@@rossmanngroup just recently watched your video about abusers of the f word, and I'm happy to see you have a non-abuser with you at the end of the video. Thanks for taking the time to make and upload these videos, especially the one about parents yelling in front of their children!
I think what you're doing is amazing. You're honesty and professionalism is hard to find these days. Keep doing what you're doing, keep producing amazing videos, and keep up the great quality work.
the reason honesty, professionalism and good quality work is so rare is that such people tend to go broke by not charging enough for their service......
nah, louis for sure deserves a successful store, louis deserves all of the tings but one thing he doesn't deserve is getting his store sabotaged by apple/snakes, i think putting a store across from apple is asking to play with fire.In a perfect world it would be a genius idea.
Getting that location would be a time drain, I think with all the frivolous lawsuits apple will slap him with, Louis wouldn't have the time anymore to do what he loves fixing computers and helping people, and instead would be constantly fighting in court. Maybe Louis can countersue and settle for millions though for defamation.
I feel bad for the guy in the background. He's doing very detailed work on very tiny components, and sits there trying not to laugh his ass off at Luis' commentary :D
He got maaaaddddd focus... I worked in a shop with about 30 mofo's wondering around and blabbing about star wars and comic books and women ( all in the wrong way) ... Also taught high school.... Gotta #block_dat_sh!+_out
Side note I'm a former Aircraft Electrician in the Air Force. I'm working on my A+ to get into electronics repair (I just like fixing things) and I watch your videos just to get a feel for things. You're a vascular surgeon, but you can't even structure basic English together and type like a 6th grader. Amazing! This guy is going on about people bullshitting and making shit up, and there you are, probably 15 years old, making shit up on the Internet in an attempt to look cool. You don't look cool though, you look illiterate and no one with that illiteracy would get far. It's kind of "required" because you can't be writing to your patients and going "ya bruh sup...imma fix u up good!" Cut the lies and bullshit, child.

Personally if it weren't for your videos I never would have learned how to fix a touchbar macbook with charging issues by hot gluing a car battery to it.
By the same token, the challenger wouldn’t had exploded if only someone had plugged the leak with chewing gum. Duct tape could have prevented the Titanic from sinking. So many simple solutions from the Hillbilly Engineering University. I hear they are now testing cow dung as axle grease. It just keeps your rig rolling....
I worked in a repair shop, the boss kept telling me to put bloated batteries in the cheaper smart phones and older iPhones because "they are only slightly bloated and still work" because he wanted to save costs, remember people usually buy these phones for their kids, I had quite a few arguments with him as to why I am not going to do that and he fired me. The dude literally had a bag of bloated batteries, still waiting for the news that his bag of batteries shorted out on each other and burned his business down.
Lmao. Was the guy indian? I feel like he was for some odd reason. Worst part is. People that cant afford a modern phone but still needs it for everyday use due to a smartphones integration in society, some poor guy who cant afford another repair or something is going home with his phone thinking its fixed and shit only to find out it burnt down the other day
Hey Louis, I am not sure if you will read this, but I want to thank you. Watching your videos is actually what helped me learn more about soldering and gave me more confidence in my ability to solder. While I was not working with stuff like this, I did recently modify a friend's Honda OBD1 ECU with a chip kit and the control circuitry for VTEC. Basically, I made the ECU programmable and added functionality that was not there before. My friend bought a new tip for the soldering iron he already had, a de-soldering iron to make my life easier, flux (it was radio shack flux, it worked and it was easy to get in one day) and I set up in a well lit and ventilated room, after about 3 hours of total work (had a couple small issues and my first time doing this from scratch) it works beautifully. Went from having a car that did not want to kick on the fuel pump randomly because the previous modified ECUs were poorly modded and were dying/dead, to one that works amazing and even lets us data log now. Thank you again for the great content, and look forward to learning more :) Even at the age of 35, I still enjoy learning new things and applying what I learn.
Thankfully car boards are a lot easier to solder than personal computer boards. It's a great way to learn. I still have a little soldering kit I put together from my time spent on things like my old car.
