CoCoon sunglasses to fit over prescription glasses

Take a look at the poor quality of these CoCoon sunglasses. I own 3 pairs of them and they all fell apart.
So I finally tried a different brand Yodo which is much cheaper and for the last 2 years have held up great.
Update May 2023, the Yodo's are still holding up great.

Had the exact same experience - a pair of Cocoons Pilot lasted me for just a few years of normal use before the stems started flaking and disintegrating. Definitely not worth the price.

It's good to know others have the same experience. I can guess that's why you can't buy them anymore from Amazon, too many bad reviews.

Thanks for the video. I enjoyed mine (Pilot: Black with gray polarized) close to 20 years and using them daily when driving. Only last year did they started to disintegrate badly like what you have shown. Perhaps they don't make them like they used to.

I think the heat has a lot to do with it. I live in SC and it gets hot down here, especially in the car where I left them all day. But they were never in the direct sunlight, I always kept them shielded but they still fell apart. They charge too much for that to happen.

Hi Gary, I am learning a lot, thank you! I can imagine how much you are disappointed. These days, we cannot say things made in China are always bad, because some of them are superior. But we always supervise the company in China very hard and strictly for the quality.

Don’t let thi get to you I’ve had a pair of cocoon sunglasses for six years. I got a pair second hand at the thrift store and let me tell you something they are the best sunglasses you will ever own. They fit like a dream, and they were in virtually indestructible for a casual user.

Cocoon sunglasses has a lifetime warranty...

Only if you have a receipt from a authorized seller. I have no receipt, who keeps receipts for minor items like this? Plus read the so called lifetime warranty more closely, it's one year.
And here is another catch, they charge you $9.95 for shipping. There is no proof they fixed the issue. So what happens when the replacement pair starts flaking off? Another $10 to ship me another pair? I want something that lasts, not something that has to be replaced because of defects. These Yodo's are still holding up great, no sign of any plastic flaking off the frames.

Not sure of what's going on , I have the cocoon avaiators style for 5 years and guess I got a good pair . And ordered a second pair - all good so far . As much as they cost should have been made better in my book . You should contact cocoon and send them pictures , they should help you out of this bad manufacturer defect . It's got too be a defect , I for one wouldn't buy another pair after seeing this video . No sense of this happening .👎🏻💔

3 pairs all the same issue. All bought at different time frames and at least one pair was bought directly from them. It's done and over for me. It's cheap overpriced junk. You have to pay shipping back to them. It's not worth it. I don't keep receipts either. The Yodo's are a fraction of the price and are holding up great.
