In terms of abilities he could have, he was always a monster hunter from what I understand (I'm not the most aware on his lore) maybe he'll be able to summon the monsters he's killed at some point? I'm just throwing out ideas I like the sound of honestly.

Sometimes I wonder if Angron's ability to get his ass clapped by everyone is partly due to his current state being so far removed from his intended role as a Primarch. He was supposed to have some kind of powerful empathy and support thing going on, basically the party healer. This may be why he loses fights despite all his Khorne buffs, it's just not what he's supposed to be 'good' at. It adds another layer of tragedy to an already sad AF character.

What if every Astartes Legion staged a coup on the Emperor and took over the Imperium? How would they rule it and how successful would it be, compared to the canon Imperium? (this is all legions on the same side with minimal Chaos influence on events)
What if 2 Primarchs held the Warmaster position cooperatively, under the assumption that those who would take issue at one Warmaster would respect the other one more and they could thus overall be more productive?
Which nonhuman species would be the best fit for Chaos to take over and attain galactic dominance?
If any one Loyalist and Traitor Primarch switched sides for the Horus Heresy, who would you choose for the best outcome for either the Loyalists, or the Traitors?
What if the Silent King never got rid of his Command Protocols and took (almost) all the Necrons with him out of the galaxy to perhaps find a new and better one and come across the Tyranids?
What if the Great Crusade had all the Primarchs and none turned Traitor, but there were no Astartes?
What if the Beast Orks succeeded in defeating the Imperium?
What if the Raptor Project succeeded/was never sabotaged?
How would each Heresy/Crusade-era Primarch and Legion fare against the modern Tau Empire?
What if one of the Primarchs landed on a xenos world and was raised by them?
What if the Eldar managed to kill Angron before he was enslaved?
What if another power rose to power during M31 instead of the Imperium, such as the Ullanor Orks, the Rangdan, or the Necrons via the Silent King returning early?
What if the Beast Orks grew to threaten the Imperium before the Heresy could happen?
What if the Tyranids arrived in M31, before the Heresy could happen?

Giving Primarchs niche super super powers feels overly definitive.
One writer gets carried away with themselves and suddenly its like the power rangers or Captain Planet.
Forest Walk?? Really? Quick Horus,I know your the Ascendant of the four Ruinous powers but look out, Jonson's vibing with the trees. You're in trouble now!
I preferred the lore awhile back. The Emperor's origins were that of a mysterious God King guiding and guarding humanity. Now he's all the prehistoric psykers merging together??
What's stopped other more psychic races from doing the same thing? Its the explanation of the Force all over again.
I realise there's a demographic that wants everything definitive, easily coloured, labeled and spoonfed to them. But, remember 40k's symbol is the warp, limitless, endlessly creative and exponential, larger than life and entirely non comprehensible to even the mind of a Farseer, let alone beings like you or I.
If I was laying it out then sure, Russ and Corax can turn into void werewolf and Raven form...because they've been stalking the warp for centuries.
Not every primarch should get a niche bullshit power because 1 or 2 (may) have them.

In norse mythology, Odin wields a spear called Gungnir which always returns to him no matter how far it's thrown, and i always understood Russ' relation with his spear as him trying to actively deny his own nature, which by the time he reappears I'm sure he will have accepted

Small critique about Perturabo. His character arc was about him being put into grueling and unforgiving jobs with no praise while also wanting to do and invent things not related to war at all, and his flaw was never being able to advocate for himself. This is why he was so pissed when the auditorium he built for the council of Nikaea was demolished.
If his role was a living weapon, than that would betray his entire character arc about wanting to do things on his own terms.

That's the secret knowledge Big E bargained/stole from the chaos gods: Greater Daemons. Each Primarch is a custom-sculpted Greater Demon that the Emperor made from a sliver of his own soul, turned into a seed, and implanted in the bodies of the Primarch's when they were just zygotes in his lab. The kinda-daemon was supposed to grow and mature and live a mortal-ish life so it would sympathize and empathize with humanity, creating the perfect fusion of warp entity and flesh. If they'd been allowed to grow as planned, they'd have developed into the perfect hybrids and Big E could have used them to create perfect multidimensional warriors who could strike anywhere in the Warp or reality. All the Astartes would have been actual demigods. But it didn't. Most of the primarchs are dead, the survivors have either gone blind to their true potential, or they've traded away their own divinity to the chaos gods and sped up the process to achieve power, but at the end of a leash.

  • @KodySmithson

Its nice to theorize and even homebrew a primarchs ultimate ability. My favorite I thought of is if Angron were to unlock his, it’d be full resurrections of other with no catches, the number decreasing with the power of whatever he resurrects. Maybe potentially he would resurrect thousands of guardsman, hundreds of astartes and perhaps a one time thing for a primarch or even the Big E himself.

