As a dealer, it has been a nightmare selling glass stoves, especially to uneducated but rich customers. They don't use it safely and blame manufacturers and seller. We only sell products from manufacturers that have valid BIS standard certification. Now customers don't admit their mistakes but blame govt agency approved manufacturers. Anyways, I feel the older times of stainless steel stoves were the best. They are cheaper, rough and tough. One can use these without any worries. On the one hand value of money is declining and we are overspending on products that are vulnerable to damage. Not at all wise. Practicality should be priority, not aesthetics.
Abhilash, right now I am thinking of purchasing my first auto-ignition. After watching and reading many glass-top-cracking cases I am more interested in buying a stainless steel one. Yes, you right that when you say, _"customers don't admit their mistakes but blame govt agency approved manufacturers._ " The problem is using glass top one has to be extra careful (which the GrapeVine lady is) but expecting the same from others is not possible. Because people are used to stainless steel stove for decades and have certain habits - which may be risky on a glass top. As they say, old habits die hard!😉😆
@@rajupatnaik7776 Correct.. Glass tops can't be used like the stainless steel stoves. I would highly recommend you to go with the stainless steel gas stoves. There are many brands selling SS stoves in a variety of shapes, sizes and budgets. Glass tops are even bad for the environment too. They use glass that requires river sand. The construction sector takes a big chunk of the supply depleting river beds with sand. Few rivers have already stopped flowing in their natural direction. Few governments have banned river sand usage altogether and some have regulations. So we need to reduce our use of products that require river sand to save our rivers and environment.
Thank you for your video. I am using glass top stove for 5 months now. And I am so happy with it. But every time I talk about it people says it’s not safe.
Hi @Parfia !!! I've been using glass top for 12+ years. There is no safety issue with the glass top per say, it's just the handling of it that matters.
Which brand are you using since 10 yrs? Is it a cook top or a hob? Your videos are very well researched. We are planning to renovate our kitchen and your videos help us a lot in taking the right decisions.
More importantly, allow the glasstop to cool before cleaning. Suddenly cooling a heated glass with water or any cleaning liquid might cause a glass shatter.
one should be very careful with the turbo flames (many hobs has such 4kW burner) . do not use it at maximum power for longer than 20 minutes. the heat will expand the glass to danger point. And never glue the glass hob to the marble as it must be able to "breath" and expand
I am using sunflame's crystal model since 2016. Kutchina fionna ss chimney since 2019. Both working good. But for my another house i want to buy hob and chimney. I have finalised kutchina hob alexa dlx4B 60cm and kutchina vega 60 cm chimney . Which brand is best?

@@TheGrapevineIndia hello..hai.. Great videos you have posted. Could you please guide with a four burner..big size burners ss or glass top gas stoves with enough spacing between
In my glass cooktop there is a small like very minor chipped in the corner. it's like 0.2 cm. It's not a crack but chip. Is it going to crack in future?
We already faced this scary incident. My wife was cleaning the glass top stove and suddenly big cracking sound came, whole glass top was cracked into tiny pieces. We still dont understand the wrong we did.
Hi Yeshwanth! Oh no! Yeah it can be scary. The source could be at anytime before the crack actually happened for you. But I read that the toughened glass is such that it does not produce sharp edges - so it cannot hurt. Is that true?
@@TheGrapevineIndia , what "source" are you talking about? And, instead of, explaining what Yeshu's wife may have done wrong why are, very strangely, enquiring about "toughened glass". As if you didn't know that?

@@TheGrapevineIndia ok ma'am,thank you.If you could help me with another model in Faber battery operated with FFD.Do you think we should go for a stove with FFD as mandatory.
Someone told me that unlike the gas stove where milk spills or curry spills or any kind of spill you can clean by picking up the gas stove in hobs these liquids sweep into the cavity through sides and you will never be able clean it and over time it gets very dirty inside. Is this true
Hi Fida, have not had the issue of the milk seeping through. The plates are fixed to the toughened glass - you can lift the grills and clean the plates.
Today our 4-burner glass top cracked all of a sudden. Thankfully the company agreed to replace it for free under warranty. We will keep these points in mind this time!
