To me using the phrase "collector" implies either vacuum tube equipment or early transistor equipment. These types of radios often used paper dielectric capacitors, which are almost universally bad after so long. These capacitors get replaced, and most restorers don't even bother to check them because the failure rate is so high. Most restorers will also replace the electrolytic capacitors because after so many years they are dried out and no long filter the DC power supply. Capacitors and resistors haven't changed in the last 50 years and should last pretty much forever. Used is irrelevant. They simply don't sustain wear. (excluding electrolytic capacitors)
I don't see why people would have an issue with parts from a donor board, or even used parts as long as the part will function like it came from the factory. I guess it's a lack of understanding of how things work? Which is a problem with literally any job that has interaction with the general public, they have a lack of understanding, and refuse to understand even when the situation is explained in a way that a fucking child could understand it. I wanted to get into pc repair awhile ago, but with companies fucking things up, and the general public being morons that think they know best, when in reality they know nothing at all, I just don't have the patience for that bullshit. I'm fine with doing the work, I'm fine dealing with people competent enough to have a basic understanding of what's going on, but the general public is a hell that I don't want to deal with.

Are you gonna tell him to "come again soon! "?
"So you finally came..?"

I´m watching your videos here in Germany, they are fun to watch especially when you do your little speaches. If I lived in new york I would probably get a Mac Book just to visit your Shop and get to know you. You have magic Hands!
Capacitors and resistors haven't changed in the last 50 years and should last pretty much forever. Used is irrelevant. They simply don't sustain wear. (excluding electrolytic capacitors)
A little happy pattern...
Louis Bob RossMan, ladies and gentlemen.
You should work for a small tech company only having engineers on the payroll. Above 10 people and you'll have the idiots creep in.
amen brotha
Escorts charge premium rates for kink ... They also refuse commissions that are just to gross/dangerous like bare back ... Maybe factor this into your charge scheme ... Look after you ...

I have a MacBook Pro that was donated to me since it had shorted from vodka/iced tea.
I was wondering if you wanted to use it for a video like this. Willing to pay.
I’m not sure this is the way to contact him. I hope you’ve figured that out sooner.
ecstasy.apostasy the correct method of contact is carrier pigeons.

Just because a parts used, doesn't mean it ain't good 👍

Louis, you’re the professional, if you think it’s proper to use used parts, THEN ITS FUCKING PROPER TO USE USED PARTS!!! It’s as simple as that. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It came from those solder balls, of course :P.

I've been doing electronics repair since 1964. If it has to do with logic, switching, or amps have always been new O.E.M. is best then the quality After Market Replacements. I've ALWAYS used Passive components, just saves money.