I had an older neighbor when I was 18 who thought I could fix his guitar pedal or whatever. I had no experience with electronics... I felt pressured to do it, however, and I started googling soldering and circuits, I borrowed books from the library. After about a week of spending 15 hours a day on learning this and soldering circuits in random gadgets I found in the recycling room - I managed to fix his pedal. It's the top 3 proudest moments of my life and I've been hooked ever since.
It really sucks that the customer will probably end up paying for the damage done to the machine. about 20 years ago now in the late 90s I used to repair laptops for a reputable 3rd party repair agent, sometiems we'd mess up and break stuff but any damaged caused by us never came out of the customers pocket and was always replaced with new and apologised for extra delay... I blew a hole in a chip once when my watch buckle shorted something. Customer had a new mobo in 3 days (came in for charging jack short repair (which had been completed). Explained the issue and they were happy. Eventually repaired their old board and it was repurposed in a future repair. Shame not all stores are so honest.
The local tech wanted 200-300 dollars to rescue data off of a 'broken' (his word) HDD. I declined, took the laptop home and ran Ubuntu from a USB memory stick. The HDD was perfectly visible and I used Ubuntu to download it to another memory stick. Data saved. For free. Now people think I'm a computer genius because, in essence, I happened to know that computers can be run from USB memory sticks. lol
I took a stick with ubuntu on it and plugged it in my schools computer and scared my teachers into thinking i uninstalled the OS. Also i could do some wierd ass shit i couldnt do before with schools OS like going to Kahoot bot spams and changing my wallpaper

*slow clap* They removed something that wasn't even on that board in the first place. Let us stop and reflect on this for a moment. That's true talent. They literally achieved the impossible. Such impressive, skillful work. *slams head on desk*
It's not only a good troll but also a good business opportunity. For example, all the customers who want their stuff fixed but apple refuses to do so (for their various reasons) you can immediately attract and profit! Also remember all the boards you had to pre-fix (graphic chip) in order to make it eligible for applestore repair? They can directly walk from you to the applestore this way! That is perfect customer service and a good business opportunity.
StriKe jk That's an idea most people overlooked. It does make sense though. They can go to Apple if they have a warranty and when Apple fails, they see Louis repair their gadgets to get working again.
Whenever I hear the name Apple _Genius_ Store, all I think about is Wyl E. Coyote rubbing his hands together over his new scheme and saying, "JEEEN-yus!"
This right here is one of the big reasons I got out of the repair business. Too many people using Apple, and Apple making the boards really hard to fix. Instead of ruining people's devices, I just had to turn down all Apple products. Not a good thing to do when you're already too close to your margins and the majority of people coming in have apple products. Possibly because Apple intentionally build their stuff to break.
Well My macbook air from early 2015 is still working fine. Only problem what I had was Razer Synapse which didn't worked with MacOSX Mojave update but I fixed it.
As far as I can tell from various videos on Apple products I watched, they don't make it intentionally break so much as they make it almost impossible to repair unless you know the tricks and make publishing the tricks copyright infringement. Then they declare products "vintage" and stop production of parts and repairs at the edge of the products lifespan so just about when pieces start to break from wear and tear, they're suddenly out of production and no longer covered. To make sure people don't just work with spare parts that got overproduced, they also make sure that it's hard to impossible to get your hands on authorized spare parts as a third party repair shop and make sure all the certified ones stop servicing when the product turns vintage as well. Not much better, really, but there ya go.
In fact Apple are now producing throwaway devices. Which would be understandable for 500$ worth iPhone (it is bad anyway... well), but completely intolerable for 4000$ worth iMac Pro and 3000$ worth newest MacBook-s. A scam disguised under sectarian style advertising played out as... um... science.
Well, whatever. If they have spoiled fanbois with more money than they can count they will do fine. If they don't innovate eventually their product will become a commodity and maybe even they will die out. The largest computer companies (Apples of the day) many never heard of. DEC, SGI(former owner of the googleplex), Compaq, all gone. A macbook is about as impressive to me as a $500 walmart laptop. They have tons of competition now and Android is arguably better than iOS.I bet if they started selling Android Phones the fanbois would soak them up.
My hardware teacher told us several times that most places like those "mall repairs" dont want people with real knowledge. They want someone that cant fix something in "2 hours" but can sell a new hardware or a more expensive repair. / Also, please rent one of those places. I think it's not only a good troll but an awesome bussiness oportunity.
