    I was so intrigued by the use of only ha nd powered tools. He has so much talent. Also thank you for the no talking and no music. I found that the sound of the tools alone was so relaxing.

    I watched this with my husband th8s morning and now I'm cleaning house to it. Its just satisfying to hear the sounds of someone crafting something that's not drowned out by talking and music.
    Beautiful bowl by the way. My husband's on the search for some aged wood so he can make one for me. 😁

      I agree Darlene. I like to watch a wood carving video that hasn't been turned into a music video. Kind of distracting. Some of the music choices are awful too.

    It is wonderful to see someone who has this level and skill with their tools and who takes care of them with such reverence! I also love the look and practicality of manual tools.     Love it and the video with all Natural sounds no annoying music. Well done. The way you took the bark off taking your time reminded me when as a child going deer hunting and skinning the deer you did it slow and easy and said a prayer before you shot it for the food it gave you.

    The sculpture of the grain is reminiscent of the sandstone cliffs along some of the rivers in Moab. Fantastic work Chris. More videos please.

    Thanks for sharing. I carved a bowl similar to this one using a chain saw, and other power tools. It was a quick process, the results were phenomenal.

    Hello Sir, it is very relaxing to watch you carve these unique bowls using only hand tools.
    A question I have is if you have ever worked with burls? I know they are rare to find however these unusual growths make for brilliant results.

    The firstime i saw some of your tools,,,this morming i started to look to buy and learn your craft,,
    But unfortunately very limited tools we have here in the Phils ,,,

    Замечательное видео!
    Великолепная, мастерская работа, дающая представление о том, как творили мастера прошлых, доэлектрических, времен.
    Все понравилось - и разделка древесины, и разметка, и толковое, продуманное мастером оборудование мастерской.
    Ручной инструмент опять же заботами хозяина мастерской в образцовом состоянии.
    Вся последовательность обработки - от гигантских пил и топоров до стружков - просто завораживает.
    Отсутствие музыкального фона - еще одно достоинство этого видео, да и не надо никакой музыки, когда есть звук пиления, рубки, строгания, резьбы.
    Результат этого настойчивого, творческого, продуманного до мелочей труда очень хорош.
    Подумалось, что много общего в работе скульптора и столяра - отсекая от монолита лишнее, они создают нечто: или прекрасную мраморную статую, или утилитарный, но не менее от этого прекрасный предмет из древесины.
    Огромное спасибо мастеру и автору видео!

      It’s a tool paradise! Walking Dead sent me the bat because of a zombie carving I did. The big saw is called a Japanese Whaleback Saw. The think y’all blade ensures a straight rip.

    I've made and seen many people carve bowls like this. Great work. Love your shop,your very talented. My inspiration for the bowls I carve,much like what your carving often are inspired by native american indian bowls mixed with reading and working with the grain to create a complementary flow to the shape.