If he wasn't so stuck up with creating better buildings than Dorn, then he could've done the next best thing, mass production of above-average fortresses on massive scales, quantity over quality, the idea that he could possibly make thousands of really great buildings than a few masterpieces would make him incredibly more respected. And being petty about it, he could also take over better areas that would've been where Dorn could've built his masterpieces. All in all, Dorn wouldn't have been mad, he would've been proud that his brother is moving farther than he could've been, since Perturabo is more likely to protect the areas where Dorn is assigned, knowing that his brother has his back in his own way

I think Guilliman's power is likely complete, or at least extensive, awareness of everything. In Know No Fear he is able to monitor many different sources of data to figure out what's going on and what to do. The stereotypical trait of "logistics" also applies here. He knows the state of everything and so can make decisions about what to do. He is capable of handling massive amounts of info. I don't think that means he's unlocked something but it points to his trait possibly being the capability to observe and analyze massive amounts of info aka be all knowing.

I think Guilliman's new power should be a form of primarch tier Astropathy, which would work really well with his organizational and administration skills. The ability to send and receive information from across sectors or even segmentums would make the grand galactic strategy of the Indomitus Crusade so much easier to manage and coordinate.

The theme I am seeing with the Primarch powers is they seem to be in contrast to their major flaws and weaknesses at the beginning.
I would guess Rogal Dorn's true primarch power would be to make the warp calm: drain the madness and make way for it to be the old immaterium before the madness.
Perturabo's would be to build great works of function, grace and beauty. He had a hidden library of such things, yet it is the antithesis of how he ran the Iron Warriors.
I absolutely agree that Leman Russ would return as an Odin; a keeper of old lore, trickster and tester of mortals, and probably have an absolute blast doing it.
Conrad Kurtz is probably the only one who could challenge fate, and use prophecies as warnings and redirects of what to, and what not to do.
Guilliman's gift is war, on an unimaginable scale, he can imagine, and lead, and almost more importantly, stop when it is done.
Of all of the Primarchs, it is probably Guilliman who has the least purpose in peace time, but he is also the primarch who would be happiest to retire into the hill country to farm and tend vineyards until it became necessary to take up his sword again.

What would Ferrus Manus' true power be?
It would also be cool to see Clonegrim as the next returned primarch.

I think although the glorious golden hawk boy managed to unlock alot of his power, especially as shown during the siege of terra and then against Horus. Mephiston containing the angel of darkness proves Sangy would've also been a broken psyker like goddamn

Guilliman is also the only Primarch that went to see the Emperor after Big E spent 10000 years marinating in the Golden Throne and being fed 1000 psykers a day every day for that time.
That meeting may be why Big E can empower Guilliman so much and even posses him.
Also most of the galaxy only know that Guilliman is back, relatively few humans know the Lion is also back so many, as in trillions, of souls are constantly praying at Guilliman.
Any day now he will start performing miracles without even realizing it.

Potentially Controversial take on Rowboat Girlyman:
Instead of being a conduit for the emperor per say as his power, he is perhaps instead an avatar of righteousness and hope - essence his power would be to be the perfect leader. One of the themes from god blight was effectively that roboute was trying to wrestle with the fact that his father, not only treated him like a tool but also was in fact a god, while maxim tried to shrug off his questions about it while still at least giving him some form of answer, the aldaeri gave him a ironically more clear answer, in that the trillions of souls of the materium worshipping him and thus empowering him here and in the seal of souls (immaterium) this would mean he has effectively become a god and achieved a half apotheosis for his power, only when the emperor is completely dead in this realm will he fully ascend (I do think cypher really is trying to do that honestly)
So being that the emperor is effectively a god, this means that roboute being a son of that same god makes him a demi-god and thus avatar of the God-Emperor, allowing roboute to be the man that the emperor cannot be while still acting through the god-emperors will. Its very complicated but, think of like the avatar of khaine being a fragment of khaines nature, but then just without all the summoning garbage from the knife ears.
I know this would make it seem more likely that Horus was mean't to be this, but I actually wonder if the whole "just as planned" meme about the emperor is actually whats really going on and that Horus was always mean't to fail and become something else, just never in the way that he did.

considering that the only 2 real awakenings we know off are giving an actual warp based power
i would assume that guilliman would become a high tech warp computer that automatically fixes logistics everywhere taking over machine spirits and replaces them with himself
while the khan gains an actual engine that will make him faster or dematerialize into actual wind that can cut things

Imagine if Guilliman got like an excel app he uses in secret or an innate excel program running in his brain as his warp power