Bojan Babic That is sadly the truth. The want guy's that can do screen replacements under 15 minutes. They don't even use real techs anymore. I seen these idiot test a battery by putting it in their tongue to see if it has power. These idiot's don't even know how to use a multimeter and even if voltage is above 4 VDC it still won't tell you if that battery can handle the current load.
When I was in school they taught us about the multimeter just to know it exist.. never actually used it in a practical scenario. It's so sad.. from my class only me and another guy end up having some knowledge about tech repair and I know that I still suck at it(only the other guy actually learned a lot and now repairs Apple products, just like Louis)
If you want to get into field, or just improve on skills. You have to take at very least basic electronics to learn how to read schematics and how to troubleshoot, as you have to understand what you are looking at and how to break it down. Then learn to solder SMT. To save you the trouble avoid those Chinese 2 in 1 piece of crap rework station's.
Bojan Babic I would have demanded my money back from that school. It a shame you have schools like this this that prey on people. This is what we call "Pay to play" places. As they just take people money and barely teach you anything of value. Then most don't realize it, as they are trying to get train in the field and don't know any better. Go to a school that teaches basic electronic's and avoid any place that advertises cell phone repair classes. As those place are a ripoff and more likely only teach you screen replacement. Which you can learn on your own watching RUclips video's

At 6:43 "I'm going to take your parent's pacemaker and replace it with a remote control"- Oh geez, I knew there was something wrong when I had to duct tape it to their chest. I figured that since the Harmony remote with macros I could program one button with pacemaker functions...well at the very least they won't misplace the remote anymore. Great stuff as always Louis.
From a commercial leasing point of view Apple actually leverages their name to get below market rent because they argue they attract X amount of traffic which would bring business to others stores.
Wow. I have run into similar situations in the automotive repair industry. My shop labor rate was $65 an hour and if the customer tried to repair it was $130.00 an hour. LOL
Seems fair lol, mind you I've had to make the call of shame once realising I was out of my league in the middle of some DIY but I did throw it all back together so didn't show up with a box of random parts atleast so the mechanic actually had chance to see how it all goes together :D
I have no idea what he's talking about 98% of the time but I can't seem to stop watching. My eyes are glued to the screen and he's got my full attention. Why's that is beyond me. 🤷♂️
Hey Louis. I was watching your Lenovo P50 water damage repair vid, where Lenovo sent it back to you in a day free of cost. I have a story to tell that involves good service policies but bad/incompetent technicians. I have an HP r014-TX laptop that I bought in 2014. Relatively cheap and made entirely of plastic, so not a very durable thing. Six months in, a cover on one of the hinges comes off, probably accidental bump. I have two years of warranty on this, so I take it to an HP Service Centre, where they charged me ~USD 20 for replacing the hinge cover and the screen back, which I felt was a little excessive, but whatever (hadn't seen your videos back then). But when I went back and turned it on, there was smoke coming out if the left side of the screen, which was shocking. I went to them again, showed them this. They never explained what had happened, but I think they exposed a part of the screen power ribbon. Anyhow, they replaced it, free of charge, and never charged me a cent apart from the cost of that plastic cover. A few months later I moved to a different city, where I discovered that suddenly, certain keys in the keyboard wouldn't work. The wifi performance also kept degrading, so I took it to the HP service Centre in that city. To cut a really long story short, I went back and forth a dozen times, never had to give them any money, but everytime I gave it to them, they would fix that problem, and then something new would pop up. They said they'd replaced the Motherboard twice, given me a new keyboard and a trackpad assembly. In the end, I was left with one problem they couldn't diagnose or replicate, according to them. The screen backlight flickered off randomly. It sometimes happened when I put force on the chassis, and sometimes when the thing was sitting absolutely still. They gave up after a replacement of the Motherboard didn't make the issue go away. It didn't happen when the laptop was opened, only when they sealed it back up. They wouldn't replace my machine though, for some reason. They just gave up. That was in 2016. A couple of months ago, I found your channel. At that time, I thought, why not open this laptop up myself, since it's out of warranty. It took me a few weeks of poking around, but I finally found the cause: the power button board. It's a tiny board, that has about 4 components. One of them is the power switch. It's connected to the Motherboard with a ribbon cable, and I think it has a hall effect sensor that senses a tiny magnet in the bezel of the screen to turn off the backlight/screen when the lid is closed. I saw that ribbon was damaged, which is why it was probably shorting and causing the screen to turn off and back on randomly. Now, I'll admit, I tried to fix it, but I'm horrible at soldering and I screwed it up. And the replacement part costs ~100 USD on eBay (excluding shipping), because of Indian taxes. But I thought this might be an interesting story to share. It showed me that the technicians employed by HP in India at least, were either lazy or incompetent or both. But it never cost me anything except the transit costs to and from the service center, and that's only because they didn't offer doorstep service in the area I lived in. If this had been Apple I might've had to shell out 70% of the cost of a new machine by now, and probably wouldn't have had the issue fixed at all. Anyhow, thanks if you've read this far!
