People are really confused by what they're supposed to be! Koyori said in her stream that they aren’t JP Gen 7, they are DEV_IS Gen 1, also known as ReGloss. Even though they are based in Japan, they are their own branch but still under Hololive management. The best way to look at them is a revamped INNK with better management and in-house staff (basically what Azki, Suisei or Irys were supposed to get). The matching outfits and focus on music means they're more akin to a franchise-like branding like Love Live or Idolmaster than just being regular vtubers. Curious to see what kind of streams they will make over time (hope it will stay music oriented too, like rythm games or mixing music streams/karaoke). Just have to wait until their debuts this week-end. I wish them all the best, and hope that their journey goes smoothly and with better outcomes than the original INNK.

like you said they sounded perfect together meaning they did put so much work into making sure the group had that synergy. also from what has been said by the time a new group debuts now, it means they get a group and train them a whole year to make sure they avoid mistakes made by prev gens and to make sure the group get along and form that bond that makes anything they make even better.
can someone tell me, why all of their vocal mixings and quality is so good? compared to some of hololive cover or original? are the hololivers didnt record at the same studio as DEV_IS?
im assuming, maybe some of the songs, theyr just hiring random person to mixing their vocals, so the hololivers, just record with their mic, i dont know@@dlontv
Most covers/originals songs are paid by the talents themselves with help from Cover with connection to 3rd party mixers or recording studios. DEV_IS is a new branch, most likely made to be an "idol" focus group so Cover put more effort into their first song to promote the group. Cover only really started doing Gen group songs with Council, Holostars EN and Advent that I know of so far. Also it helps that you have a group that is made up with Suisei, AZKi, and IRyS level of singing skill.

What's up with the deep voices and dark-blue/black hair. We got Kronii, Rissa and now Ao. It's getting out of control, not that I mind tho. Also Dev_Is not gen 7, yet, it's a whole new branch, that it music focussed, like Innonaka music was. In a news article Cover released they said Regloss is Dev_Is gen 1, which is why they weren't published on the main hololive channel. On the other hand, Hololive DEV_IS is already part of Hololive Production, so suggesting they'll "eventually end up in Holo" is like saying you should transfer water to the same cup of water.

However, they once again stated in their recent JP PRtimes article that this too is a new branch, "under the hololive production umbrella". It is therefore not illogical to compare case 1 to case 2. By "they'll transfer to Holo eventually" i meant the main branch, not the umbrella. By that logic, the transfer of INNK to Holo would also be "water to the same cup of water"

With Suisei it's a bit more ambigious since she joined cover through INNK as indie but left mid the branch re-organization period and the full-aquisition of InNoNaKa. The comment was more focused on the fact that, Dev_Is, while part of Holopro, is not in the same branch as Hololive JP. Botan, Suisei and Koyori said it in their stream/tweet today but they can still collab. Similarly to how INNK was part of HoloPro but not the same branch as Holo JP. Hence my not ill or malicious-mannered comment that i predict that they will move from Dev_Is (which is Holopro but the same as Hololive JP) to Holo JP.
