It’s refreshing to hear a musician, a very good musician value the relationships! I’m a songwriter myself and early i was feeding an artist (unsigned) with like everything i did for free, because he was a good dude and became a good friend. After a couple of years he finally signed his first record deal and even though he had multiple experienced producers to choose from, he wanted me for three of the tracks, because of what i’ve done in rescent years. So it’s so gratifying to hear you say this! I stumbled upon you in a youtube video with a guy ”hiring three professional drummers to record the same track” and you’r drumming in that video was amazing. Such a sweet touch but with a amazing drive! Love from Sweden!
Thank you so much for taking the time to go into depth with this. I have seen posts on IG of the Franklin drums and was wondering who was making them. I live in Nashville, I'll have to check them out! But definitely agree about the relationship side of things. Jefferson from Sugar and I have developed a very brief relationship this past year, eventually I'll grab a kit just because of that relationship. But love hearing the backstories like this, keep crushing it, Steve.
Hey Steve, I think you have my old Risen kit in your collection. 13/16/18/24 with with wood hoops. Kind of a rustic brown finish with aged marine pearl inlays. If you still have them, just wondering how you're enjoying them?
The first show I ever did with my acoustic kit, I got tons of compliments on how they looked! It was my Crush Chameleon Ash kit in transparent green, so you could see the tiger stripe wood pattern really well.
Just FYI, Keith Anderson did not start Risen Drums. I started Risen Drums in 1997 out of my house. This has been a lie since it was stolen from me through greed and manipulation by a person I considered my closest friend.
Hey Steve. I first saw/heard you play “I Choose You” on Drumeo and was instantly impressed. Now years later I see you on the RUclipss discussing things like this. I’d love to pick your brain over a coffee or beer or even better a private lesson. Do you have a signature stick produced by Vic Firth? Second question, are you a Christian? Probably won’t read this but... -Frank O.
Man why did you deleted the "Love on the rocks" video? I used to listen to that song with my grandma. She passed away on may due the covid19 pandemic. That was something we shared together. Please upload it again :(
I never heard of Franklin until today when I saw them at my church. I thought they were the Pearl President series. They do sound nice.
Thanks for the background regarding the Risen to Franklin transition.
You bet!

Thanks, Jeremy! Happy to help bring clarity to the new Franklin landscape!
I've always admired your ability to make drums sound good. Your ear for tuning stood out even then!
Thanks, Eric! Hope you are well dude.

Hi Frank! Thanks for your kind words. I'd be totally happy to meet up for a discussion! Where do you live?

The video got flagged by RUclips's copyright claim system. I have it on my Instagram if you want to see it!
