But the finished product at the end was so much more rewarding because of it. Also, I agree, cakesicles are probably just not your thing. The chocolate hearts turned out amazing.

I think I’ve almost perfected cake pops, I would recommend leaving your cakesicles in the freezer until you have your chocolate ready for dipping, then dip right away and put back into freezer to set

If you adhere the popsicle sticks with chocolate/ganache and let it set, then you can dip and the popsicle stick will stay put. And your chocolate should be relatively thin. Yours is too thick. Better to dip 2-3 times than once in thick chocolate. Just end up with goopy mess. And let chocolate drip off over parchment paper. Then you can scrape off and reuse. 🥰
Further to my previous post. I wanted to mention how disappointed that I never got to meet you at Canada’s Baking and Sweets show. Would have been such a treat. I won tickets on your fb page. Unfortunately I could only attend Saturday. You were demonstrating Sunday. 🥰🥰

I also believe a factor is the shape of the popsicle stick could be a factor. A lot of the videos I've seen use a hourglass shaped stick, which I would imagine helps prevent the stick from sliding out

It's never to late to learn to bake and decorate. I'm a self taught baker and cake decorator. I didn't start baking from home till I was 46 or 47. Never give up on your daydreams!
You could make a like peppermint pond with peppermints and put Penguins and polar bears like there swimming and maybe make peppermint icing idk just a cool thought 😁
