That's a nice job 👍, I just scored a Blackrolite for $64 and the paint and dull for the most part and is painted black and red in a portion of the drum. I just put new heads and snares on it and it sounds sweet, after seeing your paint job I think I may do that down the road 👍.
Wow that's just a great sounding snare and kit, it's wide open and so so sweet. Roughly what was the tuning of both heads? Last thing did the new paint make any difference to the sound? Thanks
I worry about wood hoops and their durability for me. I do a ton of rim shots and I just think they would end up all beat up. Love the color by the way and it sounds great!
Really good work but I cannot understand why you did this with an original Acrolite in perfect condition. There are so many of these around who took some heavy abuse. Now we have one original less around and that's a pity!!
Awesome project! Turned out looking/sounding great!
Man, that’s a labor of love-incredibly bright sound!
Thank you!
Yeah ……..almost as good as an Acrolite…….!!!!!
Looks hideous……absolute vandalism…….those wooden hoops won’t last at that rate ……
Awesome drumming….
Beautiful drum! Nice work!
Great idea. I have a beat up.old British snare I may spray. 👍

Sounds great, looks great!
Turned out so nice!
Wow, very cool! Dig your monster groove too.
Thanks so much Robyn!
Hell of a great idea I can think of a couple snare drums I can do that too. Love the sound 2
Pretty drum, I'd have gone with diecast hoops though.

Thanks for the video
Anyone else quit watching before the project was even finished based on the endless repeat loop music?

I hit many rim shots also but these have held up really well. They get a little fevered but surprisingly durable.
Also, thank you!
@@BostonDrummer You're welcome. I appreciate your videos.
@@BostonDrummerhow did you strip this drum!
Amazing drum! I'm looking to do something similar. Do you recall what the length was for the tension rods you're using? Cheers!
1.5"

Jozzzzzzzz
killer!
Wheres the badge though?
I ended up going with a larger DW vent hole. I still have the badge tho.
Did it. What hihat cymbals you rockin? They sound killer with your snare.
Thank you. Those are actually 17" Zildjian crashes. Bottom is an A custom and the top is a K Constantinople :)
looks exactly like hello drums snares but Ludwig instead. badass!!
@@jermss_ i was inspired by Hello drums
@@BostonDrummer you killed it!
@@jermss_ thank you!
What size tube lugs did you get and where did you get them? I measured 2 1/4 inches between the holes and cannot find tube lugs with that spacing.
Drum Supply House in Nashville. They measure 2 & 3/16" spacing from center to center. The model number is TB2316. Ask for Andy Foote.
@@BostonDrummer Thanks. Mine measured 2 & 1/4 though. that is odd but 3/16 is close enough. Thanks for responding.
@@brucevilla7490 you may have a deeper snare?
what colour is that
'64 Chevy Seafoam Green :)
Jooooozzzzzzzzzzz