Good story and sentiment. Shame you're in India, I'd tell you to send me the board and I'd fix it for you. If you wanted to get rid of the problem though, depending how messed up it is now, you could just remove the hall effect sensor, and turn the laptop off before you close it. For me it wouldn't bother me at all since that's what I do anyway, but even for someone who utilizes the lid sensor to put their laptop to sleep it's a small inconvenience to have to click a button rather than worry about the screen shutting off randomly. You could also just replace the hall effect sensor with a slide switch or tiny latching button that's opened in one position and bridges the contacts to mimic the effect of the hall effect sensor sensing a magnetic field in the other position, then find a spot to make a hole in the housing and fit the switch so it's accessable without keeping the bottom off forever and you're done. Of course that would require the PCB to still be in working order as far as the power button and flex cable connections for it. Plus the switch thing would still require you to press a switch so turning it off programmatically instead makes more sense probably.
Monkey J I managed to melt the ribbon cable, and soldering those is a pain. There are multiple breaks in the cable as well, and I can't find an exact replacement. Plus the cable is soldered onto the smaller board, while there's a detachable connector on the mainboard. For now I turn it on using a screwdriver as a jumper across three of the pins on the mainboard connector. I was thinking more of attaching wires to the connector itself, where it meets the board. Then I can set up my own power/lid close switch. But I don't know if I want to put in the effort for something that's nearing End of Life for me, since the screen cracked as well while I was travelling. Thanks for the advice and the offer. I wouldn't mind jerry-rigging things myself. It's just not worth what's a lot of effort for me :)
Just like anyone else, you trust but verify. Same thing with cars, furnaces, or anything else that needs repair, if you do your own homework you can can prevent a lot of BS. Had a guy come to repair my furnace, asked him how much and was told $1300, stating main board was $800 and labor was $500. Opened up the unit, got part # of main board and replaced for under $100 with $1200 still left in my wallet. As Regan said..trust but verify, will usually work
Haha I get that. We recently had to RMA a laptop from a big manufacturer (who's name is irrelevant for this comment), they said they'd come fix it at our shop themselves, "wonderful" we thought, that is way easier than dealing with RMA services. After 3 visits of aproximately 2 hours of dissasembling and rebuilding the machine apparently the guy killed the motherboard. Hilarious for us technicians who do this daily, not so much for the customer. Luckily they swapped the motherboard in the end and all turned out well..
Yeah, you can't put much heat into those ribbon cables before they start to melt. It is possible to repair them but you've got to be extremely careful and patient.
My Macbook is working perfectly. If it EVER has a hiccup it is going directly to Louis it will not pass go but it will pass every mall repair facility in this galaxy and any parallel universes,
One thing that mesmerised me is how repair people can potentially treat an item. I'm about 70% through buying equipment, transferring to professional repairs. I would never, ever ever ever treat someone else's device terribly. I would always be very careful. I would rather take an extra hour to complete a job, than rush it and break something. I would even work an hour of my own time if it meant that customer returns because I've done a very good job.
That's seriously not a bad idea to rent right there, hilarious and all the tasty business of disgruntled people that just got quotes from the Apple store would walk straight into yours after
Don't need a store across from Apple. They might need a prime desperate 'see-me' location. If I needed a repair, I would crawl through a sewage line to get to your destination.
