amazing! thank you for your tutorials you explain it really well! what exactly is viva paper? does it have a special coating? i live in the netherlands and we don't have it here, I'm trying to find a good substitute.
Using Viva paper for smoothing is right after icing the cake or need to put in fridge first? Thank you very much for your videos....love it...keep it up
Viva paper will work on crusting buttercream right after you ice it. The buttercream I used in this video crust slightly and the paper will stick a bit to it since it's not a crusting buttercream so I let it dry a bit and then slightly pat it with the paper if I want too. But for this type of buttercream I rather use the comb.
Hi Edna. I use Italian or Swiss Meringue Buttercream. Will the paper towel stick to that as it is softer than American buttercream? And if will, should I just put the cake back in the fridge for a little while and try the paper towel?
Hey Edna, OMG I was wondering how you got that beautiful design. I seen that comb and I almost bought it. But then I said I have enough stuff. LOL. I maybe buying it . Edna beautiful job!

It really depends on what type of buttercream you use. I use Crusting buttercream and it doesn't require to be placed back in the fridge. Also, some fillings might require refrigeration.
@@EdnaDelacruz if i use wipped cream in that case, suppose i have taken powder wipped cream and use for frooasting, the cream usually melts away quick, so should i put in the fridge and not in the freezer to avoid melting.
@@lobsangphuntso2316 I don't use powder whipped cream but when I use real whipped cream icing, I usually add a stabilizer so it doesn't melt. When you use whipped cream icing it does require refrigeration. I also have a tutorial on how to make stabilized whipped cream icing.
It takes practice but never fear to take take the buttercream off and start from scratch if it doesn't happen the first time! It's a matter of getting used to it.
I have no idea. You might need to do that research since I don't know what they sell there. You need to be on the lookout for a kitchen paper that is soft and has no brocade pattern to it.
You need to put enough buttercream so when you use the comb you still have buttercream left behind. Also make sure you are not digging the comb so hard in the buttercream that it takes too much of the buttercream away. It takes a bit of practice!

Hey there!!! Lovely tutorial! I would just like to ask why my cake rises and after i let it cool down it deflates???
That usually means that the cake was not fully cooked in the center. You could try using a center heat core to help bring some heat to the center.

Thank you so much for this tutorial! This helped me a lot!

Viva paper? Is there an equivalent in the UK?
