Aw, Ioved watching you going to bookstores and other places in NYC! That feeling we get while entering our favorite bookstore is just incredible. 😍 I'm happy you got to do what you wanted to celebrate your birthday, Emma. Oh and those wrapped books that you don't know what it is until you buy and open them are so freaking cool! I saw it once at a bookstore here in my city, would love to see it coming around again. 📚😊
Ahhhh, the city! Next time you are there, try BookoffUSA-- it's a used bookstore in midtown and sometimes they have crazy steals! I think you're going to love Station Eleven. And if you like Haikyuu, then you might also like Katekyo! Hitman Reborn-- the art styles seem very similar.
aaaahhh the book thief!!! also I'm my aunt went to that bookstore, book culture, before when I told her that she hAd to buy me a book when she was in NYC.
Do you know which book stores in NYC have discounted books? I know the Strand does. How about any of your favorites? I'm planning a book shopping extravaganza in July where I'm going to try to hit up some independent bookstores in NYC. Thanks for sharing!
I'm not positive they have discounted books here, but my all time favorite bookstore is Book Culture on Columbus. It's an independent bookstore and oh so lovely 😌
I really want to get to know manga, but I'm a bit overwhelmed by all the different kinds and genres. Could someone suggest like a starter manga for me to begin with?
Fruits Basket is one of my favorites and a great series to start with! It's about a girl who meets a family that is cursed by animals of the Chinese Zodiac. It's already finished so you don't have to worry about wading through 400-500 chapters like some other manga. I'd definitely start with that. If you want something a little more intense, Fullmetal Alchemist is wonderful, but on the heavier side.
Bakuman is a great one. Its about two kids who want to break into the manga industry, so it'll give you info about the medium, and its also a really charming story
