These bronze markers age so differently. This one looks fantastic for 1985! Maybe it was placed much later? Who knows.
They do age a lot different. Depends on climate and location. Not sure when this one was placed. It came out nice though.
@@NorthCentral It sure did. My immediate 4 of these of family concern, well 5 but 1 is new, a military one from 88 is way better than another military one placed in 2012. The 2012 one is so bad that I almost would consider replacing it. All I can do short of that is to pull it up and bring it home (too many ants are there to try this onsite) and just work on it here. Would not normally go this far but it is my Dad’s and it is a secondary marker as well. From everything I have seen I really think that my dad’s is defective. The brown part is eroding away, I haven’t seen any do what his is doing.
@@HappierHeadstones if the plaque is overly damaged you can try and get a replacement from the VA.
@@NorthCentral I probably need to try that. It is definitely not aging as it should.
WOW! I remember this. I am sorry, but THEY are wrong for that! It needs to be exactly where you put it!
Yea, this is kind of what happens when you do things in a larger cemetery. Especially one that is taken care of by a municipality. They have there manager, that have there opinion, and that’s that. They make the rules. I have taken a good couple of steps back here. I will now only be maintaining the Upright stones here. Glad to do that.
@@NorthCentral Yeah, what can ya do? That sucks...that particular one was one of the most overgrown, about to get gobbled up ones, I think I have seen you recover.
That is how I use Orvus too. So much easier this way and way less baggage on site. I have several we need to lift this winter. Maybe the ants will be somewhat dormant...but I doubt it.
Yep, slowly but surely I’m starting to get a good dependable kit together. Thanks..
I just looked up Darrell Auvil and it looks like he may be a distant cousin. It looks like Marie died in 2005 in Virginia.
@@chrismartin5652 this is one of the reasons I like doing this! Thanks for watching and sharing!
