This video was quite the challenge! Surprisingly I feel like it was harder than turning a $20 grocery store cake into a $500 wedding cake! That was easy in comparison! In today's video I took cheap grocery store bought cupcakes with vanilla icing and vanilla cake topped with confetti sprinkles and deconstructed them. With the addition of melted tempered white chocolate candy melts I made cakesicles and cake truffles. I also added some gold leaf and edible gold dust to create extra fancy easy simple designs! They turned out SO cute!

idc what anyone says, those grocery store cupcakes absolutely SLAP. These, and Kimberley's soft sugar cookies, have to be the two most addictive things you can buy at a grocery store.

For the cakesicle... It's all about the consistency of the chocolate and how you fill the molds, for coating most people use candle melts or pure chocolate with a little vegetable oil to thin it out.... It's waayy better than regular melted chocolate... Because you want that refined chocolate surface

You should have laid a thin layer of chocolate and then fill it with the dough and then layer it with chocolate on top

How do they taste though😭 every time I make cake pops they somehow end up tasting like actual dirt. I don’t even know how. I can split my cake batter in two and make a mini cake that will taste delicious but the cake pops made with the exact same ingredients are inedible

I've never really understood the whole cake pop/"truffle" thing - surely just eating the cake would taste better.
That said, the hearts looked dope af.
Just depends on your preference. Cake pops are richer and have a tougher, richer coating on the outside. They are much sweeter than cake. Less fluffy frosting. Some people like the easy serve properties of cake pops.
They are a great way to save a disaster cake. I made a huge banana cake once for my birthday once, but my inexperienced self overfilled the baking pan. When I pulled it from the oven, the edges were cooked but the inside was still a doughy batter. I had to cut that cake in half and stick both halves back in the oven. This of course over cooked and dried out the cakes. There was no way they were edible like that, so I took a risk and turned the ruined cakes into cake pops (using 500g of cream cheese icing as my binding agent). Some I coated in white chocolate and others more cream cheese Icing. They turned out amazing! Mixing the icing into the dry ruined cake made the dough lovely and moist again. They tasted like a rich ...well banana cake truffle. Everyone at my party loved them and the only ones I had left were the ones I set aside for my mother.

I only like the cake pops that are literally just cake cooked in tiny balls molds, the ones made from mushed up cake are just not good

omg no🤣! I have been playing this game for well over 10 years lol! I used to play with my old boss back when Kevin and I were just coworkers! She would get sooooo moody when I beat her LOL! One way to do marble is to drop the coloring without mixing it on the top
Dip the cake pop while twisting it and twist it as you pull it out

With cakesicles , I use the same method as u have done for the heart mould. First layer it with melted chocolate, chill.. insert the stick.. yes in an empty half shell. This helps in making the cavity for poking in the stick later..
After that hole is made, pull out the stick. Lightly recoat it with chocolate, add in the cake crumbs.. now add in the stick.. cover it with chocolate again. This will be ur final coat..give it a tap to remove air bubbles.. chill and voila!!

She's probably the only one that eats these together with her family so no need to worry. I've never had a ring disappear.
I love doing cakesicles!! What I do is I make the cakepop dough, fill the mold and stick the stick in. Then I freeze them for about 15 mins. Then I take them out of the mold and transfer them to the fridge while I heat up the chocolate and thin it out, then I grab the cakesicles and grab my spoon and spoon the chocolate over the cakesicles. I do not dip them bc they are too heavy to lift out of the chocolate. I have the same prob with popsicles, so I just spoon the chocolate over them and get rid of the excess. This is what has worked for me. 😊
She has an incredible amount of patience to pick out those sprinkles.
