Who needs a gym membership when you do that ! Amazing craftsmanship and use of tools. Nice to see someone using hand tools. When you were scraping for the finish, reminded me of my grandpa. He used broken coke bottles to do the same thing. Excellent videography as well. Really beautiful !

Using all your handtools in making this project, and no power tools, makes it more unique and it puts all your energy in your work. Which makes it more unique and more yours.Using power tools, just makes it too easy, you have a awesome way of making your projects.

Beautiful work and the tranquility of the sound as the wood gives under the hand of a true craftsman.
To reinforce the short grain areas I think a nicely aged strip of copper or tin would only increase the aesthetics of such a piece.

Wonderful design, beautiful craftsmanship, great video presentation. Thank you Chris! You've helped me start 2022 off with a surge of enthusiasm for possible efforts in my life. I'm coming in on this about a year behind your work. I've subscribed and look forward to your other work.
Not really familiar with the ASMR label. People who have natural inclinations for handcrafting and woodwork, like myself certainly experience an undeniable, internal, sympathetic response and enjoyment seeing the processes, physical actions that are being done by another, especially a master artisan, as thoroughly enjoyable.
I suppose this is why so many people become enamored of virtuoso musicians - especially during age of Rock & Roll for guitarists and other band member performances. With woodwork and handcrafting, seeing the process being performed by experienced people must stimulate the mirror neurons and feed the viewer's brain with a tiny sample, or dose of the biochemical process happening in the artisan.
Your skill in capturing key moments of the process, and framing and finally editing the video all reveal your skill and mastery level in the necessary pre-production planning and mental foresight. Yet more range of skills in sharing, compassion, teaching. Wonderful stuff. Thanks again. 1-1-2022

That was kind of of cluster. The goal was to have it span the length of the horizontal rail by the drill but started to wonder and come out the side so its only about half way up. Its still pretty weak and will never to used to pick vegetables out of the garden.

so nice to watch a beautiful object slowly emerge from the solid wood (Walnut , did it say ?).
With the poor oceans so badly spoiled by plastics, we see a natural product, that will last for hundreds of years, but for the right reasons.
If one were to commission a bowl like this Star Bowl, about how much would it cost ?

Great craftsmanship. wish you get your hands on a nice piece of mahogany, man it just loves fine and intricate work, with your skill and dedication, I believe you will easily create some unique masterpieces, the power tools causes too much toxic byproducts, eg saw dust everywhere and noise, best work shop I've ever seen, gouges galore, love how you bring up the grain👍.