This is the reason that I am watching yer videos so that I can take my forty odd years of Electronics repair and apply it to this business. Love yer comments, they're so true. Last week we got two cell motherboards back that we still damaged due to poor soldering techniques. .
He could use that to his advantage. They rent the prime space so he says he is going to get the secondary space so they rent that space so he finds a third place near by and says he is going to rent that place and so they rent that space. You see where I am going with this right?
If Apple can say you convert a Mac to a PC by replacing a piece of wire, then the Mall rats were thinking why not just replace a random chip with another one :)
Too funny! Take your parents pacemaker and replace it with a remote control. What a great line! I just bough an iMac Pro and if it stops working I will pay the freight + repair cost to send it to you before I take it to anyone else, especially an Apple store.
Do you ever reach out to the actual OG customer to let them know that the shop they took it to screwed up badly so they don't get charged for something the original shop never could accomplish? My bet is that the original shop never told them they sent it to you in the first place so it seems like they fixed it and lied to the original customer.
Kind of need the password to log in to the desktop. I don't think they send along password info that easily to Louis when it's about board repairs. At least I hope they don't.
THIS.. THIS one I 100% agree with.. I HATE those mall kiosk repair places that just F*K your stuff up even worse. THANK YOU FOR calling these scumbags out.

Melpheos1er nope I highly doubt it. I’m sure that priprty is owned by a giant reit (real estate investment trust) who own billions in property and have investors. Lowering the renting price would lower their asset value. And they will rather have 10 percent of their properties not renting than dropping the price. It’s weird but that’s how it usually is.

Thanks a lot for this PSA Louis. I went to a local mall to get my Samsung J3 screen repaired. It's a simple job, I could have done it myself, I just didn't have a heat gun to remove the adhesive holding the screen assembly and rest of the phone together. I did my homework before I went there. An original AMOLED screen costs about £60 on ebay, but a cheaper LCD screen is only £20. I talked to the guy there and he said it would cost £60 to get repaired, and I would be getting the original screen, which seemed to check out, although it seemed a bit fishy since they didn't add any labour cost. I didn't think much about it, I just really wanted to get my phone repaired as soon as possible. I came back 2 days later, paid them the £60, even bought a case and screen protector for £15 (a complete rip-off). Immediately after turning the screen on I saw that it looked different. The colours were more faded, but the worst offender was that I could no longer control the screen brightness. Something that I didn't mention was that the LCD screens for the J6 had written on the information page that there was no brightness control for the LCD screen. It had been very apparent what they had done. Before I walked out of the mall, I went back to them and said "I can't change the screen brightness". They restarted the phone a couple times, removed the battery, had a quick chat in their own language (they were from the middle east, or at least seemed that way). Finally, they told me it was a problem with the "software" and not the screen. That I needed to update the phone and I might have a virus. They stressed that it had nothing to do with the screen. Not wanting to be kept away from my phone any longer, or make a scene, I stifled my rage and continued on. I mean the phone technically works, but I am never trusting a mall repair guy ever again.
So....if you knew all that why didn't you tell the guy that you knew they ripped you off by not replacing it with an original OLED display, like he claimed he would do?
Yeah well but that's the thing i don't get. Why didn't you want to make a scene? They took your money and didn't give you what you paid for. I imagine you being at the store ordering a pound of meat just to get some cheap cheese instead and instead of making a scene you just go away? That's one of the few reasons where making a scene would be fine in my eyes. You paid for something and didn't get it.
Why did you went back there in the first place then? It's not like they can change it then and there if they already took two days to change it. You just went back to swallow their bullshit basically.
It might sound weird but it makes me feel a little... better knowing there are people like you out there. I appreciate the work you do, and I enjoy your videos. You explain what you are doing in a way that I can follow and understand and with your set-up allowing me to see the work you do, I can also appreciate the skill you have working on such delicate equipment. Thank you for you hard work and please continue the good work.
Its ironic you don't like Apple but because you fix their products Apple probably lasts longer in this world ... P.S. Thanks so much for fixing our broken MacBook 2015 !!
