces white to move out of its comfort zone(e4). Anyway, good luck on your journey! Wish you the best! Remember, consistence is key, don't rush. It is not about how many games you play,it is about how good you play. I play around 4 games a day like 2 games in evening and 2 games at night. Skill is attained from experience as well as knowledge. Good luck!
A really helpful tip I would give is in game one opening 2 moves you were calculating the outcome if you take and you noticed they would be winning. Never ever let them win these calculations, if you calculate and you’re losing, defend your pieces first and foremost. you can learn to attack with time but at this elo everyone blunders pieces, minimising the losses will have you winning more matches. Keep it up 👍 always nice to see people getting into chess

1800 here, good luck ! So cool to see how you think, you will see the game so very differently pretty soon if you keep climbing. Have fun !
Your chess innocence !😂 I’m rooting for you . Don’t worry about taking when you just moved two pieces, develop, develop, develop. Develop until you can castle. Also, you want to study the files and the lines. When I was a 300, I was not looking at the lines. When a pawn moves, look which squares the major pieces control. Point of developing is to open squares to control. Remember develop to open squares for the big pieces to control. Look at the lines. Often times, when when we check possible moves, we fail to “picture” the structure of the board, so we don’t often see the lines, nor the squares. I will say, it’s a little jarring looking at the lines and squares if you don’t have a history and mental muscle memory -level 650, played chess inconsistently for 3 yrs
I started playing chess in early 2024 and I was at your level. Currently I’ve made it to 1035 ELO. I’d recommend learning an opening and learning basic chess principles such as developing your pieces early and castle early. And scan for checks, captures and attacks. You played well for your level with a couple of misses, such as the first bishop move in the first game, which was a hanging piece. Do puzzles as well. A great teacher of chess is GothamChess, an International Master, and I’d recommend his videos, as they are instructive. Happy learning:)
My angel, I've been playing chess for a little while, and when you're starting out at this rating range, what's really important is to practice tactics. Spend just 5 minutes a day on it, and you'll see your progress-your eyes need to get used to the "patterns" of chess. Another tip: choose one opening for white pieces and always play it, and one defense for black pieces against 1. e4 and another for 1. d4, and always stick to the same opening. Good luck!!
I’m a 550, and I’ve been at it diligently for 3 years. I’m convinced that high-rated players underestimate what 500 means today vs. what it meant a few years ago. I sometimes blunder in a game, but usually I don’t. One piece of advice - do not under any circumstances resign. Ever. Not until you get into 1000 territory. I never resign, despite how hopeless it is. The reason? Draws. I force tons of draws.
I remember that threshold when I was stuck around 900 ... Seemed like an impossible goal to get over 1k , a dose of healthy pessimism : the higher your Elo gets the more complex chess becomes . dont give up YET !
~700 Elo player here. At around the 7:12 mark, you had an interesting tactical opportunity. Pushing c4 would allow you to play bishop to b4 with check while also discovering a rook attack against your opponent's queen, which he'd have powerless to defend. A good rule of thumb is to start every turn by looking for checks - the best checks are the ones that buy you needed time, give you opportunities to win material, improve your position or ruin your opponent's position, etc. The worst checks are the ones that don't accomplish anything, like your planned Bg5+, which simply forces the king to move to a better square and discovers an attack against your unprotected bishop in the process.
You got this! I’ve started Chess myself a while ago, and it’s great to see you share your journey because its encouraging to see how you’re patient with yourself and your learning, and that inspires me too :D

I'm a beginner myself only at 600 elo, so I'm no authority on chess. But I was stuck at 300-400 elo for a long time, and I think the best thing you can do at that level is just play defensively. don't try to attack, just keep your pieces safe, try to control the center of the board, and eventually your opponent will make a blunder you can take advantage of. also if you're up a rook, bishop, or knight
Courageous to post this. Everyone starts somewhere. These games end up in weird positions that we don't normally see, so I found this quite interesting. Please keep posting. Also: not familiar with 300 Elo, but my guess is that you shouldn't ever resign. There must be pretty good chances of getting stalemated.

2:21 you careful with these pawn moves as a hint. You could have hung a queen for a knight there if the opponent went bg5. :D That's just a small hint, pawn moves are alright, but don't do one move attacks. Consider the opponents piece. Where will it go if you attack it? (On a later level it goes on like, will those pawns be easy targets?) Anyway :D Don't worry, keep improving. We all started somewhere.