I love u. I got rid of all my Apple products but I still watch your videos cuz you are funnier than most comedians. thanks for the rant about idiots that work at Computer Mall Repair stores then blame you. Thanks.
So, the "repair" store did the repair based off of one of Louis' previous videos which was not even the right video for the repair? If you are a "professional" and you run to RUclips every time you make a repair then you need to quit taking peoples money and go into another profession.
People can't know everything. A lot of the time people in tech jobs look to their notes, schematics and guides in order to perform their jobs. Saying that looking up a video on how to do it makes you unfit for the job is silly. Maybe the person is completely fine at board repairs but just needed reassurance of the correct procedure. In the case of the guy sending in the board in this video, sure, it's not the case. But outlawing seeking help to do your job is pretty damn elitist. People aren't machines.
@@SpiceCh Using the internet is fine within certain limits. It's totally fine to look online for schematics, diagrams, papers, common troubleshooting practices and problems. Knowing that for this particular problem the first thing you should check is that particular chip because it's likely the culprit can save you a ton of time. However what is not fine is searching for easy solutions, tutorials and step by step guides. If you have to resort to that, you don't understand what you are doing and should stop immediately. In general tech repair people should be able to diagnose and repair a board without ever looking up the problem on the internet, with only manuals and tools, and use the internet only as a time saving measure (find common solutions to common problems, look up experience of other people, check out other people's approach to same situation etc), because it you don't know what you are doing in the first place, you could mistake directions (as showed in the video), follow wrong guides without ever knowing, and fail to validate the "goodness" of the information. EDIT: As you pointed out even searching for assurance is a valid use of the internet. I do it all the time (but I don't tell it to the customer because I know the potential reaction 😂)
@@alessandroceloria The thing is, this is a common problem... for an older model. The real issue here is they weren't smart enough to go "oh, this information isn't relevant to this situation". I google all kinds of Windows services for my job as some of them are foreign to me. Simple fixes for service-stops, but I'm at least able to spend 20s to see if it is relevant to my situation and judge next actions from there.

Data saved. For free. Now people think I'm a computer genius because, in essence, I happened to know that computers can be run from USB memory sticks. lol

It's not only a good troll but also a good business opportunity. Also remember all the boards you had to pre-fix (graphic chip) in order to make it eligible for applestore repair? They can directly walk from you to the applestore this way!
That is perfect customer service and a good business opportunity.

I was also thinking intentional, was funny.
Plan B is to make a "Hackintosh" from a HP mil-spec laptop.

I really like this channel. The subjects you talk about, the way you call out idiocy and incompetence, the diagnostics, the repairs, it's all great.

3:11 that moment you can see in Louis' eyes, he wants to go Gordon Ramsey on a mall franchise repair shop
How does Louis meet woman? First he repairs their tech, then he repairs their heart.
El Duderino Probobly a "woman"
That's going to be one hell of a repair bill lol.
Rossman really lived up to the BEST in repairing macs lol
My Macbook is working perfectly. If it EVER has a hiccup it is going directly to Louis it will not pass go but it will pass every mall repair facility in this galaxy and any parallel universes,
One thing that mesmerised me is how repair people can potentially treat an item.
I'm about 70% through buying equipment, transferring to professional repairs.
I would never, ever ever ever treat someone else's device terribly. I would always be very careful.
I would rather take an extra hour to complete a job, than rush it and break something. I would even work an hour of my own time if it meant that customer returns because I've done a very good job.
That's seriously not a bad idea to rent right there, hilarious and all the tasty business of disgruntled people that just got quotes from the Apple store would walk straight into yours after
You remind me of Rick Sanchez in that one episode where he is de-cursing things that people bought from Satan.
Holy shit.
15:30 kind of missed the mark on that one, lol
Don't need a store across from Apple. They might need a prime desperate 'see-me' location. If I needed a repair, I would crawl through a sewage line to get to your destination.
location not destination, but i get what you mean and agree.
i watched a louis rossmann video where he fixes things so I set my car on fire to change the oil smh louis rossmann why did you do this to me
Honestly it was a good thing they included that note. That way Louis could find out what was wrong with it so much quicker.
I watched a youtube vid of how to set a controlled fire, why did the house fire get bigger really fast when I added kerosene?
This is the reason that I am watching yer videos so that I can take my forty odd years of Electronics repair and apply it to this business. Love yer comments, they're so true.
Last week we got two cell motherboards back that we still damaged due to poor soldering techniques.
.
Inb4 Apple rents the prime space for "storage".
Let your plans be dark and impenetrable as night, and when you move, fall like a thunderbolt.
He could use that to his advantage. They rent the prime space so he says he is going to get the secondary space so they rent that space so he finds a third place near by and says he is going to rent that place and so they rent that space. You see where I am going with this right?
Please get the store, I have volunteers to flip the sandwich board for you for free.
Yeah, could build a rota of volunteers. Louis could put the stalkers to good use!
"Hey stalkers, here's the deal; I don't call cops on you if you stalk me from across the intersection while carrying these sandwich boards."
You Sir are the Gordon Ramsay of computer repair. Love you!
Back in 1987, an old English man told me that «when you do your job right, they don’t want you around». Louis never give in!!!
You should move there across from Apple and then rename your shop "RealGeniuses".
Do you ever reach out to the actual OG customer to let them know that the shop they took it to screwed up badly so they don't get charged for something the original shop never could accomplish? My bet is that the original shop never told them they sent it to you in the first place so it seems like they fixed it and lied to the original customer.
I absolutely would if I had their info.
Leave notepad document on the desktop for them to read, with a link to this video xD
Kind of need the password to log in to the desktop.
I don't think they send along password info that easily to Louis when it's about board repairs. At least I hope they don't.
It seems they would glue a potato chip to the board if it were the same size and colour.
Anything is possible...
SunnyZ
that had me LMFAO the thought of a rotten potatoe chip taped to the aapple.
THIS.. THIS one I 100% agree with.. I HATE those mall kiosk repair places that just F*K your stuff up even worse. THANK YOU FOR calling these scumbags out.
The Bossman just doesn't give a fuck. One of the few people who really value customers over their own franchise. Tearing these large companies and exposing them is always a treat.
With so many places closed i'm sure you can get the rent price down from the asking rent price
Melpheos1er nope I highly doubt it. I’m sure that priprty is owned by a giant reit (real estate investment trust) who own billions in property and have investors. Lowering the renting price would lower their asset value. And they will rather have 10 percent of their properties not renting than dropping the price. It’s weird but that’s how it usually is.
crunch9876 you got it. Even here in Halifax a place had a long term sucessful resturant. They raised rent it went vacant for over a year. Its prefered no money or tbe amount we want.
@15:26 I love the "poorly" placed bleep.
Here's a bill for replacing something that does not exist in the first place, with nothing at all.
Are they charging for air now?
Lays
Next time they will probably replace CPU with a toaster.
Sounds like an upgrade to be honest. Who wouldn't want some nice toast while on a computer.
I would mount a bread rack on top of the CPU and make toast that way, some people have no clue.
but.. its already a toaster
This man is badass the stuff i see him do is just pure magic you need more business Louis i highly recommend you because of your character, work ethic, good fight, and perseverance in this business you rock man I appreciate your efforts in your ability to diagnose and solve these issues we need more people like you.
He wrote he attempted to replace the U4700...I guess he didn’t found the chip so he gave up. 😂
He gave up after replacing a functioning chip with U4700 chip that didn't even belong on that board.
He's like "welp, can't find u4700, guess any QFN will work"
Whilst watching this, I now find myself wanting to play with Legos again. Man they were fun!
I like the way you call out crappy workmanship.
"Not wanting to be kept away from my phone any longer, or make a scene, I stifled my rage and continued on"
Yes a virus that specifically attacks brightness controls yes. I mean ffs who do they think is honestly that stupid to believe that garbage.
I replaced my tires with cinder blocks as recommended by this video.....
Not really, it's more lucrative for apple for people to buy new ones
"IT'S NOT LIKE LEGO!!" LMFAO
Happy New Year, Louis.
Always entertaining and professional repairs. Thank you for all you do for your industry and customers. Love it.
Well said
One involving the phrase "would you like fries with that?"
Love your anger demanding professionalism and self-honesty.
I don't know shit about computer repair but i find this video fascinating.
